I thought I already reviewed this, wut? Anyways, much love to the restaurant staff and Jessica who planned this out. The location is in a pretty much dead area. There used to be a kmart nearby but closed down a few years ago so the only thing left in this plaza is this and a small Indian market next door. I actually became a bit lost looking for this place, I tend to drive by this place and didn’t notice it was here. The seating holds an intimate number of tables, it’s not a large restaurant. The staff was friendly and willing to explain what was being given since some things I didn’t know. The hostess and cook came to each table explaining what was to come during the night. We had water and mango lassi which was delicious. There were several type of appetizers: veg pakora, papri chat which was my favorite since the ingredients in it didn’t seem like it would go well together but they do. There was also a cracker-like appetizer that had two different sauces(tamarind and mint based) that went with it. The tables were given chef special rice which had almonds in it, very moist and flavorful tandoori chicken which wasn’t dyed with artificial colors since the cook does not like to put artificial colors and flavors into his cooking. They also brought out chicken tikki masala which was great. The pickled onions went well with the chicken. The garlic naan was delicious as well. The dal bukhara, which is a lentil stew, was my favorite aside from the tandoori chicken. The palak aloo was tasty as well. Our desserts were moong halwa which reminded me of the filling that goes into mooncakes and galub jamun, a sweet syrupy little ball of fried dough. I had a great time meeting fellow Unilocalers here.
