Capriotti’s Sandwich Shop

I’ve been to other locations of Capriotti’s before and this one was par for the course, clean and inviting. I usually get a tuna sandwich or a hoagie of some sort, but today I went off the grid and ordered a meatball sandwich. The sign said homemade meatballs with homemade sauce. First off, the sandwich says its 9 inches, but it was really big. That’s not a bad thing at all. Take half of it home or just split it with someone if you’re not super starving. The girl that took my order was very friendly, and had patience with me since I was being indecisive. I ordered and sat down in the small seating area and waited. The sandwich arrived and to my surprise, it was cold. The meatballs were not really that tasty at all either. The sauce was sweet and not bad, but the cheese was not even slightly melted. It was cold. Like, just took these things out of the fridge and plopped them on a roll, cold. It was super disappointing. Especially since I waited a decent amount of time for them to bring it over to me. I ate half of the sandwich and the chips I got with it and threw the other half away before I left. I like Capriotti’s and I will go back, but I’ll just never order a meatball sandwich again.

Def best cheesesteak in Dover! Has good flavor. My husband likes the bobby sandwich from them too which is like a thanksgiving dinner in a sandwich. Only reason it doesn’t get five stars from me is because they close a little early and if you call close to closing they are out of a lot of things.

Service — Everytime I have been in there has been a line but I have gotten my food in less than ten minutes. In addition to that, the people that work there are great. Everytime I have been in they have been very helpful. I had a coupon for a free cookie and when the computer system wouldn’t take it they just gave me the cookie.
Food — I have had their desserts and the Bobbie. I haven’t tried anything else because I think if something isn’t broken, you shouldn’t fix it. The Bobbie is probably the best sandwich I have ever had. The bread is perfect, the turkey is moist and I love the mayo. I am not a huge cranberry sauce fan so I have them put it on the side so I can have only the amount I want and avoid the actual cranberries (I am picky but that sandwich is still good).

The best sandwiches in the city but they always close early and don’t try to call in an order past 7:00pm! Too unpredictable to earn more than one star!

This place is pretty good. Their «small» size is 9″ which is more than plenty. I couldn’t finish my italian sandwich, but it was very tasty!

Food was good, but it’s so awkward in there. No music or anything you just sit and eat in silence like you are in a library. Typical Dover fashion though

I’m not a fan of cranberry and turkey sandwiches but everyone else I know loves them and will make this place a mandatory visit while we are in Dover.

I love their philly cheesesteak! I get it with mayo, mushrooms, and lettuce. Must eat it fresh because it gets soggy quick! Whenever I come home I go to this location because it is always fresh and consistent. Service is not the friendliest but whatever I’m there to get their subs!

I came here with a group of flyers to stock up for a long overnight flight… I sat down to eat a delicious Cheese steak right away because I was so hungry, and very very satisfied when I consumed the last crumb. They do it right, at least, they do it right for me…
I ordered a Black & Bleu Salad to go, and it was prepared very nicely. It’s not their fault that it was soggy by the time I ate it… All the ingredients were fresh and ample.
A lot of people come here, and there’s another one over near the Air Force Base. Good Food! I recommend it!

Gets my vote for the Best Subs in Dover. Also in the winter they have good soups.

Great sandwiches! Try their «signature» sandwiches. The «Bobby» is Thsnksgiving dinner on a roll — turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce — sounds unusual but tastes great. If you’re in the mood for a hot sandwich try the «Capistrami» — pastrami, cole slaw, Russian dressing with Swiss cheese — again any unusual list but the end result is great!
