Detroit Ink Spot

Been meaning to get a tattoo for FOREVA, but as an artist myself, I have an extreme appreciation for real art and an extreme apprehension of trusting someone to permanently execute their skills on me. Despite living in arguably one of the tattoo capitals of the world (Atlanta), Jason at Detroit Inkspot is the ONLY tattoo artist I entrusted to do my ink! I’m familiar with Jason’s work as an accomplished painter, and I presented an idea and a rough sketch of an Adinkra symbol, but wanted him to add his own vision and embellishment. I got a stunning black and grey piece that incorporated my vision but was elevated to art through Jason’s skill.
The establishment itself is in an eclectic building and I got a tour of all of the artists area. I was glad each artist has their own room, as I thought I would be in a big area with a million people and their energy, but it’s just you and Jason and whatever guests wusses like me need to accompany me! My piece was very affordable (maybe compared to high-​priced ATL) and I got great instructions on how to care for and maintain my new body art. To a man, everyone who’s seen my piece asks «Where did you get it done?» Not a day goes by that I don’t look at my piece (which I got to commemorate the loss of a loved one) and don’t still this «this is beautiful.» Once you check out their Instagram and see all of the amazing pieces they do, you WILL be ready for ink. The only question is «what to get next?»

Best tattoo shop in Detroit, hands down! Very professional artists. There are there main artists, Jason Phillips, Tattoo Wayne, and Lady L. They are AMAZING. They specialize in different things, but no matter who you allow to tattoo you, quality work is guaranteed.
Recently known as Body Candy Tattoos, the artists are back in a new, renovated location and bigger and better! The prices are very reasonable. You get quality work and the amount you are paying for it is fair.
I have received two tattoos from Jason, and my mother has received three tattoos from Tattoo Wayne. I guarantee, you will be a very satisfied customer coming here and getting a tattoo. I recommend to all in the metro Detroit area.
