Had Miguel as our sever, he was a very pleasant server. We came on a Saturday night and it was packed! From my past experiences at several other Brazilian steakhouses, I feel as though there were not enough Gauchos for the extremely packed restaurant. Food was fantastic. The sushi rolls and black beans were so good from the buffet! Will definitely be returning.

Similar to Gaucho in Northville, this place was pretty good for dinner. Their fried bananas are as little different than gaucho but still good. I would have to say that their salad bar is top of the line with many choices. You can find parking on the street or in a nearby structure.

If you’re a meat enthusiast and enjoy medium-rare to damn near raw, this place is for you. Haven’t had the privilege to test the pork but it looks delish and the chicken is average. Plenty of carbs offered at the buffet and the salad bar looked nice.

I chose this restaurant because it sounded like a very interesting place that I have never been. We made a reservation my fiancé, me and two other couples were seated. Our waiter came right over to greet us but unfortunately the place was very loud and our waiter was very quiet with a Brazilian accent. I have never been there so I have no idea how the whole process worked. Our entire table was given one menu to look at drinks. As he stood there speaking I think, he was moving his lips but I could not comprehend anything he was saying. He then stood there waiting for our tables order of drinks. I unfortunately did not get a chance to brows the drink menu so I settled quickly on a water. I also did not hear the intro so I did not know how it worked such as the soup/salad bar, when or how to summon the guys carrying the very large stake and knife combos around. I really enjoyed the food, if I go again I will have some idea of how it works. Maybe next time I plan to spend $ 130 on a dinner for two, my waiter will be a little more enthusiastic!

Yes, a Churascaria is a Brazilian type of restaurant. The tradition of the gauchos and the mountains of meat they’ll be serving you is pretty accurate on what you would expect from a Churascaria in Brazil. The only thing I can think of that’s a miss in this restaurant is their fejola. But then, I’m not here to eat Brazilian black bean stew. I’m here to throw down on a monumental amount of yummy meats. All you need to learn in this restaurant is that«green» means go, and«red» means stop. Unless it’s pork or chicken, their standard of meats is medium rare. If you don’t like your steak done that way, there’s a coney island down a few blocks from here. I’m sure they’ll cook your steak to order. They’ll even give you some A1 steak sauce to smother it with. Doesn’t that sound great? My go to meats here are the Sirloin signature, that’s the one marinated in their secret recipe spices cooked to medium rare perfection. That and the leg for lamb and the lamb rib tenderloin. YAAAASSSSSSS!!! I dream about them every night. If they made a poster of those two, I would post it on the ceiling right above my bed. The service is great, the host, the waiters and the gauchos take exceptional care of us. I love you Texas de Brazil. I’ll see you again next time my friend. As someone who loves meat, this place is a dream come true. They have servers walking around with plates of various types of meat, and it’s basically an all-you-can-eat meat buffet. They do have a gigantic salad bar too, and it’s easy to get full on just that. One cool part is that they give you a cinnamon banana that helps to cleanse your pallet in-between each plate so that every meat type doesn’t taste the same. One small gripe is that the meat is generally on the rarer side. Even after asking the wait staff for more«medium» meat(and having to wait for them to go in the back and cook it more), it still came out on the rarer side. Bottom line: If you like an expensive never-ending supply of every kind of rare meat you can imagine, this is the place for you.

Made the decision to dine eat upon the recommendation of my wife who decided to treat her parents to dinner during our trip home. Needless to say we were not disappointed as we got more than what we bargained for. The wait staff was very attentive which helped considering it was our first visit here. The first thing you will notice about this restaurant is its extensive salad bar. Of course, the meat is all the rave and rightfully so as the cuts were plentiful and dripping with flavor. If you are in search of a fine dining experience this is certainly the place to be!

Awesome food at this restaurant … I had heard of it prior to our visit today … Glad to have had a great time with a huge salad bar with a bunch of meat that starts the minute you sit down with the salad plate … Loved it and Josh was awesome and thanks for the introduction Devin

Great food, good atmosphere, excellent customer service and beautifully decorated. Makes for a nice date night especially being located across from campus martious. It’s kinda expensive at $ 25 for lunch and $ 45 for dinner(per person) but it’s all you can eat and making reservations would be a wise choice. You should definitely give this place a try!

My family has been to this restaurant twice now. We’ve loved it both times For a restaurant that is all about the meat, the truly spectacular thing here is the«everything else that isn’t meat» buffet table. If you like lobster bisque, this has some of the best in town.

So far, just ok for me. Needs improvement for single eating customers! I complained on Unilocal, got a 10 $ off digital coupon. Not bad, but I paid for parking 3 times to get 1 meal. «two Saturday blow offs and the one discounted meal». So the weekday meal, which the coupon was only good for, they were a third full, tops. Gave me a Shit table, all the servers were just whizzing pass me with the meat. The waitress tried to get it right. Got tired of waiting and just wanted to leave. But I’m very disappointed, I won’t be back anytime soon. They have a few problems to work out. I live, work and eat downtown, so no room for places that waste my time and money. Gave a extra 3rd star for a weak effort. To be positive, instead of just complaints, gave up the extra star. The food is still very good.

Where to begin… my dining experience failed on every front. My girlfriend said«I’d rather go to McDonald’s than back to that place.» Our reservations were for 9:00PM. We arrived a little early, and was told they were running a little behind and it would be thirty minutes before we were seated. Thirty minutes went by, and we were still waiting. I went up to inquire when we would be seated, and was told they had no idea. I don’t mind waiting, but it annoyed me they weren’t even able to tell me how long we were expected to wait. Eventually we were seated over an hour past our reservation time. The food is supposed to be served medium rare. With the exception of the beef rib, which made it out table once, EVERYTHING was over-cooked, super dry, and salty. Also only half of the meat offerings made it to our table… I assume we were seated at the end of the path the carvers took and they ran out of meat before getting to our table. I have been to similar type restaurants before, and have enjoyed them. This place was just terrible. This was review was going to be one star, but I would go back to the place if someone else was paying for it… hence two stars.

My experience at Texas de Brazil was with a group of 30 of us for a birthday. We got a private room close to the salad & appetizer. Service was excellent. Even with a party that size, we all got our drinks very quickly. I very much loved the lobster bisque and a great selection of cheese. I was impressed with just about all of the meat that was offered and the whipped potatoes were to die for! Be sure to order dessert… I got to try little bites of 3 – 4 desserts and they were all remarkable. And to the servers– thanks for a great service. They were able to give us 15+ separate checks.

The Beau and I wanted to try dinner here. Before starting, we got some drinks: a beer and a caipirinha, boy was this strong! Our server brought out the bananas, mashed potatoes, and bread. I wanted to try some items in the salad bar. I really like the meat and cheese spread, but my favorite thing at the salad bar was the marinated cold shrimp! The California rolls were okay… a bit too much vinegar in the rice. I shouldn’t have eaten these, but I am a sucker for rice. The lobster bisque had way too much heavy cream. The bananas were way too sweet, but the mashed potatoes and bread were delicious. Now on to the meats. I tried everything but the chicken wrapped in bacon. My favorites were the sirloin and flank steak. My least favorites were the lamb and garlic steak/pork. I was expecting more top cuts for the price during dinner, but what made me give this place 4 stars is because of the top notch service. Our server could see we were itching for something else, and asked if we’d like a different temp on our favorite cut. 5 mins later, a rare top sirloin skewer sword came by. For overall value, food is 3. Service bummed it up to 4.

Amazing restaurant!!! The food is great and the service is the same! I will definitely recommend and I will be back for my next celebration! The Parmesan pork is my favorite and the russet potatoes and mashed potatoes are wonderful! The give you a dessert of your choice for your birthday celebration. I chose the Brazilian cheesecake-caramel on top with nuts and fudge in the bottom…

This is a tough review for me. We ended up having a really good meal and a mojito that was fabulous. However, that was after my blood pressure was taken to extreme places. We had an 8pm reservation. We showed up at 8pm promptly. Actually a few minutes early. Upon arriving we were told that we were«checked in»(first sign of trouble.) At 8:50 we were seated. Now I get that this is the kind of place that is probably difficult to gauge eat times but, to me, this is inexcusable. The other part that really bothered me was a few minutes before they sat us I approached the hostess stand and was voicing my displeasure. The manager was there and just walked away, leaving the hostess to deal with it. Just not cool. Again, once we sat down the food was solid. They have a good salad bar packed with all sorts of nice things including some nice dipping items for the meat. The meat selections were all good. You receive a little round laminated button that has a green and a red side. This lets the meat servers know if they should approach you. I highly recommend the lamb chops and the garlic beef. They bring you garlic mashed potatoes and sugar coated sautéed bananas which apparently cleanse your palette between meats. It’s a unique dining experience that I really wish I could wholeheartedly recommend. Maybe it was just an off night but I just can’t endorse a restaurant that leaves me waiting almost an hour beyond my reservation.

Quite possibly one of the best restaurants ive ever been to. Not sure if it’s a chain? But it appears to be since their questionnaire card asked for location preference. Their service is IMPECCABLE. Every sip of water came with an automatic refill. Its about $ 50 a person here but its completely worth it at least for the experience. Their buffet section was insane. I thought it would be like the other buffet sections ive seen at brazilian steakhouses. A few green salads, veggies, and some breads. No. This place has lobster bisque(which was so creamy & the perfect amount of salt), a full charcuterie selection, grilled veggies, shrimp salad, smoked salmon, tabouli, and so much more. You automatically get the famous cheese bread, garlic mash, and caramelized banana delivered to your table. Their signature drink which we got in strawberry was sooooo good. I dont like alcohol and this was the perfect drink. I could barely taste the alcohol not to say there wasnt any. The guachos were super attentive and were very focused on getting everyone their meat! I loved the red meats because they were cooked medium to medium rare, my preferred method. The manager frequently visited all the tables to make sure everything was going well and made sure all the meat was cooked and seasoned to our liking. Seriously amazing. This gives LA a run for their money.

I have been in love with the gluttonous Brazilian BBQ concept since a bachelor party in Chicago almost ten years ago. After trying a severely disappointing competitor in Northville, I was resigned to the fact that I would need to drive to Chicago or Indianapolis for a good B-BBQ experience. Then I happened upon Texas de Brazil. The format is familiar but the quality is a notch above. As with their famous competitor in many other big cities, TdB has temptingly delicious salad bar. I always start with a delicious salad with their amazing balsamic vinaigrette dressing and a sampling of salted meats, olives, and cheeses. I have also never passed on their lobster bisque — it’s in the top three soups I’ve ever had at any restaurant in my life. The sides(mashed potatoes and friend plantains) are delicious distractions from the main course. And this is where the place shines brighter than any other. The meats are plentiful, varied, and cooked to perfection. My personal favorites are the picanha and the garlic sirloin, but realistically I’ve never had a meat here I didn’t like. This place is also incredibly well-run. The servers are pleasant and willing to go above and beyond to make sure every guest has the meat he/she chooses, cooked to the temperature of his/her choosing. New plates are offered frequently. Drinks are refilled often. If you leave to use the restroom, you’ll often find your napkin re-folded(or a new napkin) upon your return. It’s the little touches that make this place not just a meal, but a pampered experience. Since it’s a pricey meal, I reserve TdB for special occasions every few months. Sometimes that occasion is «I really, really want some of that lobster bisque.» Try it out — but bring a heavy appetite and be ready for the meat sweats.

Gauchos vs. Texas de Brazil(review made after visiting two steakhouses five days apart) TIP: Don’t eat for 8 hours prior to dining at ANY Brazilian Steakhouse! Unlimited meat is such an unhealthy yet glorious thing. I kept seeing reviews for Gauchos and Texas de Brazil and couldn’t decide where to celebrate. I decided on Gauchos for my birthday because it was closer. Five days later, I attended a birthday dinner for another friend at Texas de Brazil. I seriously could become vegetarian now. Here are my notes, I hope it helps you with your decision! Good luck! Parking and Birthday Perks GAUCHOS — free private lot, free bottle of white or red wine and dessert(cheesecake, flan, ice cream) TDB –street parking $ 1/hour(bring change!) or $ 10 parking lot(email rewards & monthly specials) *Stronger Point: Gauchos parking is more convenient and their bottle of free cabernet and free dessert offer beats the $ 25 birthday discount from TDB. Ambiance and Service GAUCHOS — White table clothes in a dimly lit restaurant(Similar to J. Alexanders). The manager made his rounds to ensure everyone enjoyed their dining experience and asked if there were any particular cuts of meat we were still waiting for. It took about 2 hours for all the cuts of meat. I was waiting on the rack of lamb for over two hours and saw waiters give those cuts to the guests who were seated after us. We had to ask a few servers for lamb before we were finally served our cut. I felt like the carvers forgot our table. TDB — You know that feeling that you when you dine at an established restaurant chain at Orlando Studios? I felt like I was on vacation when I visited TDB. The décor blew me away. It was romantic and contemporary and provided such an exotic escapism. The carvers and waiters work harmoniously and the service was fast. All the cuts of meat were presented to our table within the hour. We visited TDB with a group of 14 friends, so we were very impressed at the fast service –especially since we sat in the back and behind a wall. I’m happy they didn’t forget about us! *Stronger point: Texas de Brazil. Meat Apocolaypse GAUCHOS– My favorites were the rack of lamb and filet mignon. Most of the protein selections were prepared medium rare. However, the pork tenderloin cuts were super dry and gritty. You could tell that most guests weren’t a big fan of anything outside of the beef or lamb. Although I loved the rack of lamb, I was not a fan of the leg of lamb. I got a cut on the outer leg that was slightly charred and I left it on my plate because it was dry and too tough. The carver noticed this but still rushed off to the next table. Overall, the experience was good but inconsistent and the complete menu took a two hours to come around. My husband and I sat in the back, and felt that the meat carvers forgot about us. I went to the salad bar a few times and our dirty plates kept littered the table. TDB– I got the salad bar, but 90% of our party ordered the meat. I couldn’t do it. I still felt like I was digesting meat from 5 days ago. From what I saw, the garlic steak was a favorite. Most cuts were medium rare but I noticed a few were pretty rare. I’m sure my friends could have asked for less rarity if it really bothered them. I mean there was legit blood sitting in the center of a cut. No thank you… But everyone finished their selection. If there was a small piece of protein left on their plate, it was because they were going to explode. Our plates were cleared accordingly. I never came back to a dirty plate. As for the service of their carvers… The staff were very engaged with their customers. I heard one carver say«Oh, that actually had a bit of fat on that cut, would you like another?» *Stronger Point: Texas de Brazil for the amazing customer service and for shorter wait time for meat The Salad Bar GAUCHOS — The Ahi Tuna melts in your mouth. Like a dream. I could have just ate that as my salad bar! TDB– Cilantro lime shrimp that was already deveined and peeled, artichoke hearts, garlic infused olives, sushi and prosciutto, rice, bella mushrooms, fresh mozzarella, asparagus. **Stronger Point: TDB For a larger variety in salad bar and because the lobster bisque is on point. Gaucho’s lobster bisque pales in comparison. Desserts Both restaurants have brilliant and savory desserts. A surprise hit was the Papaya Milkshake from TDB.(It’s like a butter pecan milkshake with a peach color). DELICIOUS!!! Tied for dessert score. . And all points considering, the winner is: Texas de Brazil!!! Although Gauchos is a few minutes from my apartment. I would rather drive out to Detroit and hunt for street parking for my next Brazilian Steakhouse experience.
