Last week a co-worker bought us some pasteles from here and they were really good, so this morning I stopped to get some myself. Let me tell you I’m not going back, 2 fat cows behind he counter were so rude, no good morning no thank you nothing, nasty attitude! Pastries were good but the service was terrible.

There was a guy smoking in the kitchen. I really couldn’t believe it, does not violate several restaurant codes? it took nearly 15 minutes to cook an omelette.

Go to love this place. We order breakfast from them all the time at work. They are quick and good. Breakfast sandwiches are huge. I hate juice out of a bottle so one of my favorite things is that they have freshly squeezed orange juice.

We have been getting our pastelitos here for years, but somehow I never thought of Unilocaling about it or checking in. Until one day, we needed to buy some pastelitos to a gathering on Sunday. Doral Bakery is closed, and so does our plan B cupcake place. We turn to trusty Unilocal, and find a place where everybody raves about the pastelitos being best in town. But when we bit into them, we all agreed that the bakery in Doral is better. And this Doral bakery doesn’t even have a Unilocal listing? Gross injustice. Here goes superwoman, unveiling the big Y on her shirt, to right the wrong and support her favorite little bakery. This bakery’s pastelitos are just flakier, with thinner and more layers of pastry in the crust. They have carne, cheese, guava and cheese, coconut, and a few other varieties. Go early for the best selection, often by noon they run out of some flavors. They also have sandwiches for lunch. This bakery is in the same strip mall as Divino Ceviche, just off Palmetto and north of NW25 St.
