Ok, I’m spoiled, I am used to Jfk, but this overcrowded mess is almost worse than waiting at you bartender service is fine, but they could at least occasionally gather up the cups, glasses and napkins. Front staff is great, but it is too small, poorly laid out and not relaxing at all.

So you’re on travel. You’re a bit tired or you have a bit of a layover. Perhaps your flight is delayed. You have some phone calls to make but the loudspeaker keeps going off and you can’t hear or be heard. There are crying kids that just annoy you. You want a light snack and you don’t want to spend $ 10 for a bag of chips. Maybe you need to freshen up with a shower. Cue the Delta Sky Club. You’re on travel. They have comfortable chairs to relax while on your layover. Wifi is available to make time pass quickly while your flight is delayed. You can talk on the phone with no loudspeaker. I didn’t see any kids nor heard any cry. Snacks were included. I came in around breakfast time and had some hard boiled eggs and when lunch rolled around I had some chicken salad. They serve alcohol. Drink up!!! I took a shower. The bathroom was clean. So well worth it. Delta Sky Miles members get in for $ 29. Not worth it for just a couple of hours unless you drink a lot(way better than restaurants in the airport). It’s definitely more comfortable of a place to be at an airport!

Meh. If you don’t want booze or a shower, the main central location is a crowded box with a small boring selection of food in a badly designed arrangement, and always-too-small bathrooms(!). And the price is now up to $ 59 for a day pass. You get equal comfort –often more space– and better food in the main terminal and don’t have to put up with grabby middle-aged businessmen(guys…it’s just chicken salad! …relax) and glaring 1% ers. After a couple visits I feel like: «what’s the point?». Btw– Delta’s newer JFK lounge is a palace by comparison. Try the smaller DTW south wing club — it can fill up too, but is a bit more chill at times.

The main club at A: Lots of space and pretty well kept. Not as much on the food side, but more drink options here than most clubs — both alcoholic and non. Self-Tapped beer is a cool feature if you’re so inclined as well as a soda machine and tons of canned juice.

When I first became aware of airport clubs I had already been traveling a lot. At first I looked at the membership fee and thought«no way!» But then it began to sink in that you get away from the crowds of travelers(although sometimes there are too many trying to do the same), quiet place to work while waiting for a flight, schedule updates for delays and cancellations, help rebooking your flight, WiFi, and on top of all that, drinks and snacks. I bought the lifetime membership in the Northwest WorldClubs because of the amount of travel we were doing; shortly after I also bought one for my wife(they offered a pretty good discount for spouse of a member as well as discounts based on your tier level). When Delta took over Northwest they changed the names to SkyClub and fortunately for me they honored the lifetime membership from Northwest. Since the time I joined, the clubs have been remodeled and improved and the snacks now include oatmeal in the morning and soup later in the day. The staff at the Detroit clubs have always been helpful and friendly. And membership gives us access to all SkyClubs and affiliated clubs around the world. If you travel a lot, you should seriously consider joining.

Thanks to Husband’s billion frequent flier miles, I was recently treated to a great time at the Delta Sky Club lounge at the McNamara terminal. According to Husband, this is one of the best lounge spaces that he’s been to. I enjoyed the large ample space that had plenty of seating and refreshments scattered in convenient spots. Lovely touch of having showers readily available for travelers with layovers(both short and long). Snacks galore(on the day we went, there was mac and cheese and a yummy tomato basil soup. Combine both of them, and it is very tasty), and plenty of drinks(both non-alcoholic and alcoholic). Magazines and newspapers for your reading pleasure adorn the wall shelves throughout the main foyer, and I especially liked the mint cucumber infused water. So refreshing and if you have an empty bottle, fill it up! We certainly did. Bottom line — I would gladly come back and enjoy, and it’s great for chilling out before you go on your«cramped like sardines» aircraft.

I enjoyed this Delta Sky Club. It’s clean, warm, and very busy. The club offers appetizers that you’ll enjoy during your layover.

Meh not the greatest sky club. No bar you serve yourself. No comfortable seats and very few plugs. Delta at Detroit needs to do better for their sky clubs. Take a look at Boston and jfk– they get it right there.

Just a regular, but large delta club. Decent. I’ve had just a few layovers in Detroit and was truly expecting more. After experiencing the American Express Centurion lounges, the selection of food throughout the day is underwhelming at best and is not even comparable. The showers here are normally with a loooong wait list, and despite its size, it’s been full every time. Not a relaxing experience. That said, I remember this being a fairly new lounge from delta but it already feels somewhat dated when compared to the new SF lounge, which I Love! I wish they would add the restaurant like in SF to improve the selection of food at least!

These are definitely not the ATL Sky Clubs. Be prepared to serve yourself the well booze and have the exact same food, no matter the club or day. I’ll spare you the guessing and tell you now, the bruschetta pasta is AWFUL and the cookies are always stale.

There are 3 Delta sky lounges spread over the airport. I visited the A68 and A38 gate ones. The internal train stops by all the lounges, although I found the walk in between not too bad. All food/drinks seems to be the same between them, although I didn’t check out the non-snack food at A38 so there could be a difference. I originally went to the A68 lounge as it was right by my arrival gate. The layout of this lounge is like a long hallway with various alcoves of chairs/tables and a TV «quiet» room where all the alcoholic drinks are. If you are a small group and the lounge isn’t too busy then the alcoves are great private-ish escape. One thing A68 doesn’t have is showers and that is when I realized there were more Delta lounges! The A38 lounge is the main central lounge with large rooms of chairs/tables. There are 2 showers and can be busy so make sure you put your name down early(there was a 1h 30m wait when I went). The showers were nice and basic although just had a bar of soap and no toilet. Overall it is just another Delta lounge, the food and drinks are standard and nothing stands out, so with that 3 stars. But the convenience of 3 lounges and the super friendly staff(at both lounges) makes it a bump to 4 stars.

I’m mixed on my feelings about this lounge since there are certain aspects I liked and other aspects that left me disappointed. First off this lounge seems small at first, but then I realized it is broken up into smaller rooms. This makes it much quieter than some of the other Sky Club lounges I have been to. Also there are a lot of electrical plugs throughout, making it easy to find a place to charge your phone. One thing I did like is small refrigerators throughout the lounge where you could grab can of pop or juice right by your seat. There were a couple coffee stations as well where you served your self from the fancy coffee machine. The one thing that disappointed me is the difficulty of finding the actual bar. I didn’t realize at first there is no bartender service at this location. I guess I’m probably one of the few to feel this way, but I really don’t prefer a self-service bar. I don’t mind getting my own coffee but drinks is another thing at times. Between long flights I would rather have someone else make me my drink. I prefer having bartender service in the Sky Club. To me this cheapens the Sky Club experience with no bartender. The other aspect I found somewhat frustrating was the snack section. Since I was in the lounge during the middle of the day the lounge was rather busy, which was most likely the problem. The snack area was a feeding frenzy. Never have I experienced a line of people trying to get their«free» food and basically attack the food area. Now I’ve been to other Sky Clubs during the day, but this one was a bit intense with the snack station. Overall I was disappointed in this particular Sky Club and will have to say this ranked towards the bottom of lounges I’ve been to.

Some what dissapointing after seeing the virgin club. This one is in the main terminal. It is moderately large but feels small as ceilings are low and there are lots of small rooms each with stome seats and snacks/beverages. Speaking of which they are basic veggies and hummus, small serve yourself bars with a few beers and drinks. Somewhat crowded. They just switched budweiser to miler lite, that’s annoying. It’s a good place to sit between flights to get away from the crowds and some snacks but that’s about it. To keep comparisons fair. Atlanta main delta lounges are a touch nicer.

First of all, I give the staff an A+ for attentiveness, friendliness and customer service! I visited the bigger club«in the middle» and I found my experience to be exceptional. I was able to find a nice place by the self service bar and food area to sit and charge my phone. The soup is delicious and I had to step away from the cookies because the double fudge ones kept calling me back. They also have a nice selection of wine, beer, and liquor. Since I was there for 5 hours I got to know the club pretty well and I ended up preferring the lounge area by the self serve bar and food for its convenience, outlets, TVs featuring news, and overall the warm ambiance. The AC was a little cool for my taste.

Nice lounge… deserving of 3.5 stars. Simple, basic snacks and drinks at a clean, quiet location at the airport. Located in the center of terminal A, it’s right across from gate A38. This lounge is the main Delta lounge in the airport and is quite spacious. Once you walk in and are checked, you’ll go up the escalator to the lounge. There are several drink stations and a snack station in the back right of the lounge. Crackers, vegetables, hummus, and self serve alcohol. Overall the lounge isn’t bad, it’s ok… but it is a step below what I’m use to at the Centurion Lounges.

Review for Delta Sky Club across A38. There are 3 other clubs that are spread out throughout the airport in locations that are conveniently near most gates. Lots of space and seating in this club. Friendly service, very clean and sleek modern interior, and a sufficiently nice selection of snacks and drinks. Luckily I read reviews beforehand that pointed me in the direction of better goodies and free alcohol, tucked away in some random corner of the lounge. Otherwise, the layout of the place would have misled me(and probably others) into assuming that the only things here were your typical nice coffee machine and snack mixes of most lounges. There were also some dessert plates with delicious brownies and other small baked squares. The alcohol section has a fridge with seltzers, basic ingredients and olive bar, and a sufficient selection of different liquors and juices, including bloody mary ingredients. There was also cheese, crackers, hummus, other small bites I’m probably forgetting, as well as hot soups nearby. I fixed myself a wonderful scotch & soda right before my flight :) Also had complimentary access with my American Express Platinum card!

Great escape for long layovers. Feels like the lobby at an expensive hotel. Lots of seating varieties. Well with the $ 50 day pass.

If you’re a plane watcher like me, skip the Sky Club in the center of Terminal A and head for the north side of the concourse where there’s a Sky Club over gate A68 that’s a new favorite of mine. It’s long and thin and subdivided into small rooms, each holding between 4 and 12 chairs. And all of the rooms are mashed right up against generous windows that sit above the gates. The staff seems to have the furniture arranged to put your back to the windows, but I’m not the least bit shy about turning my seat around to look out. It’s easy to pass hours here, drinking the free alcohol, noshing, and watching the traffic at this busy airport. You’re close enough to the taxiway to read the tail numbers, and you have a perfect view of the west runway. I can’t think of much better than hanging out here and watching the jets take off and land.

Concur A is the largest and it is also the busiest. Pros: 1) Self-serve booze and drinks. There are more booze than snacks, so make yourself a bloody mary or 2. 2) Chocolate espresso. If you dear, pick a hot coco with a cap– relish! Friendly staff and clean 3) Showers 4) Light snacks(not meals): Hummus, soups/salads, veggies, fruit, cracker, olives, prez, etc. Cons: 1) Why is there no bottle H20 to go? I also have to poor it into my glass and I probably drink about a gallon of H20 a day. 2) The booze are in a dark corner in the back 3) No couches or work desks. They only have small working tables. FYI. If you have Amex Platinum Status — admission is free.

A shower and a shave after a five hour red-eye flight from Seattle when I need to be looking presentable? Yes, please. The main SkyClub in the central concourse is the only one with a shower, though there are three other SkyClubs in DTW. Self-service liquor, club agents who can help you with your travel plans, free Internet and free snacks? Yes, please.
