Avoid at all cost! Their service is pretty crummy, but what really stinks is their customer service. I sold my house and called to cancel. They told me they wanted to quote me for my new house, and that until that could be done my account would be frozen. Several months later I decide to not go with them in my new house, and then I get billed for the months in between when I didn’t receive any service from them. They are completely dishonest, and make it really hard to get out of their service. I hate companies like this. PLEASE stay away!

I am really impressed with this company. compared to the competition, they are the hare that made it to the end of the race, where the rabbit failed. I met with Gary Moore in Santa Monica to discuss a home security system. He was thorough in his explanation of the services and products Devcon offered. He also was a very good listener, and new when to challenge my suggestions, for my benefit, in a very positive way. Eddie Cervantes did the installation for me. Eddie is amazing. Eddie is beyond amazing. He has the patience of a saint, to listen to my concerns as voiced, offer solutions, and go beyond what I have ever seen from any other service technician in any field. He is communicative, professional, understanding, and puts everything in a positive light. With people like Eddie, the competition should be concerned about this rising star!

Devcon security made a great impression with me on my initial conversation. Unfortunately, that is where the greatness ended. Their sales team failed to call for a scheduled telephone conversation about installation, forcing me to call another sales tech to set up an appointment. Second, their installer showed up two hours after appointed time frame window. No phone call, no nothing. Also, when I called the main office, they told me the Texas office line was offline, then they told me it was busy. So if someone was breaking in to my home and their lines were offline or busy??? You get the idea. Third, the installer shows up with the wrong order, a basic when I ordered the platinum plus, so he couldn’t have been more wrong. Fourth, I get an email, finally, from the original sales tech today, claiming I missed my appointment and would I like to reschedule!!! These people do not have their act together, at all. If you live in Florida(the home base) fine, maybe they will work for you. But for me, they will never get a chance to earn my business again.

These people get it right. As complex as security can be, this company does everything it can to provide an adequate solution to a problem most of us don’t want to think about, theft, fire and emergencies. For the average homeowner, a simple keypad and sensors on doors and the most obvious windows may do just fine. But when you oversee corporate operations like I do and must foresee potential opportunities for losses by means of physical theft, electronic theft(of data for example) or vandalism, coming up with comprehensive systems to mitigate them in an easy, and approachable way is not. So when I happened to actually speak with the director of operations of Devcon, he treated me as a top-notch client although there were others in the company that were supposed to deal with me directly. They provided concise pricing, specific timelines and a plethora of equipment choices that allowed me to include burglary protection, card access for employees and camera systems to document entrance and exit points all from a single provider. Overall, I would say that when it comes to serious security from a single company that even owns and operates it’s own UL approved monitoring central station, these are the people to turn to.
