Recommend you check this place out for dinner sometime. Price is fair, service is like that of a five star restaurant, and the atmosphere is nice and quiet. We tried their Friday night wine tasting special and really enjoyed it. We have been back several times.

It is tough finding good quality restaurants in the Doral area. What makes Chef Sammy’s such a treat, is that its staff is friendly, and professional. The food is good, and they will make anything you ask to your liking. Very accommodating. If you are in the Doral area, make sure you stop by and visit Chef Sammy’s. You will not be disappointed.

What a surprise! A wonderful experience in every way. My wife had the tilapia, I had the sea bass and my son had the black ravioli. The dishes were not just good, they were superb! Fresh, tasty with delightful sauces. The service was attentive, and the suggested entrees did not disappoint. A pet peeve I have is when restaurants serve a half glass of wine – this was a full glass of a terrific cabernet. With all this quality, you’d expect high prices, but the dishes were very reasonable. This is Manhattan-level quality at neighborhood prices.

When to Sammys for lunch. Been to the area a few times as the plaza has a great but ridiculously busy Colombian spot(Monserrate) and the best soup/panini combo this side of the 826(Capriccios). The service at Sammys was great. The food came out fast and the prices were reasonable. However, I can’t recall what I ordered as the Boys II Men CD blaring over the restaurant speakers was unsettling. Give them a try! I believe they currently have a $ 10 for $ 20 Unilocal deal.

Hands down the best Italian restaurant I’ve visited in years. The service is top notch and the food is phenomenal. For some reason I expected the place to be more casual, so I was a little surprised when I walked in. It’s not quite a white tablecloth restaurant, but a little more formal than I anticipated. It’s quiet and cozy; a great neighborhood spot and a good place to bring a date. The waitstaff is prompt and courteous, and calling them attentive is an understatement. The food is, simply put, fantastic. We ordered the Burrata Bruschetta as an appetizer, which was a great choice. The Salmone Alla Sammy’s was perfectly cooked and as savory as any I’ve ever had. My friend ordered one of the chef’s suggestions, linguine with lobster, clams, and shrimp, which was beyond delicious as well. I’m not really much of a dessert person, but given the quality of the food we had eaten so far, we decided to end the meal with an Apple Tart Alla Gelato and the Fragole Savaglione, both of which were stupendous. A cappuccino followed, also very good. I really tried to find something negative to say about this place, but I can’t. This place is the real deal; none of those so-called Italian chain restaurants come close. Sure, they may not have unlimited breadsticks, but what they do have is authentic italian fare exquisitely prepared, which trumps breadsticks any day.

Chef Sammy’s never lets me down. Their food is outstanding and their customer service is outstanding. They make you feel like family there, super nice people. They have some great lunch specials for $ 7.95 with bread, soup or salad and a pasta of the day. They also offer an extensive menu of great items, Lasagna is a must have. The Tiramisu is delicious, must have.

I’m not impressed. We went on a Sunday for lunch and we were the only ones there. I can’t complain about the service but the food was kind of blend. I actually thought there was no eggplant in my eggplant parmigiana because all I could taste was cheese and breading, the eggplant was sliced so thin I couldn’t even see it. The pasta was good, the marinara sauce was flavorful. My son ordered fettuccine alfredo and the sauce was watery, making it a mess to eat, and tasted heavily of nutmeg. My husband had a fish dish with roasted vegetables. He said it was ok. We won’t be coming back any time soon.

We ended up here since we wanted to try a new place, were craving Italian, and discovered Unilocal deals all at the same time. Chef Sammy’s was a major fail, plain and simple. Things didn’t start off that bad, though. The server was friendly and polite, and the rolls and butter brought to the table were pretty delicious. We orded their butternut squash soup of the day, fried mozzarella and mussels in white wine garlic sauce to start. All were inedibly salty — painfully salty. When I politely told the server about the salt and requested he kindly ask the chef to take it easy with the salty stuff, he looked at me as if I had just insulted his mother and things just went downhill from there. He then proceeded to tell me that«mussels come from the sea — which has salt water — so that’s why they were salty.» Oh. No. He. Didn’t. try to edumacate me on how seafood is supposed to taste. I was taken aback and left speechless by his rudeness(and massive set of balls) so I stupidly ordered gnocchi and a chicken parm to share since they were the safest options on the menu. Note: sharing isnt caring — to share there’s a $ 3.00 charge. Whatever. The food came out and it was incredibly salty — again. It must be old, dusty Publix brand Italian Breadcrumbs on my chicken. The same ones from the mozzarella. Gross. My husband wanted me to ask the waiter if the chicken also came from the salty waters of the deep blue sea… All in all, this was not a pleasant dining experience. The food was terrible, the waiter was nice until we commented on the food, and the place itself is not attractive. It could be serving Thai, Cuban, Chinese, whatever — the décor was like that of an adult day care center’s lunch room. Generic and unattractive. We will not be back nor will we recommend. Sorry Sammy!

I had not been to Chef Sammy’s in about 5 years because I stopped working in Doral and last night happened to be in the area well it was as wonderful as I remembered from the appetizers to main course you will not be disappointed the calamari and the portobello appetizers amazing and the swai fish special was out of this world and don’t forget to save room for dessert

Can’t go wrong at Sammy’s. Not only is the food cooked to perfection, but the go out of their way to make sure you’re happy every step of the way. If you want it, they’ll make it for you. If you’re in a rush, they’ll get you out wihtin your lunch hour. I go every week and look forward to it every single time. Check out the Chicken Francaise & the Eggplant Parm. Their lunch specials include salad, pasta, veggies & polenta and the prices are very reasonable. LOVEIT!!!

Good quaint little Italian place in Doral — This place has been here for quite a few years, which speaks volumes about the quality of this place. We always encounter good service here and so far have left completely satisfied after a hearty meal and a good bottle of wine. Be adventurous and try their specials, they are really good. I would almost venture to say that anything and everything in their menu will be satisfying… it is that good !

Very good and welcoming Italian restaurant. Unfortunately it’s located in a strip mall and the interior is nothing special, but the food and the service more than make up for the atmosphere. The waiters were all friendly and funny, and it was obvious they genuinely care about their customers. They were able to customize their dishes to my wife’s taste without any trouble. We had the lasagna(fantastic) and the penne alla vodka, which was good but not great. My wife enjoyed it, so I focused on the lasagna. I would recommend this restaurant to anybody looking for a cozy, casual restaurant to escape to for a nice meal at a reasonable price.

Cozy neighborhood eatery, it has been in the Doral area since there was not much to choose from. Now that there are countless restaurants in Doral, Chef Sammy’s continues to be a wonderful choice for Italian. The service is fantastic, our waiter accomodating and always told us that all we had to do was ask, and we would get whatever we wanted even if it meant changing a dish altogether. Since the food is good, changing anything is unnecessary. I had the Gnocchi Quatro fromaggio and it was cooked to perfection(Gnocchi is always a hit or miss at restaurants) and although l would have preferred baked cheese, the cheesy sauce was good. I tasted my husbands Linguine Fra Diavolo con Fruta di Mare, again, delicious. The restaurant could use décor updating, but that doesn’t matter so much when the food is good.
