We drive from New Orleans(25 minutes) to eat their boiled seafood. This family has been in the Seafood business for years in St. Charles parish. They get the biggest & best crabs in La. Anything with crabmeat is great, their fried seafood is never greasy & perfectly fried. The fried crab claws are worth the drive alone. My husband always gets a half fried Shrimp & Oyster Po-boy. The stuffed artichoke is the best I’ve ever had anywhere. I find the girls who work here to be very good & attentive. The owner(Jan, pretty blonde) is around a lot and always a pleasure to talk to & always makes sure we are satisfied. You have to get there early as the restaurant is small & gets very busy. During lent, you may see lines out the door. About price, you get what you pay for when it comes to seafood. I never felt like we didn’t get our money’s worth.

Stumbled upon this local joint. Had steamed crawfish to our heart’s content. Daiquiris and jalapeño hush puppies were enjoyable too! Service was quick and friendly.

A little off the beaten path but this place to this Californian seems like the real deal. Cute very clean place. The usual fried stuff and then the good stuff. Husband I share a pound of shrimp and a fish Por boy sandwich both were very good but skip the mayo and get the hurricane sauce.

I saw a photo of a lunch special on Facebook last week of fried ravioli with cream sauce, salad and fried chicken strips. So we decided to make the trip and try it out. That was a huge mistake. You have to order from the counter and I stood there waiting for a minute without being greeted. The employee finally turned around and asked what I wanted to order. I ask for the crawfish ravioli she said that she didn’t think they had anymore I had to ask her if she can find out. Low and behold they had two orders left. She asked me if I wanted chicken or catfish, so I ordered one of each. We waited about ten minutes and the employee brought us our order in a to go styrofoam containers. I opened mine and it was a thick cream sauce covering 5 small over fried(frozen style) ravioli, greens w/slice of tomato and fried catfish instead of fried chicken. I decided to keep the catfish because I didn’t want to what anymore than I did. The cream sauce was thick and salty, but the catfish(5 small pieces) was pretty good. I paid $ 30.00 for two orders and two drinks that’s not including the 20%tip that I left. I should have taken it back, but I didn’t want to waste my time. I’ve been a restaurant manager for 15 years and I understand that restaurants have issues, but that day I didn’t want to deal with it. I’m sure that they have good seafood, but I found that they are a little over priced for a counter service style restaurant.

This is the spot for boiled crawfish, boiler shrimp, and sausage in this area. You order at the counter and within a minute you have a huge plate of hot, spicy, delectable crawfish/shrimp. I’ve been here over a dozen times and maybe once or twice I’ve been burned with over cooked shrimp. Their frozen daiquiris to go are no slouch either. They have a drive through to pick up quick to go orders or drinks for those in an extra hurry. Watch out! If you are with a group and some people order off their regular menu(fried platters or po-boys) instead of their already-boiled foods by the pound, your meals may arrive 10 – 20 minutes apart since their kitchen can get slammed. We’ve made this mistake before and a few of us were done our food before other people’s meals even arrived.

I really believe this is one of the best boiled crawfish I’ve ever had. Really well seasoned, big sized crawfish, and great cocktail sauce. I actually recommend the Hurricane Sauce, it’s much better. The staff was helpful and attentive.

I am sorry to say both of my experiences with the Seafood Pot have been poor. :(I was excited to order some of there delicious food that I had heard about from a friend so I called to order for a group of 10 and the phone rang and rang but no one ever answered. I get it they were probably busy so I kept calling but by the 4th time I tried calling(within restaurant hours) they didn’t answer so I gave up. after all I had 10 hungry people. On a separate occasion I ordered 2 sacks of crawfish and when I got home ready to boil 75% of each sack was dead. Brother in law Called to let them know and all they said was«yea that happens»… Hmmm well it’s never happened to me before and definitely not 75% of BOTH sacks… Seems odd.

we’ll give it another try, but yesterday the shrimp was almost impossible to peel(sure sign of overboiling-but we were told it’s not usually like that). they gave us another crab to make up for the shrimp. the seasoning — good, staff-exceptional. saw the fried platters-looked great, $ 12.99 for a platter of food bigger than your caboose is a good deal. maybe 6 daiquiri flavors?

True local Louisiana dining experience! Tie the paper towel around your neck and get up to your armpits in crawfish! Frozen daiquiris, speak for themselves!

Mmmmmm fresh shrimp! We are Northerners so when we have an opportunity to get fresh shrimp at a great price, we jump on it. When we saw all the work trucks in the parking lot, we knew we were in the right place. Then when all the folks from the church conference followed us in(church folks like good food) we really knew this was the right place! We had a pound of shrimp and a crab cake basket. Everything was fantastic! It’s not fancy but is perfect for lunch! We will most definitely return next time we come through Destrehan!

We wanted to meet up with a friend for dinner and needed a halfway point from their house and our house. I looked to Unilocal for help in finding a place around Destrehan. I came upon The Seafood Pot. It sounded good and had nice reviews. Thanks Unilocalers! We were not disappointed. The Seafood Pot is located along River Road in New Sarpy(just past Destrehan). They have a small location with an ample amount of tables inside to eat there or get take out. They also have a drive thru that sells Daiquiris. The parking situation is decent. However, it’s a little tight and hard to get out of with the line of cars lined up on a Saturday evening to buy Daiquiris. Be cautious! We arrived early for dinner(5:00) and snagged a table quick. The place was bustling and quickly got crowded as they do quite a business there. I got the crab cake and friend green tomato basket with sweet potato fries It was different but good. I was expecting the items to be on their own laying in the basket, but they had arranged it differently. They layered the crab cake between two friend green tomatoes and added a slice of cream cheese in the center. I wasn’t expecting the cream cheese, but it was good. My boyfriend got the boiled seafood platter. It had two boiled crabs, boiled shrimp, corn, potatoes and one sausage. He added a pound of boiled crawfish to his order. He enjoyed it. I tried his too and thought it was very good. It had just the right amount of spices. Our friend got the fried catfish basket. He said it was good. It came with plenty of fish and looked to have just the right amount of golden color to it. The staff were pretty friendly and did a good job. The prices are a little bit on the higher side, but the quality and quantity are good. I would definitely go back.

Their catering services are outstanding. We ordered crawfish for a recent party — they were delivered hot and seasoned perfectly. So good we actually had to order more during the party ! Highly recommended

The seafood definitely has a great taste. The prices are pretty high though for the amount of food you get. The building is way too small. For those reasons, i don’t go there much.

A little pricey and sometimes a little spicey but these folks really know how to get their boil on! The sides and specials are generally excellent and I almost always take something from the freezer to heat and eat at home.

Gotta check out The Seafood Pot if you’re in the area. Fair prices and obviously fresh as it gets. The crawfish is legit and the crab cake sandwich is my go-to. Cute waitresses and it never hurts to have several options for some frozen adult beverages too.

Really delicious, really fresh. The seafood basket was perfectly fried, the cinnamon and sugar sweet potato fries were so crazy good. The crab cake was soft and tasty, not greasy or oily. The crab claws were a little tough but still good flavor. Fried shrimp was delicious. Only thing was one of the cooks ran to the toilet with her apron on and then after being in there for a bit, she ran back to the kitchen and kept cooking. By that time we’d already ordered and eaten more than half our food but that definitely grossed me out a bit! So cleanliness of staff not so great, food itself was very tasty.

Everytime I’m at our Norco refinery, I make it to the Seafood Pot. Generous servings of delectable crawfish, shrimp, sides, etc. I personally like the crab and corn soup to go along with my crawfish. The Po Boys are darn good too!!! Everything I have had has been perfectly seasoned. You NEVER leave hungry and for me, that’s a huge plus. Drinks are served, though I’ve never been able to try them as I am always there for lunch… Boo…

In town to recoonect with friends I’ve not seen since I left just before Katrina to move to DC. Ralph & Nadine wanted to take us out to eat some local seafood near their house in St Rose. This place was great for crawfish, shrimp and gumbo. The service and food quality is very good. The gumbo wasn’t all that great. I tend to compare it to Mothers who has the best IMO. Though the locals will tell you the best Gumbo is made in their kitchen.

Finallllllly made it here & might I say it was worth the wait. The seafood was moderately priced and sooooo sooooo tasteful!!!(take it from a connoisseur of all things NOLA seafood). Not too spicy, not to spicy-less, is just right!!! This restaurant also services a variety of adult beers, sodas and of course bottled water. Friendly, patient staff. Don’t forget to check out the daily specials, they seem to give you a variety of samples. Crawfish(at the time of this posting were $ 3.49/lb), crabs, these friend creamy corn bites(scrumptious), corn on the cob, potatoes & sausage(ehhhh could’ve passed on those) all in all everything was Ummmm Ummmm GOOD!!! Only one unisex bathroom, that at the time of my visit was under operation, buuuuuuuutttt i was allowed by the ever so friendly wait staff to utilize the sink right behind the counter to wash the excess crawfish juice. Definitely a re-visit in the near furture…
