This place is awesome! If you are looking for a place to kill an hour or so, definitely check out the Red Bull House of Art. The gallery is extremely well curated. The space itself is very interesting. I had never been in a building that made me feel like a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle before! Definitely recommend.

Red Bull House of Art is a great resource for emerging or established artists or art lovers in general! They provide a residency program with individual funding for each artist as well as studio space. They host several events during each cycle of artists that are free and open to the public. It’s organizations like these that are helping to enable art to thrive in Detroit. It benefits everyone! The gallery is open Saturdays 10AM-3PM. Next time you’re grabbing fresh veggies from eastern market, stop in and have a look around!

What a gem we stumbled upon today! Had no idea about this place until it was mentioned on our walking tour today. So glad we backtracked and stopped in. Very open floor plan, in a hip and modern building. Everyone was very chill and you could move as fast or as slow as you wanted through the exhibits. Love that the artists are residents and that you can walk through their work area. Of course i had my favorite but to each their own! Also loved the artist bios on the wall near the Red Bull bar! Would love to attend an event here. In a super cool area of the D with another gallery(although maybe temporary?) across the street and lots of fun street art to look at.

One of my favorite parts of Detroit’s art scene. Red Bull HoA selects resident artists that rotate through the studio, where they focus on producing what they love and then displaying it to the public on Saturdays during the Eastern Market. The building is basically a gentrified warehouse and the first floor is where the residents work. If you go on a Saturday, you can hang out with the resident artists and talk with them as they paint, etc. After that, head downstairs to the gallery. There, completed works are displayed next to a tiny number on a thumb tack that you can use to look up each work’s price if you are interested. You can browse the whole gallery in about ten minutes, but the art in invariably outstanding and I highly recommend it. It draws from a lot of College of Creative Studies talent in Detroit, and a lot of the art has contemporary and urban undertones. I’ve heard that they also throw parties about once a month. I can’t go to the one in July, but will update this review as soon as I’m able to attend! Stop by the Red Bull House of Art whenever you are in the Eastern Market!

I love this place. They throw events every so often that are free admission, free alcohol, and a free bike valet. There is always amazing art on display and great djs too. It really caters to my kind of people.
