I don’t know about what this business was like before, but I got the worst service from this person. I was insulted and he had my shoes for 2 years and no repair. I took my boots there 2 years ago because my husband was getting his orthopedic shoes from him. He seem like a nice enough guy then. So I took my boots and a pair of heels to him. He talked about himself so much and showed off his awards I said to myself give him a try. Well today after much stress being yelled at I got my boots. Two weeks prior to this my husband called to see if my boots were ready. !!! He asked my husband to measure my calf again (mind you this is the second measurement after the first! When we went to pick up my husbands shoes they still weren’t ready. He had me make an appointment Friday 1÷15÷16 to pick up my boots (which I had to rearrange my schedule for and going downtown is no joke)), and when I got there he wasn’t there. I called him and he said he was in Ann Arbor. Oh and by the way it was two pair of foot wear he had for me. A pair of red shoes that he had for a year and my boots 2 years. If he would stop bragging about himself and his business so much he can remember what he is doing and what he was suppose to be doing. He ended up giving me my heels for free because it took so long for him to do them (a year!).
I would not write this review if he did not yell at me or lie or make excuses about returning calls or having my boots ready. Business is business, Good customer service is good customer service. I told him I was writing this too. He told me he didn’t care sooooooo. here it is. And they are always talking about supporting «Black Businesses». SMH Well he lost ours!

Mr. Ray has done incredible work on two pairs of footwear for me, a pair of dress shoes and snow boots. Both times his service has been fast, friendly, and I got more than I expected. I get orthopedic lifts for my shoes so I can’t mess around with measurements or work because the stability of my back is at stake with these shoes. Mr. Ray does not mess around. Not only did he do the orthopedic lifts for me, he also polished the shoes and put on snow-​proof soles on them. Overall I highly recommend his services to anyone that needs work on their shoes.
I should also mention, I’ve been to professional orthotics/​prosthetics specialists for my orthopedic lifts before. Mr. Ray’s work is far superior and he doesn’t turn down shoes that I want built up — something I can’t say for the orthotics people I’ve worked with before!
