I have never eaten here before and my first experience was through delivery, which has impacted one of the stars lost here.
I ordered a gyro with extra tzaziki on the side and a order of the breaded mushrooms with marinara. The wait for delivery wasn’t that terrible. BUT. I have a sign on my door that specifically says «do not ring the doorbell.» Underlined. I have two small kids and naps are precious. Delivery guy rang the bell. Twice. Woke the baby. BAD BAD BAD.
The gyro was excellent. The sauce was delicious and the meat was top notch. But the mushrooms were oil soaked and really unappetizing. The marinara saved them.
I’ll give it another shot with something else, but for the love of mercy, don’t ring my doorbell.

To say more would be an insult… I’m going to do it anyhow because Unilocal wouldn’t allow me to leave this short of a review.
Do yourself a favor and go check this place out it’s always better to call ahead but if you want it fresh and hot it’s worth standing around waiting for.

I want to say, besides the food, the gal running this place is the most pleasant, accommodating and generous person I’ve met in a long time. Thank you… oh yeah, the hot dog, fries and drink were great too!

This tiny hole in the wall is so fantastic I almost went into a food coma. Great prices but beware, while the beef sandwich is one of the greatest around, it’s freaking HUGE! Get lots of napkins and skip breakfast to enjoy this awesomesauce!

Great Chicago-​style food and awesome prices! I often visit family in Dixon, so we stop at Sow Bellies almost every time. They have a really big menu! I have tried many of the items on it, but my favorites are the Italian beef, and gyros. I have occasionally ordered their pizza too, and it is great! One thing that is nice is you can stop in and just grab a slice! Sow Bellies also delivers, which is so convenient, especially when the weather is bad, or when we are watching a football game and don’t wanna leave the house! Yum!

Excellent Chicago style hot dogs and great fries too! Gyros are great too. Daily special is hard to beat. We buy our lunch and walk down to the river front to eat – great time!

I am from chicago and my wife is from Dixon so i am here about 3 weekends a month. Eat here about 1 time a month. I usually get the beef or gyro with cheese fries. Both have not dissapointed. Beef is nice size. Gyro is nice as well. I would reccommend eating here.

It is ok for Dixon it is not Chicago. Dry bun. The bug sprayer came when I was there I had a bad hot dog I think it was deep fried! I will try it again. And let you know. Seating is 3 bar stools
