This place is just your average fast food Chinese restaurant. It was on the greasy side for me and I didnt finish most of my dish. Meh.

This place is hit or miss. Usually miss. A good chinese fast food always has their steam table full and fresh. Not this place. They let every item sit in that pan until it sells, including the rice and chow mein. Today I came in at 3pm. I usually get Kung Pao. There was like I serving left in the pan… and there wasn’t much chicken… mostly a bunch if zucchini. There were 3 old looking pieces of teriyaki. And the noodles looked old and dry. To their credit the Orange Chicken was piled high. And there was about one serving of broccoli beef with 2 or 3 visible pieces of beef. Maybe if this place stopped being greedy and offered fresh quality food they would have more customers. I left and went to China Bowl Express.

NEVER coming back. Mr. Wok used to be really good. Unfortunately, it has gone downhill. Fried rice was bland, orange chicken sauce was ok but the chicken wasn’t crispy and the bbq pork was beyond sad — boiled and too fatty. And oh, server was unresponsive and gave me a side eye but i’ll give her the benefit of the doubt — Might just be her resting B face.

Never coming back again. Or at least never eat the Kung Pao Chicken(the only thing I tried). Looks like Panda Express, with dishes like broccoli beef and mushroom chicken, but based on the Kung Pao chicken experience, I will have to assume they probably taste no where close.(Panda Express is actually very good.)

First time here for lunch today for a chow mein craving and was not satisfied. Got just chow mein and rice, the chow mein was hard to finish… just not very good. Definitely don’t recommend.

My family has been using Mr. Wok for years now, we’ve been living around the corner for 16 years. I like the traditional Chinese fast food, all the good stuff like sweet and sour pork and chicken. There is a new owner that has made some changes, if they don’t have something in the pan they make it right then so it is fresh. The rice isn’t as greasy as the last owner, and they still give good portions. So I give it a good grade and love to eat here.

I live just around the corner and we come here all the time. Super cheap and he packs the to-go box FULL. More food and less money than Panda Express, and it’s better!

Got to love cheap chinese fast food. No fuss. Just pick couple items with some greasy noodles and ur on ur way. Its a comfortable feeling to be able to get here and be eating in mins. For the times when i forgot to eat anything all day. I feel a little better than having a cheeseburger n fries.

Pros: value priced lunch-special, bowl with rice/noodles and 2 items for $ 4.75(includes drink+1 refill). Cons: vegetables did not taste fresh(rubbery/limp in texture); to the kiddos, the orange chicken tasted nothing like Panda’s; chow mein was relatively tasteless, just salty/greasy.

My boyfriend and I have been coming here since high school, almost 8 years now, and we both agree it’s one of our favorite spots. We’ve always been remembered fondly by the usual woman who works there(I’ve never gotten her name, sadly) and she always gives us generous portions for such low pricing. They’re good is always fresh and delicious. Definitely a must try if you haven’t already. I love this place with all my heart

Terrible service, terrible food and they skimp you on the meat First the lady that was«helping» me started talking on her cell phone and not filling my box with food at all, I had to remind her I was still there and still wating, then she bearly puts on any of the pork. I’m paying to eat rice and noodles… So I just left, honestly their food is not even the best in quality I went there because it was close to my job But if they have sucky food and service I don’t care going farther I will never go back there again

When you take your first step in, it looks like your typical chinese fast food restaurant however when i went there on a Saturday evening around 7pm it was empty and the food selection was literally your fried rice, chow mein, orange chicken(with 5 pieces in the tray), kung pao(with all vegi’s and no chicken), black bean chicken, and egg rolls and that was it. Literally no exaggeration. The portion was generous however the only thing that bothered me was that i saw a whole bunch of fruit flies all over the food flying. Im very generous when it comes to reviews and do not usually write a review unless it is exceptionally bad or rude

Comparing to other similar style American Chinese fast food, Mr Wok is mediocre at best. Portions are generous and fine but selection is minimal. I went around 1pm this past Thursday and there were a lot of items missing. Ordered Teriyaki Chicken and Sweet and Sour Pork with Fried Rice and Chow Mein. Portions were okay, Fried Rice and Chow Mein were alright. Bad: Teriyaki Chicken was terribly dry and the sauce tasted more similar to black soy sauce than Teriyaki sauce. Sweet and Sour pork had bones in it. With Wok Restaurant just down Diamond Bar blvd, skip this place and head over on over to Wok Restaurant.

New owners are extremely nice and you definitely get what you pay for. I don’t know what the others are talking about because I receive my food hot and my favorite is definitely the broccoli beef and fried rice. The quality of the food has gone up ever since the old owner left, and the new owner is not afraid of giving you large portions! They are always so kind and leave me smiling the restaurant every time. The quality of the restaurant has also gone up and it is well kept. Prices are fair and sometimes they give me a free drink! Great service, most definitely. I’m surely coming back again and again!

If you want to eat spongy tough old tasting noodles with slimy broccoli beef and tough fried rice then this is place for you. Otherwise do not go there. I have lived in Diamond Bar for 25 years and grew up eating Mr. Wok. I went to grab a bite yesterday and had not been there is few years. When I took the first bite my tongue met chewy noodles that tasted like old oil. The quality of food has gone way down. I would say do not go there!

I do have been coming to Mr. walk for the past year and a half previously the old owner did not take care of the place and overcharged and do not care about the quality of the food however the new owner he spends the time to make sure that each meal his craft to carefully and dust is delicious the prices are still the same with a food quality has gone up drastically. I work locally and whenever I need to stopping to grab a quick bite this is usually my go to place I was ordering the broccoli beef and also pork chop. If you’re looking for a good deal typically during lunchtime you can order a combo number two which includes rice or noodles and two sides

Seriously not half bad… from the outside you could brush off as another noodle and rice packed styrofoam restaurant but you review it for the food right? The wonton soup was really good, loaded with wontons and shrimp. Eggrolls were crispy, greasy, and awesome as they should be. Soup was a bit to pricey and the flies to plenty to get 4 or 5 stars but the food you will come back for.

Came here after my daughter’s soccer practice. Kids wanted McDonald’s and daddy did too, but mama said, «No, let’s eat a little healthier» so we came here since we had seen it earlier when we went to the Chase bank that’s next to it. So what we basically have here is your regular mom and pop kind of Chinese fast food joint where the food is out there on a line in trays, sitting under rather heat lamps. And that’s exactly how the food here tasted: like it was sitting under heat lamps. For a long, long time. Granted, it was around 8 pm, but who knows if some of those items had t been sitting there since 8 am? Kudos to them though, because there’s a sign on the wall that says they’ll make any item fresh after 8 pm, if its not there, so I was glad to be able to get fresh beef broccoli until I ate it and discovered that it was flavorless, which WOULD explain why old papa-San walked to the back and immediately came out with the«fresh» beef broccoli. The best part of the meal for me was the chow mein with both the noodles and the veggies in it perfectly done and full of flavor. Unfortunately the following items had no flavor, unless you count old and rubbery as a flavor: sweet and sour pork, teriyaki chicken, orange chicken and last but not least, the fried rice. WTH? Maybe we need to come back and try this place again, but not so close to closing time?

Located in a strip mall near CVS, this rather unassuming mom and pop Chinese restaurant doesn’t stick out. A few days ago, my girlfriend was in the mood for Chinese; she told me that years ago, Mr. Wok was her daily go-to place for lunch. Therefore, we found ourselves having lunch here. I will admit, the prices are quite afffordable here; our lunch special(1 entrée with either rice, lo mein, or half and half, eggroll, and drink) was less than 6 bucks. Even the 3 item combos were under $ 8 — and with the amount of food they ladle out here, it’s a steal! I didn’t think the fried rice was too bad, and the lo mein wasn’t too sticky. The sweet and sour pork could have been a bit more crispy; while I wanted to try the kung pao chicken, it didn’t have peanuts in it.(Sorry, but that’s a thing with me… in my opinion, kung pao chicken should have peanuts in it.) Also, while my eggroll was full of veggies, the owner/cook came out with a fresh one when my girlfriend got the last one off the steam table. In terms of ambiance, Mr. Wok is pretty quiet. As some other Unilocalers noted, there’s a small TV on near the entrance, and to be honest, I liked being able to dine with my girl by ourselves. There were other diners that came by later to pick up their takeout orders, or dine in as well. While not the best Chinese that I’ve had, the amount of the food that you’re given at the price point is much better than at chain restaurants like Panda Express. And, hey, there’s something to be said about local businesses(even if the owners/cooks’ English isn’t that great).
