Located in the Detroit airport. had an early flight with a couple hours to kills. so wanted to do a breakfast sit down before the flight. Ordered the croissaint, bacon eggs and cheese with hash browns. the food was good. the croissant was nice and flaky. the deduction on the stars was from the service. The server didnt check up on her once after dropping off our meals. no coffee refills and we had to flag down someone else to help us.

I love a really good chicken shawarma sandwich… There are about a half dozen near my work, and I only go to one or two that are the best. Mezza’s is really good. I went to the to-go counter but turned down the refrigerated container of pre made sandwiches and asked if they would make a fresh one from the restaurant side. They did and warned it would take 15 minutes. Took about 6. The sandwich is awesome, and it comes with a small salad all in a small container that would be easy to bring on my flight. It didn’t last that long though I inhaled it.

You would think that a place in the airport would be fast. 30 minutes plus for a breakfast sandwich. Gonna miss flight if not here soon. Not good.

The food is not good. Both burgers were overlooked. Service is poor and with other options in the Detroit airport, I definitely wouldn’t eat here again.

Quickie lunch review: 3.5 stars Their menu looks great and has lots of fresh, healthy options which I appreciate in comparison to all the burger bars in airports. I ordered a Greek salad with chicken(they had 3 options of chicken to top it with, nice!) and a Diet Coke for $ 19.15. Not bad for an airport and the salad was decently sized and very fresh. Dressing was a it bland but there were a good amount of toppings so it was very good. Service was pleasant but as mentioned below, being that this is in an airport and I was one of the only patrons ordering food, it was pretty slow. Took about 15 – 20 minutes for my salad to be prepped and delivered and I didn’t see more than 1 other table ordering food. Either way I’d probably stop by again for the food options, they have a large menu and everything was so fresh — it was refreshing!

I stopped in on my way from DTW-PITT. The hostess was extremely friends to start. I asked to be sat by the window, and she made that happen. I was quickly greeted by an older woman who turned out to be one of the best servers I have ever had. I was offered a Detroit made beer, and was extremely happy with it. i tried the Lamb burger, and was very impressed with the juiciness of the burger. As I was leaving, Wanda asked if I would like a piece of Baklava to-go, and I happily took it. I will definitely be back when I return to Detroit.

In an airport, I expect the food service to run with swiftness. From being seated(if there are seats available), to order being taken, cooked, brought to the table and then check presented and collected, it should be snappy. Quick, quick, quick, without time wasted. That did not happen this evening at Mezza. I did manage to snag a seat at the bar facing into the oven area. I placed an order for the lamb burger, medium. And a beer. The beer arrived promptly. The burger did not. 14 minutes. Yes, I timed it. When it arrived, I handed my waitress my credit card and asked her for a box. A couple minutes later, I had the card back. I had to flag down a DIFFERENT waitress for the box. The burger went in and I ate it on the plane. The burger was pretty good — not great. The beer was also pretty good, but $ 9.75 for a pint of a locally produced beer is craziness. Even at airport prices, that’s excessive. I don’t believe that I’ll be back to Mezza any time soon.

Bad service. Bad food. Bad. Bad. Bad. I wanted to get Popeye’s but didn’t want to deal with the grease and grime, so I thought Mezza would be a good healthy option that would keep me full. I ordered what was basically inedible steak kabobs with bland rice and some other food I also couldn’t eat. The worst part was it was $ 25. FORLUNCH. The servers were all over the place and my waiter forgot my order. I hate it when they try to do it from memory, because the NEVER remember. I was so pissed I ended up going to Popeye’s anyways before my flight boarded.

Mezza mediterranean grill is awesome! For starters… The host Ashley is amazing! Very professional and friendly… not to mention beautiful! Our server Genevieve was quick and attentive. She had many table’s but kept up very well. I ordered chicken kabobs and my husband had the Chicken ceaser salad with an order of their freshly made to order pita bread! It was to die for! Hot and fluffy pita bread with and oil/herb combination… I ordered a side of hummus because the bread deserved hummus! Sooo yummy. We both enjoyed our meals very much and we even had time for drinks! Nice selection of beer and cocktails. We had the motor city brew which was awesome! Way to go Mezza! First time guest but we’ll be back! Highly recommend!

Cooks need to get it together. Two days in a row they«didn’t see my order» and started making it after I had been waiting 20 mins already. I heard the person who rang me up remind them 3 times I still need my order.

I tried the express as I was in a rush. The girl at the cashier was wonderful and welcoming. I ordered the beef kebab pita with extra tzatziki sauce. Sandwich came after ten minutes. This is express? It’s Tuesday at 11:20. The beef in the sandwich was so over cooked that it was inedible. And no tzatziki. I will say though that the salad that came with it was fantastic. The dressing really was that good.

As much of a foodie as I am don’t write many reviews and I, unfortunately, did not snap a picture of my Lamb Chop meal. For the most expensive item on the menu it was pretty unimpressive. I love lamb chops and was celebrating another successful business trip. The rice was horribly bland. In fact, without almonds it would have had no flavor at all. The chops were tender but had no distinct flavor despite being«marinated» in Mezza’s signature mix. My first clue to avoid them should have been when the waitress could not find them on the menu and stated that she hadn’t sold any for awhile. But reassured me that averting got excited when they sold them. Move on, nothing to see here.

I am a frequent flyer at the gate next door, I haven’t had time to try Mezza yet but I did today and am happy I did! I ordered Baklava Pancakes and they were to die for. My server was very attentive for being as busy as she was. Will be back next time!

The food is ok, but the service is lacking. We stopped in here before a flight. Thankfully we had plenty of time. We were sat relatively quickly. It took some time though for someone to come by the table. We ordered right then. It took several minutes to get our drinks, neither of which was a mixed drink so it should have been simple. Our food came out fairly quickly, but then we had to ask for silverware and napkins after another wait. The food was ok. The portions are small, so think of it almost as small plates. I tried the Greek Fries. It was a tiny order sprinkled with some spices. It was ok, but I really would have liked more flavor from the spice. For my meal I ordered the Beef Pita. It was a touch bland. There was some flavor, but it certainly could have used more. I debated giving this place one star. The service was bad, and no one seemed to care that much about it.

Best place to eat at Detroit airport terminal a, now that the Japanese place is closed. Dinner here on Friday 7:30pm. Ordered falafel and lentil soup. Lentil soup was outstanding. Falafel was acceptable. Service was very quick and attentive(refilled water, quick with Bill). Nice décor, healthy choices, but music is tacky at times – like adult contemporary instrumental.

Good ambience. Service is really really slow! I sat down with more than 30 mins to boarding closure & ordered immediately. However, when I got no good after 15 mins, I asked my server to make it to-go. That’s when he started shouting to the cooking staff & assured I will be served in few mins. With clock ticking by, I paid in advance to save time. But I got no food for next 10 mins too(total of 25 mins) & planned to leave without it, the server came with my box. I rushed and caught the flight. In the flight, I opened the box to find no napkins and no forks. Am I supposed to eat the salad by hand? The food itself was ok but not worth the inconvenience of such a long wait. !!!

I absolutely LOVE Mediterranean/Lebanese food but… AVOIDMEZZAATALLCOSTS!!! We had about 30 minutes between flights to burn so we were on the hunt for a yummy quick dinner. Mezza looked absolutely perfect AND they had a take-out side of the restaurant… we figured that would be faster than a sit down. Wrong. The take-out registers were empty(the sit down side was half full at most), we placed our order with a very pleasant woman at the register who guaranteed that it’d be ready in far less than 10 minutes. COOL! Ten minutes goes by. More patrons arrive. DTW workers arrive(who obviously know the cook staff well) placing orders and walking out with their food in far less than 5 minutes. As our connection time is approaching(15 minutes after ordering) we check on our order. More DTW workers order… get their food. 20 minutes after ordering, enough is enough, we demand a refund and rush to our flight empty handed. Fire the cook staff. Please.

Whenever I travel I find it so difficult to eat healthy. Clean, simple Middle Eastern food. The beautiful herb garden by the window caught-our eye, what a perfect advertisement for«eat fresh food here.»
My travel companion is vegetarian and we were both able to get satisfying meals before a long flight. That hardly ever happens when we travel.

Great menu especially for an airport restaurant. Staff was busy but friendly. Food was good. I had hummus, grilled vegetables, and almond rice salad. Prices were reasonable for an airport restaurant as well. I didn’t have a drink, but they had a full bar and I overheard other patrons complimenting their wine.
