Where should I start… Hmmm let’s start with the waiter. He was so unprofessional and came to our table about 3 times MAX! I had to get the manager so we could even get a refill on our drinks! The food wasn’t even worth the headache of waiting 45 minutes! The manager was understand for the most part but took 20 minutes the SECOND time I had to called for her. Save your money and your time and go somewhere else where you will receive better service.

We almost chose another place based off of these reviews, glad we didnt! The service was amazing, and for the price you can’t bear the quality of the food. We started with calamari, which was good. Then we had lobster bisque with our meals which was also delicious with chunks of lobster. My husband had the ribeye which was cooked perfect and the potatos thay came with were delicious, not an ordinary mashed potato. I opted for the T-bone special which was also cooked perfect and delicious. We tried 3 desserts(they all looked amazing). The first was a chocolate mouse with toasted marshmellows. The marshmellows were slightly burnt but other than that it was to die for. Same with the cheesecake and chocolate cake. All of that and with a 25% tip we were out the door for $ 100. Not sure where else you could eat a meal like that for that inexpensive.

Tried two things — the steak bites and the quesadilla. The quesadilla was fine, and our server was nice enough to bring some guacamole at no charge, which made it much better. The steak bites were awful — way too gamey and chewy, low grade meat. I had one bite and didn’t bother eating any more. The service was impeccable, and that’s the only reason this is a solid 2 stars. Go somewhere else.

I hate to write a less than stellar review for any restaurant, but I also want patrons to understand what they are signing up for when they plan a night out. A group of six of us dined here for New Year’s Eve #IndulgenceDateNight for a 7:30p.m. dinner. Given that most of the restaurants in the casino are upscale, I was expecting a fancy setting especially with the holiday being that evening. They had a pre-fix menu available for $ 30 which included a choice of appetizer(two options), entrée(two options) and a dessert with a champagne toast. This price I found to be reasonable. They also have their regular menu available. When I first arrived, our table wasn’t ready(we were early) so my boyfriend and I sat at the bar waiting for our table. We were told they had happy hour still going on so we put in an appetizer. We were seated at our table and the bartender said that they could have it sent over. I think it arrived about 45 minutes later after we asked several times. Another issue I had is that we were given a square booth which is not made to fit six people and I was seated in a chair set up with the booth. I just don’t find that part of a classy dining experience. The reason I am rating this experience so low is based on the additional following: 1. the menu was casual american fare without many options for allergens 2. our server clearly had no idea how to wait on tables 3. the food came out right after our salads and appetizers and we had no room on the table 4. most of the food was cold or overcooked — my boyfriend’s pasta was ice cold in the middle My personal plate was Chicken Kabobs with rice pilaf. They were fine. But when you’re dining out., you expect them to be good, not just okay. Overall, I would say that Bistro 555 is your typical sports bar type of food. If you are just looking for an appetizer on your way to a game or gamble, go right ahead and sit at the bar for their happy hour discount! I would not recommend this location for a date night or any type of romantic setting.

We made a reservation at Bistro 555 during Detroit Restaurant Week this year. As soon as we arrived for our 7:30 reservation, there was a line at the hostess stand and the hostess was informing guests that they were not taking any other guests unless they had a reservation. We were fine with that, until we had to wait 15 minutes just to get through the short line to tell the hostess that we had a reservation. By this time it was 7:40, but not that big of a deal. Next we were told to take a seat and the wait staff would call us when our table was ready. While we sat and waited for our table, we overhead other guests who were also waiting that they had been waiting for a while and that they had heard that the restaurant was short on staff. We waited about 30 minutes for our table before deciding to leave, during which time no one came to update us on the status of our reservation or let us know that there was a delay. This meant that we waited a total of 45 minutes for a table that we had reserved without the staff even regarding that we were there. I’m not sure if this was an oversight by the restaurant not anticipating the number of guests for Restaurant Week, but regardless, the customer service was awful. I was extremely disappointed with this restaurant and because of this experience, we were unable to experience Restaurant Week. If I had known that we would have had this poor of service, I certainly would have picked a different restaurant. I would definitely not recommend Bistro 555; in fact, I would highly suggest avoiding this restaurant unless you don’t mind horrible customer service and waiting forever to get a table.

This bistro is challenging to find. You have to go through the hotel or the casino to go to it, and if you’re not 21 or older, you cannot go through the casino. The prices are very reasonable for the portions and quality. The Spinach & Artichoke Dip appetizer is to die for, along with the Lemon Chicken & Fettuccini Alfredo entrees. The atmosphere is very nice, along with the service.

I had a reservation and was seated promptly. No need to be seated by the window unless you want to see what the weather is like ;-) The tables were well spaced and the service was great. We had the prime rib dinner and both our meals were well cooked and delicious. Overall a very nice experience.

My friends and I tried this restaurant out for Restaurant Week. I was disappointed to see that the Restaurant Week menu we were given was smaller than the one listed on the Restaurant Week website. The food was okay at best. The salmon was tasty, but had quite a few bones, and I think it might have been a pre-packaged reheat. The mashed potatoes and side of sautéed spinach were boring.(The meal was supposed to come with rice pilaf and a seasonal vegetable) The fried chicken wasn’t great. Our desserts were nothing special(cheesecake for me, brownie sundaes for the rest). The service was okay, but again, nothing special. The floors were dirty, but the tables looked clean. I had to brush food off of our booth seats before sitting down. The women’s bathroom was awful. No toilet paper in the first two stalls, and the third was clearly out of order but no sign was posted. There was a roll of toilet paper on the floor in that stall. I’m NOT going to use toilet paper that’s been rolling around on the dirty floor. The floors looked very dirty and almost sticky. Avoid the bathrooms and go into the casino to use those! Overall, I cannot recommend this restaurant. Maybe if you’ve had a few drinks after losing your money in the casino, but that’s about it.

555 is a nice place for a quick breakfast. Pricing is typical of a hotel buffet. They have a big selection. I wasn’t able to try everything. The sausages were my favorite. Will RTE if I stay at Greektown again.

This is s great little place tucked away on the second floor of the Greektown Casino hotel. If you weren’t in the casino, you wouldn’t know it was even there. The Bistro is elegantly and modernly designed with big cushy chairs and wide tables covered in white linen. Overlooking Monroe Stree, you step in and think you are spending a huge sum of money on your lunch or dinner, Guess again. Bistro has several dishes for under 10 dollars if you can believe that and even feature a lunch prime rib special. The service is very good and the water glasses stay filled. I have been in here with a good friend of mine on many occasions and the food is pretty consistent. Parking in the garage for the casino is free so you don’t have to worry about getting it validated. Best spot downtown for prime rib lunch.

I brought my mother here for her birthday dinner(May, 2014). My Dad also joined us. The décor was pretty(it was open and empty but we did come early). The service was nice. However, the food was rather lackluster. My mom ordered the lobster and enjoyed it(I guess I’d say I give this place 2.5) but my father and I both ordered the prime rib medium/medium well and there wasn’t anything medium about either of our cuts. It was actually the most well-done prime rib I’ve ever had. Sad because it seemed like it had the potential to have been rather flavorful if it hadn’t been left on too long. I expect more when I am paying a pretty penny for dinner. The macaroons for dessert were nice and the drinks were strong. However, everything else was not worth the cost. Great potential but poor execution. The Unilocal review star rating is low for a reason — they need to improve or get something new in this spot — as it is a really beautiful place it’s a shame it’s nothing special worth returning for. On a plus side, the bathrooms were clean though. I’ll only return if I see it improving in reviews sometime but I don’t hold my breath for that.
