The seafood is the freshest you can find it would be hard for you to catch it and cook it and it be this fresh. The fish is simply cooked not a lot of seasoning they just Leer the natural flavor speak. The bisque is incredible and a must try. The rolls are fresh baked and very good you have to ask for them so make sure you do. The bread pudding is not overly sweet but veer good and large enough for the entire table. The prices can seem a little high but for the quality of the food it is very much fair.

This place serves the best seafood dishes in town. It was a 15 minutes drive from Dover Downs but worth it. I got stuffed rockfish filled with crabmeat. Heavenly joy.

Cool Springs remains our Favorite seafood restaurant and to date, have never had a bad meal. Everything is cooked to perfection and tastes delicious! We lost Angela as our waitress, but the replacement, Jocelyn, is attentive, friendly, always on task and appears delighted to be serving her customers. Don’t miss out on this exceptional seafood restaurant, and ask for Jocelyn, you’ll be glad you did!

If you want excellent food, this is the place to go. Come early because it gets packed!!! I’ve tried everything except the prime rib but it’s my husbands go to. I recommend Cool springs to everyone I know!

VERYDISAPPOINTINGEXPERIENCE! WONTBEBACK! Food was good quality but extremely unimaginative The menu does not explain what comes with each entrée and you find out later that most came with the same vegetable When you ask for bread, you get ‘one’ roll! When I requested paying with AMEX I was rather abruptly informed they don’t take it! When I explained that was all I had with which to pay I was made to feel like it was my fault for not knowing as much Sorry folks! I do not complain often but I could not recommend either the food or the service at this restaurant, the former was okay, the latter below average for sure. Went to a restaurant in Middletown DE the previous night and the food was excellent and whatever credit card one had to use was accepted with thanks!

Our food here was amazing. We had fried oysters and the scallop appetizers. They were perfect. The salad had great green lettuce and the freshest tomatoes. We had the crab cakes and the crab imperial. They were some of the best crab dishes we’ve ever had — No fillers and great flavoring. This was one of the best meals we’ve had in a long time. It completely hit the spot and the service was so pleasant and exactly on time. I highly recommend this restaurant.

I like to eat at cool springs when I have the extra cash. It’s a bit pricey for me. Because I like to eat a big meal when I go out. The portions are small. This means I have to get appetizers and a dessert to feel I went out and treated my family well. Which is a must do? If not we are snacking when we get home. I figure around $ 30 or more per person to have an ok dinner. Add another $ 10 for top shelf dinner.

First time at this expensive restaurant. Everything was fresh and made from scratch. Service was the best in my experience. Had the crab imperial which had fresh lump crab meat but that is the best you could say for this dish. It lacked any herbs, spices, or creaminess expected in crab imperial. They need to up their game for this entrée. I will go again sometime in the future and see how they do with a non seafood entrée.

The service was good. However, I was not wowed by the food. It was OK, but I expected more from the reviews I had read. I had the fire grilled shrimp and asparagus. Presentation was boring considering the price I expect a little more effort. It tasted ok, but not amazing. I do like that they use local vegetables so that was a plus for me. My husband had the crabcakes and again they were just OK. All in all, there was nothing really wrong, but it wasn’t enough for me to go back.

Close to home. Amazing food. Never had a bad experience. My ONLY complaint is that there is no changing table in the restroom. :)

Appetizer — best seared scallops ever! Highly recommend trying this restaurant even if you are driving through as we were.

Best tuna fillet I have ever had. DogFish beer on tap all the time. All deserts are made in house.

We were on a motorcycle trip from West Coast and used Unilocal to find a good restaurant. Cool Springs was a wonderful find, it helped make our trip memorable. The Maryland Soft Shelled Crab was world class, vegetables, seafood bisque and salad were very fresh and good. The wine list thoughtful and expansive. Good service and all that you could ask for in a great restaurant but go for the food!!! the chefs are the best.

This was great! I and a couple of coworkers went to Cool Springs while in town on a business trip. The service was impeccable; fast, friendly, informative. The environment was relaxing and upscale yet still homey, not fancy enough that I felt uncomfortable. The salads that came before our meals were kind of unremarkable; just lettuce and a couple of tomato slices with dressing on top. HOWEVER – they also came with homemade croutons that were out of this world! We found out that they were deep fried, not baked. They were so amazing we asked for a dish of just croutons to snack on and were happily accommodated. I ordered the baked stuffed flounder for dinner. It was flounder stuffed with crab, baked, and covered in newburg sauce. It was AMAZING! Perfectly prepared, a good sized portion. It came with a little salted baked potato with some kind of seasoned butter, and a sautéed green bean mix. Everything was simple and expertly prepared and so good. I was able to clean my plate without fleeing stuffed. For dessert I ordered the bread pudding and holy moly, this is a dessert that four people could share! It was enormous! I didn’t even eat half of it, but not for lack of trying, because it was, again, just simple and perfect. Great texture, great flavor, great caramel sauce, and it came with a delicious cinnamon ice cream. All in all, when I’m back in Dover next month I will definitely be coming here for dinner with my team again! I would say the only slight mark against it is that there were absolutely zero vegetarian options on the menu, and my veg coworker had to «doctor» one of their shrimp pastas to make it meatless – and he said it ended up being only so-so, nothing special. But this is a seafood place, so it’s not like lack of veg options is a fair critique. Just maybe go somewhere else if you have vegetarians in your party.

Dinner here was a pleasure. The place was near our hotel and the parking lot was nearing capacity so we stopped in. Bigger than it appears we were seated immediately. The atmosphere is pleasant despite their volume of diners. Large menu. Though much of their entrees’ were expensive ranging between $ 18-$ 29 per plate, we opted to share a pasta and a bowl of seafood bisque. The soup was the best we have had so far, as was the pasta. The portion size of pasta was plenty for 2 of us. The house bread was served with tongs instead of being touched… I really appreciate that. The restaurant was very clean and smelled appealing upon entry. A good wine selection including better wines than Barefoot and Yellowtail(a refreshing change from other restaurants in the area). Service was attentive yet not intrusive. My only suggestion would be to install a ½ wall behind the maître d stand so I would have to watch the girls fix their shoes/touch their feet and adjust their clothing just before touching the menus. We would return here.

The food & the ambiance is good. It’s not excellent. The customer service is better than anything. The restaurant hours are not that good for the Dover area. For a seafood restaurant, I would expect the food to be better than good. The vegetable selections for dinner does not have variety. They serve very nice bread. The desert is ok. But nothing to write home about. No really good soup selections. Was hoping for above standard appetizers & that did not happen. For the above reasons, I am giving 3 stars. Again, the food is good. Just not anything out of the ordinary. Dover needs & deserves out of the ordinary.

Not. So. Good. At the recommendation of the hotel I was staying at I made the 20 minute trek to Cool Springs. It’s an okay little place kind of off the beaten path. I should have stayed on the beaten path. When I travel I like to try local places rather than going to the local Macaroni Grill, Chili’s T.G.I. Friday’s, Chipotle Grill and their ilk. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. This time I really didn’t win or lose. The evening started out good with a nice glass of Pinot Noir and a helpful server. I chose the Crab Cake appetizer and Salmon special. Dinner came with a salad. The crab cakes were awesome, but then I don’t get crab cakes often so they may not have been as good as I thought. The salad was okay, nothing special. The salmon was Not. So. Good. You would think because it was on their Nightly Specials Board and because the sign out front says«The fish you eat here tonight slept in the water last night» that it would be fresh. No so with the salmon. Definitely something frozen with a very strong fishy taste. So much so that I couldn’t finish it. Luckily it came with broccoli and some red potatoes that were pretty good. I would give them another try, but I’m only here for the night. If you decide to eat here just make your choices wisely. Oh, and leave your American Express Card at home, they only take VISA or MasterCard.

I actually stopped in for dinner last night, with my co-workers.(I forgot to set up my review last night.) This place is a quaint neighborhood spot. The staff is friendly, service is prompt and the ambience is comfortable and inviting. The dining area spacing is nice, it was crowded last night; however the atmosphere was very warm and not chaotic. There is ample distance between tables, so you don’t feel like you are sitting on top of patrons at other tables. I had the mini-crab cakes appetizer, they were very tasty! My main course was the Bourbon Salmon, it was actually pretty good as well,(my fillet could have been a little bigger), the size seemed like a lunch portion size. They also have Sweet Tea here. My co-worker had the Prime Rib, it was huge! It looked like something you see in the Flintstones movie, he couldn’t finish it! Lol! If you want dessert, there isn’t a dessert menu, the waitress brought out a sample tray, your decision is made at that time. I had the chocolate cake, it was really good, just the right sized slice.
