Empty and chained shut when my wife and I tried to go there tonight.

Well, after ready the reviews I was ready for some good Mexican food. So very disappointed in the whole experience. The service sucked, the iced tea tasted like coffee, they screwed up my order, and the food when it finally arrived was small in portion and was not very tasty. Not all happy and will not be back.

I took my family here for a Friday night, impromptu dinner. I saw the above average reviews from other Unilocalers so I thought, «what the heck». The atmosphere is a bit rundown, but I’ll never let that deter me from finding excellent cuisine. As a matter of fact, some of my favorite culinary establishments are nothing more than worn down, holes in the wall. But I digress… The chips and salsa were bad. The chips were a bit over cooked for my liking; the salsa was lacking any real flavor. I ordered the fiesta nachos with chile verde. I know, I just had the chips that I didn’t like, and yet I ordered more? Trust me, I know. My wife had the enchilada and chile relleno plate. So at this point, they’re earning 4 stars. I like to start my ratings high, and then see where the experience takes me. Well, after they took our order we waited a good 30 minutes. Now in a busy restaurant, I can understand, but there was only one other family eating. Anyway, let’s get to the food. My fiesta nachos were a giant plate of mediocricy. The pork in the chile verde was dry, the melted cheese was barely warm, and the refried beans were almost nonexistent. And the chips… well, I’ve already explained that. My wife told me her food was ok. The highlight of the meal were the two french fries I stole from my 2 year old’s plate… it was a sad experience.

I had dinner«alone.» I had the pleasure of having an hour long conversation with both owners. Made me feel like family. A very nice place to have a meal. Very reasonable prices and big portions. I had the Burrito Mojado with chicken, fantastic.

I visited this restaurant today with my colleagues and we were all very pleasantly surprised with the outcome. There is a large flag outside that reads something along the lines of, «100% authentic Mexican food.» I found this to be an interesting advertisement, because Dinuba has many Mexican restaurants. The menu was split in half, one side offering American food and the other, Mexican food. An interesting, yet compatible pair. I chose the wet burrito with chile verde. My colleagues chose similar items, such as tacos, enchiladas, burritos and one opted for a classic burger because she was expecting tacos for dinner.(Which ended up being another burger haha) After taking our order, our waitress brought out two really nice thick glass pitchers of water and tea. She said, very politely, I’d like to let you know that I will be cooking your food now and may not be back for 10 minutes. Wait. What? Did she… What!?! How cool is that!?! We were all pretty impressed with this level of service for a less than $ 10 meal and how cool is it to have all in one service! About 10 minutes later our waitress returned with our food. Presentation was very acceptable for the cost and location. I’ve attached some pictures of the food from today. There was nothing but good things coming from my colleagues about the food. It was great! Seriously authentic food. I felt like I was eating at someone’s house and not downtown in Dinuba. In a good way! Our waitress was highly attentive and was eager to provide top notch service. As we were finishing up our food, we were once again surprised beyond belief at what our $ 10 was paying for. Our waitress came out with scoops of ice cream, drizzled in chocolate. Whaaaat!?! Wow. I’m stunned. Please give this local gem a try. If my experience is par, you’ll love this place.

Burrito mojado with Chile Verde was outright delicious and just enough spice to make it interesting…

Good homemade Mexican food with homemade tortillas! Can’t ask for more than that. The burrito I got was humongous but I ate it all. A little less sour cream would have been good. At most places I want the sour cream but the chile verde sauce was so delicious I didn’t want the sour cream to mask the flavor. A very liberal use of cheese made the homemade retried beams a little too cheesy for my taste, but overall the beans were good. Hard to beat for the quality and price. It only suffers because there are other equally good places nearby that you can afford to be picky but I hope this place stays in business! It’s good.

Found this little gem by chance on Unilocal… Ordered 2 breakfast burritos, pretty simple task. They out shined in every category. From the scratch made tortilla to the final execution when I got back to the hotel to dive in. Exceeded all expectations! Well Done!

Good mexican food! Nothing real fancy but serves decent tortas and burritos. The owners are really nice and very accomodating. Perfect for a quick lunch.

Great breakfast burritos! Got a sausage one and it was big enough for two people. They also have bacon, chorizo, ham and linguica. They have menudo on the weekend and burgers and sandwiches. Saw some people eating a huge wet burrito… looked really good. Service is really nice and it’s good to see a mom and pop business opening in downtown. I highly recommend!
