Members Plus Credit Union

I’ve been banking at this place for a little over two years and I’m about to leave. The people who work in this branch are the nastiest, least friendly bank staff I’ve ever encountered. It’s like they suck lemons all day. If they don’t know you from being there in person, frequently, they will look at you like you’re some kind of outsider who does not belong. Everyone from the tellers to the women who sit at the desks to the manager who seemingly never comes out of his office all day — all treat you like you are some kind of burden or impending perpetrator.
If you have a question or want loan information, etc., you are not allowed to approach the people at the desk like at other banks. Even though there is no sign saying so, you’re supposed to know that you write your name on a clipboard and put your butt in a chair until someone decides they’re bored with web surfing who will then leave their desk to go and look at the list to see if anyone needs service. And if you don’t know their «system» you will be sternly familiarized with it.
There is one woman in the entire credit union who can give you telephone support with online banking. And if you do not happen to call when she is at her desk and not on the phone, forget it, you are SOL. Twice I have left voice mails for this woman and never received a call back even after two days. And the one time when I pointed out to her that I had left her a voice mail three days prior, no acknowledgement, no apology, just silence on the other end of the phone.
So while I do love their low fees, lots of other banks are offering similar services these days and I’m sick of being treated like some kind of pariah when I walk in there. And can someone please explain why, if all I’m doing is depositing money into my account, I have to sign some piece of paper before they will do the transaction? I could understand if I were withdrawing money, but no institution has ever sharply said «SIGN HERE» just to deposit money into my own account.
