First impression — this place advertises as having a patio. This is literally 3 tables on a side of the street, in front of a construction zone. Not impressed, especially since this was the only reason we picked this place over others. We ended up sitting inside after all. All else was ok, the food was nothing to write home about, but the service was nice, and they had a couple of interesting cocktails. However, nothing fabulous. I really don’t see myself going back, unless all the other 4-star restaurants in the area go out of business.

Went here a couple of weeks ago with my boyfriend, his family and a friend that was out of town. We came here pretty late but everyone was so welcoming and nice. It’s a fancy place. Everything looks and feels comfortable when you walk in. The food was amazing. I wish I could posts some pictures up of what we had but I was so hungry I didn’t even think about taking any.

We’ve been here a couple times. We live very close and have always had a good time, though it varies. The food is good, not exceptional but it is tasty. Normal fare, a little pricey. Went last night and ordered the buratta. Now I have ordered it before and it was big and absolutely delicious so I was excited to prefer it again. However, when we received it this time it was 3 Crostinis with a buratta spread for 11 $. Extremely expensive for what we got and I was disappointed. The Mac and cheese was good but the pulled Pork was flavorless and it could’ve used more cheese. Ambience is very nice.

Loved the atmosphere, the appetizers were delicious. The lemon shrimp appetizer was by far the best thing we had there! Streak was also great, although extremely undercooked. Once it came out the second time, it was great. Our waiter, Nick, was probably the best waiter we’ve ever had. anywhere. Thank you, Nick! He was very attentive and was incredibly kind. Will be back, & will definitely ask for Nick!

Came here for dinner with a group. We had a reservation. But they wanted to wait until a certain number of our party had arrived before seating us. We were seated and received our drinks in a timely manner. But took it took almost an hour for our table to get our entrees. I was glad I ordered an appetizer. My order was wrong but I was too hungry to send it back. Then it took forever to get our checks back. The other table that was with our party got their trees as we were leaving. I think our waitress was overwhelmed which is understandable but they way the situation was handled was not ideal. I may come back in the future but not a good first impression.

DAMN!!! That might just be the BEST Reuben I’ve ever had HIGHLY recommend Downtown Louie’s on Clifford, near John Conyers. And our waiter, Jeremiah, ROCKED!!!

Took 1 hour to get our lunch food! Crazy! People are on fixed time at lunch — the orders were messed up and our checks. The waiter was very nice though– it’s not his fault. There was no one in the restaurant so 1 hour for food is ridiculous. I won’t go back — honestly the food wasn’t great.

My wife and I were invited to a b-day dinner here and we were not expecting too much plus we are both pretty picky. How surprised we both were. The place looks great and the food was delicious. I had the chicken under a brick I think it was called and my wife had the chicken chop salad. There were about 10 people in our party and we were all happy with our meals. it was pretty fast service for being a Saturday night and the place was packed. On our list of places to be at whenever we are downtown We will definitely be back. Thanks Adrian

Hubby and I ended up here after a show at the Fillmore. It was Tigers’ opening day night, so the place was packed and a limited opening day menu was on offer. We each still managed to find something delicious to eat. Hubby had the BLT and I had the Reuben. Both were delicious — served on nicely buttered and toasted bread(his white, mine a scrumptious rye) and with rosemary french fries on the side. Service was a little slow, but that can be overlooked, given the day. It so happens that Downtown Louie’s Lounge is within walking distance of my work, so I’ll be eager to give it another try at lunch on a «regular» day.

Great atmosphere and friendly bartenders! The high ceiling and urge wine rack is cool too. Glass of port and a brownie good way to end the night !

Excellent atmosphere, quiet, low noise, great background music. Ok beer selection on tap, good bottle selections. Cocktails are made bt a great experience ed bartender. Sicilian steak was good, the sirloin is crusted and paned fryed, topped with freshly made maranaria sauce. The sauté spinach trimmings was a great touch Cauliflower potatos? Excellent enough for two, unless you have a vegetarian with you, then grab while you can, side salad, fresh, too man cucumbers for me. Blue cheese dressing is very good recipe from scratch. I am not a fan of oreos. But put a sweet batter on them, deep fry them, sprinkle with powder sugar, a great finish to a warm relaxed fine dining dinner. Good for a romantic evening, private booths. Good for smaller corporate dinners. Wine selections that are awesome. American Mule and Real old Fashions some highlights of fine cocktails.

This place was great! Went here with friends before a Wings game. Cool décor and very welcoming. The four of us loved our food, and even a tasty free dessert for checking in. We’ll be back!

The food here is great as is the service. Definitely get something Albanian — the chef clearly loves sending out those dishes. The lemon mousse for dessert was light and fresh and creamy and perfectly portioned. I can’t stop thinking about it. The ambience is my ideal blend of classy and comfy. The only reason is doesn’t get five stars is that I found a small sticker on a tomato in my salad. They offered to send out a new one and comped the dessert, but it was disappointing to see that the produce wasn’t treated with a little more care.

I came across this place on my way to Wright & Co. I only stopped in during my first trip, but stored it in my to-go place list. Last Sunday, I went downtown with plans to hit Wright and Co., but found it close, so i took the chance to try this place, and I was very glad that I did. The joint is a nice mix of a hipster bar and a dive bar. They had a nice assortment of booze and craft beer and the food was solid. I ended up getting the Cuban Sliders, which were great. fresh pork, and a nice bun to meat to pickle to mustard ratio. It is tucked into a side street, so despite the fact that there was a Lions game, I was still able to grab a seat almost immediately. not to say it was empty, but it was not uncomfortable. Moreover, the clientele

We stopped in, after passing by several times. I love the layout of the place, and the bar has a dark, rich look to it. The bartender was friendly and attentive, and the people sitting next to us were nice. We just wanted beers and a snack, so we ordered the steak tips and fries, based on the suggestion of the regular sitting next to us. They were great! Tender and covered in this delicious savory gravy — perfect for dipping fries in. We’ll definitely come back and try more.

Louie’s doesn’t get the same buzz as the other new-ish downtown spots. Maybe it came a bit too early. Maybe it was overlooked as just another pub. Or maybe it’s too hidden, even though it’s right off Woodward. The building really does look out of place… surrounded by high-rises, it sort of reminds me of The Little House book.(It actually has a lot of history if you research its past online.) Take a step inside and you’re greeted by a gorgeous interior of rich woodwork, a totally different world from the grit that surrounds Griswold and Clifford. I’ve always had impeccable service here; great bartenders and servers. And the food has always been delicious. The Burrata, their take on a caprese salad, is perfect. The Balkan(the lamb burger) is also wonderful, as is the Albanian Salad. Everything is super fresh and sourced locally; they get their produce from Eastern Market. I’d love to keep Louie’s to myself, but I want to see them thrive. If you want a fresh, flavorful meal in a cool downtown setting, go here!

Greasy fish and chips Under seasoned calamari and over cooked chicken in the chicken linguini.. . Over cooked salmon on the salad.. . Nothing special. keep going when you get to the front door because the place is pretty but the food is sub par… Too many cool, great, up and coming places in detroit to settle for this one… By the way after we complained the manager never came back and the waitress ignored us.

This is a new favorite for me. I stopped in before I had to attend a networking event and I loved the ambiance. Not at all what I expected when I opened the door. Very classy inside, but not in the means of upscale. The bar rail was full so I grabbed a high top near the bar. I noticed they had craft beers, some craft cocktails and a small martini list, but I stuck with the happy hour specials which runs until 6:30 p.m. I ordered a glass of the house red. For $ 5 your have the option of a cab or merlot. The cab was very smooth and great for being a house. It didn’t have that cheap Sutterhome taste. I decided to order an appetizer, which they feature $ 2 off during happy hour. I ordered the jalapeño popppers which were excellent. Based on that I know I need to come back and have a full meal. My service was on point and the whole vibe was excellent. It seems like a perfect place to have a drink and unwind after work. I’ll be back!
