Good happy hour for beer on tap. Service is terrible the bar tender was super short and sassy with me. She half ignored me and my friend so she forgot a beer so we had to run the card again. Maybe next time I will get a server who is happy.

Well, I went with my four and the half stars expectation but got totally disappointing. Five stars for the location, another five stars for the staffs working there. But I am giving no credit for the food. The Bao did not taste Asian at all but bbq sauce, you can not disdingrush the beef/pork/chicken, they all taste the same anyway, even the kimchi did not help. The Bao were doughy and a complete failure. I will be back just for the drink and seating in this beautiful mid-fall sunshine. But will not order the food again.

This is a cute little drink shack located inside Campus Martius park. I asked for a well rum and pineapple cocktail($ 5) and my husband ordered a can of Sam Adams($ 5). I watched the bartender grab the well rum and fill my glass ¾ with it, then the rest with pineapple juice. I thought I was in for a treat. I tried my drink and it tasted like pineapple water. I’ve never made this claim before, but I’m almost positive this bar waters down their liquor. I finished the drink and didn’t feel the slightest buzz(which I’d normally feel with just a few sips of such a strong-looking drink). Somehow, for 2 drinks, our total was $ 12.72.($ 5 + $ 5 + tax = $ 12.72?) I’d not visit again. It’s convenient and kinda fun to hang out with a drink in hand, toes in the sand, but I’m convinced they water down their liquor and overcharge their customers.

My co-workers and I went to beach bar for lunch. We got the bao tacos — the bbq chicken, which I ordered sans tomatoes and fritos. And my co worker got the pork with kimchi. The tacos are only $ 3 a piece and come in a steamed bun. They were really good and filling for $ 3. I don’t think you would eat more than a couple of them. The drinks are also cheap. The only downsides are that it can be really busy — but we had no problem finding a table. And if you aren’t in the shade, it can be very hot. I’d way rather go here after work one day and go for drinks. Check it out!

Had a nice time on a Saturday evening with friends. Got the bucket of Corona beers, 5 cans for $ 16. She was out of regular so we got Light, and gave us lemon instead of lime. Pretty chill for a weekend evening, but perfect weather to stick your feet in the sand and enjoy Campus Martius.

Just wrote the same review for Campus Martius but worth noting that I love this spot. Great for meeting people and having a drink; it’s an oasis in the heart of Detroit that I wish never closed. Corona buckets are $ 15 for 5 and they have spirits and cocktails as well as Miller, leneinkugel, bud, etc. usually have a DJ or live music as well which ties the ambiance together. Great after work spot or sunset place to meet and kick your shoes off in the sand.

Such a great spot to enjoy in the heart of downtown Detroit! Grab a bucket of corona(for only $ 15) a sit & relax in a comfy beach chair. Perfect afternoon spot for friends to gather on a beautiful day.

Awesome place in the middle of downtown. Love the fact that there’s sand in the middle of the city. So awesome. Although there’s a sign saying 21 and up there are families here(possibly because of the jazz fest) and I think it’s nice to have a place like this downtown. Had the pork sticky bun which was good with a very strong vinegary slaw. Also had the Korean beef sticky bun which wasn’t my favorite cuz the kimchee had a strong ginger flavor which I’m not a fan of. Really good prices at $ 3 a bun.

Great place right in the middle of Detroit downtown! This area is like the columbus circle of Detroit but much laid back and cooler! The bar is at one corner of the circle in the middle of the fountain and beach area(it’s actually a huge sandbox)! Pretty cool service and the staff was very friendly. They take cash and credit! It’s pretty cheap to buy drinks and some snacks here! Must try! Go Detroit! I wish this place stays here for long! :)

A cute sandbar in the heart of Campus Martius Park in the heart of downtown Detroit?! Wait and it has reasonable price on drinks?!! And munchies that include a vegetarian option?!? Kick off your shoes and dig your toes in the clean sand. Vibrant colors and sunshine and you’ve got yourself a nice place to relax for a few in The D.

You can’t beat the quality for the price. I had the vegetarian sticky bun($ 3) and the pulled pork with southern style slaw sticky bun($ 3), with a cream soda. It was all very good. And the atmosphere? Even better! People sitting around, talking and laughing, the fountain, a band at the bistro on the other side of the sand pit playing relaxing music… yep. My kinda Saturday with the family.

A great example of Detroit making a comeback! Freandly staff, live entertainment, a great mix of people, and terrific food right off the grill outside. The chicken pesto sandwich on ciabatta had me thinking about it for the rest of the day. Happy Hour drafts are 2.50 and 5.00 burgers looked yummy. For those of you that worry about security downtown it looks like there is plenty of it in the park too. I’m impressed!
