We were on a Valentine’s weekend get-a-way at Dover Downs and as we always do when in casinos we searched out the in-house steakhouse for a high end Valentine’s dinner. Most everyone raved about the restaurant. We were a walk in with no reservation. We figured a wait even though the the Resturant looked to be 50% capacity at 7:15pm. The greeter was awesome and very nice, she was a Law and Order SVU fan and commented on my name. The manager she consulted was curt and fairly rude when looking for an opening. We made a 8pm reservation and returned to the casino to gamble. We returned 10 minutes before our reservation and was seated with-in 2 minutes. The Resturant had a typical dark and relaxing atmosphere with no piano or entertainment(as most high end restaurants tend to have). Our server followed up with-in a few minutes, no pizzazz or special uniform but she was nice enough. There must of been a bit of confusion on the table assignment because another server showed up after our drink order was taken and was surprised we were already being served. Then she yelled«Did someone flip this table» to the front staff while walking behind me. Found it odd for an expensive Resturant to have this done but did say anything and didn’t care but should have been a flag on what was to come. Took 15 minutes to get our drinks and we were ready to order but was told we had to wait because she had to take another order first. Very odd and rude. She returned 10 minutes later to take our order. We asked several questions and they were answered in full. Order was taken just before 8:30pm Resturant appeared to be under 50% of capacity at that time. The waitress returned at 8:50 to tell us the appetizer would be out soon and she asked for our food to be started. Appetizer was Lamb with a sweet glaze, it was served at 9pm and was Luke warm. It was ok but no real flavor other than the glaze. Very disappointed Dinner was served at 9:05. I ordered the Rib Eye with mash potatoes, I had asked the portion size, she said small so I ordered a second side of mash potatoes and my valentine ordered the 8oz Filet with mash potatoes and mushrooms. It is pretty much our consistent steakhouse entrée order. The portion of mash was very small and I never received the second helping. The rib eye was flat and not fatty at all. It was over cooked and chewy. No flavor, I only got through it due to the sauces offered with the steak. I ordered a herb garlic. Couldn’t finish the steak not due to size but due to the food. Finished 90% My valentines meal was the same. The filet was never and tasteless her mushrooms were chewy and bland. No desert Meal was 117.50 and left a 23.50 tip(20%) Very disappointed and was really looking forward to that meal. We will never return nor would we recommend

Had a good Saturday dinner and heard they had an excellent Sunday brunch. My friends and I really enjoyed it the following day from the variety of foods as well as «fresh cooked» stations!

The ONLY problem was a hiccup in the service — we had to have someone summon one of our wait servers to take our payment. The funny thing is that there were two people taking care of use, but couldn’t really tell! Other than that. The food was OUTSTANDING. There was nothing I tasted that I didn’t like. There was much that I didn’t taste, but looked delicious that I will be trying on my next visit. The crepes were fantastic, the shrimp was peeled/cleaned and SEASONED, the oysters were on point and the prime rib was the best in recent memory. My question now is did we miss out on the pitcher of mimosa? This being our first time, I asked what was included and only the usual suspects were named — nothing about mimosas! Well, I’ll find out in a couple of weeks, ’cause WE’REGOINGBACK! From reading some of the other posts, it’s evident that everything isn’t served all the time… variety ain’t a bad thing!

Used a Groupon for the prime rib dinner for two. Both cuts were ordered rare and cooked rare. Unfortunately one of the servings was tough with a few lines of sinew in the center of the cut. The meals were served with mashed potatoes asparagus and carrots. The carrots were discolored and tough(not crisp) The server was in training but did an excellent job serving a mediocre meal.

Went here primarily because of a 50% discount coupon for prime rib. We had an amazing time on a Saturday afternoon here. For our visit it wasn’t crowded and the food was just excellent. I’m not a big prime rib fan — but Michele’s has proven to me if done correctly, it can be a very tasty cut. Their meat was by far the star of the dinner for us.

We had reservations for 7:30 p.m. there last night and had their Valentine’s Day Dinner Special. We arrived a few minutes early and was seated almost immediately. The food, drinks and atmosphere was above average for the Dover area. The salads, Beef Wellington, Filet Mignon, Chilean Sea Bass and dessert were very good. The only complaint I have about Michele’s was that we were seated at a wobbly round card table for two covered by a white tablecloth. Any cutting or touching of the table sent unwanted shockwaves across the table. There were about a half dozen empty regular sturdy tables available when we were seated which put a bad taste in our mouths. Also, it seemed like our card table was placed in the pathway leading to and from the kitchen. The only good thing about that was we got to see most of the menu items available. Our waitress was very good and checked on us frequently. For the amount of money spent on dinner and what we have heard about Michele’s from friends who have dined there, we were a bit disappointed and the reason behind the rating given. We feel that the reputation Michele’s has for a fine dining experience, we shouldn’t have been seated at a card table nor should have thought about asking to be moved to a better table. Another thing that is a pet peeve of mine is that a manager on duty did not come around to patrons asking how the food & service was. Most of the high-end restaurants we have ate at around the country & abroad, a manager and/or head chef has checked on patrons. There is only one other restaurant in Dover that is better for dining & price; other than that we would have had to choose between a handful of restaurants within a 45-mile radius, mostly up in the Wilmington area and some in the Lewes-Rehoboth Beach area. For $ 140, not including tip, we’ll give Michele’s another try at a much later date.

Delicious. Probably the best meal in Kent County Delaware. Great service. Delicious meal. Cozy atmosphere. The shrimp and scallops over grits was delicious. Hubby had the NY strip which was great also. We recommend getting the 14oz. Great night out.

Awesome Sunday brunch! They have an omelette station, carving station with lamb and prime rib, crepes station, they have oysters and shrimp cocktail, smoked salmon with all the fixings, muffins, fruits deserts and more! It was delish! And all for 26 something per person. They have pitchers of mimosas and they also offer 20% military discount. My husband and I loved it, we will def be back. Going to make it a monthly thing for Sunday brunch!

This place is fabulous. I drive over from Baltimore to stay at Dover Downs and Michele’s is always on my list of places to eat. The food is well prepared and delicious, and the atmosphere quiet and elegant. The service is great also. I have never had a complaint and look forward to going there this weekend.

I came for dinner. First impression, the décor is ok, nothing to write home about. I started my meal off with the fried calamari. It was light and tender. The sauce it came with is sweet and has a bit of spice. The sauce was served cold. It was ok. For dinner I ordered the rib eye with a crab cake. I ordered the steak medium. It came out well done. It had a decent flavor but was a bit over seasoned. The crab cake was all jumbo lump and was tender. It also was a bit over seasoned. The food was only ok while charging the same price of a New York City steakhouse.

Michelle’s is the best place for Sunday Brunch, hands down. Michelle’s is an upscale, high end dining experience that is not typical of what you find as far as casino hotel food. Their Sunday Brunch is the best. It includes alaskan king crab legs, oysters, as well as the custom omlet station. I love their food. Their service is beyond excellent. They remember you, remember what you prefer. It is amazingly worth the price.
