There are few things in life that are essential… air, water, and small cakes! The frosting was the best pet but the cake was moist and rich!

Wow!!! Amazing cupcakes!!! So delicious ANDTHEYOFFERGLUTENFREE on Fridays and Saturdays! I had vanilla gluten free cupcakes with strawberry icing. They let me choose the icing. It was light and fluffy, yet moist as well. FANTASTIC! … My family had the«regular» cupcakes. They were wonderful as well. Many varieties. I highly recommend this sweet little cup cakery! Sooooo good!

I’m am always on the lookout for great cupcakes. I read the reviews and decided to give them a chance… actually, I had my husband turn around and go out of his way to get some while on vacation in Destin, Fl. No one in my family was super impressed, kids included. They had the texture of muffins, like the ones you’d buy at Sam’s or Costco. I didn’t care for any of the overly sweet icing either. We tried the Strawberry, Lemon, Peanut Butter/Chocolate, Oreo, and two others I can’t remember. I think these cupcakes would be fine for people who don’t scour the countryside for the best cupcakes and have already found them in Georgetown(Washington, DC), New York, and Oak Island, NC.

On vacation from Texas, We stopped here after dinner because I really wanted a cupcake and this place had the best reviews. We showed up 30 minutes before close and they looked closed; all seats were up on the table, no one was inside. But when we walked in someone immediately came to the counter. We got 2 to go — peanut butter and chocolate cream. Both were delicious — especially loved the chocolate cream as it reminded me of an upscale Hostess cupcake. Would love to go back and try different flavors

Went twice in two days and bought 11 cupcakes between the two trips! The cupcakes were so fresh and unique! The flavor a and texture was perfect! They definitely deserve the a try!!! My personal favorite was birthday cake(it was my birthday trip and I tend to go to vanilla and buttercream always)! My bf ‘s favorite was chocoholic!

So this place was right beside The Chicken Salad Chicks. There was a posting on the window that they had been on The View and Food Network so we decided to check it out. My goodness gracious! These are the best cupcakes I’ve ever tasted! We got Wedding Cake, Strawberry and Birthday Cake. They were so moist and not overly sweet. The cream and cake is a perfect match! I want to vacation again just to get a cupcake! Oh, we took home 6!

Best cupcakes! The only complaint is that I didn’t find it before I had ordered a surprise Father’s Day cake from karaboos bakery. It was awful. Then we found Smallcakes and now we are addicted! Hope they can ship to Louisiana.

I was searching for a place to get something sweet for my husband’s birthday during our vacation and saw that Destin has a Smallcakes so I had to make a visit. Living in Atlanta, unofficial cupcake capital, we are used to a wide variety of cupcake stores including Smallcakes. However, I haven’t had a chance to visit them. My husband got a carrot cake, I got a german chocolate(based off the server’s recommendation) and the boys got a birthday cake. Mine was good, I’ve had better but I’m very critical of german chocolate since I was young. The cake was not as light as I would have liked it but it was not extra dense like some are. Hubby said his was good which was a good sign since it was in the fridge for 2 days(he got sick the day we got them and didn’t feel better until 2 days later). Of course, the boys loved their Daddy’s birthday cake! :) All in all, I will try them again if I’m in the area of one here in Atlanta. However, I would not make any special trips to one.

Gotta love this place! One of our absolute favorite spots around the Emerald Coast! Staff: 5⁄5. Absolutely lovely. One time I called to simply hold a pair of cupcakes of my wife’s favorite flavor they offer(Maple Bacon) and they did not hesitate to say they’d do it for a limited time and we have never met in person. Location: 5⁄5. Right there on 98 in a prime spot. Be careful though — blink and you might miss it. Now inside, it’s clean, simple, and colorful. You walk in and its boom! Cupcakes. Food/drink: 5⁄5. For the most part, everyday is something new yet something awesome. That is until the month ends, and a new batch of flavors drops. Best way to keep track of the flavors is through their Facebook page. Now I say for the most part because for example, they usually keep flavors such as vanilla/chocolate/bacon on one of their business days alongside the other flavors. Especially when the holidays come around, that’s when the creativity really comes out. Now as for the cupcakes themselves(also have other items such as cake pops, brownies, cookies, etc) perfect every time. Soft, serious flavor, icing is always nice, the toppings/decorations add to it. This is handheld greatness. Pricing: 4⁄5. Good on the wallet but it’s better to get more instead of individually. Overall: 5⁄5. If you don’t get a cupcake from here, you’re missing out!

This place doesn’t have a thing on Gigis. The cake was moist enough but the overall cake just didn’t taste good. It’s like the chocolate had almost a fruity taste and the icing just wasn’t good. In fact, we went back the next day to get my friend a cute cupcake t-shirt and when I had the chance to eat another cupcake, I passed on the opportunity, And that is saying a lot because I love cupcakes. When I eat a cupcake I want rich, fattening, Crisco like buttercream. I don’t want a cupcake that’s light. That’s silly. If I want something light, I will eat a salad.

I got the Oreo & Carrot cupcake. Both were great!!! The cake itself was very moist and the icing wasn’t overly sweet… just right.

Great chocolate cupcake! Visiting from Chicago, I have searched far and wide for a cupcake this moist and light. Back home, small ‘cupcake boutiques’ are literally everywhere and although this place has significantly less variety than most… If all of their cakes are as good as the chocolate ‘birthday cupcake’ they’re in great shape. Five stars is strictly for the quality of the cake. The décor, ambiance, and even overall display could use revamping. I’ve been to shops like ‘Molly’s’ in Chicago where all of the treats are mediocre(at best) but there are board games with great décor/lighting so even on a Friday night at 11, it’s jam packed! This place has a lot of potential, but needs a fresh take to a tired concept.

I really enjoyed my trip to smallcakes! I believe this a chain bakery and I was slightly put off by that but nonetheless it was great! The cupcakes were delicious! Very moist and flavorful. The lady working was polite and friendly despite my unruly three year old. I will definitely be returning!

Best. Cupcakes. Ever. The cupcakes looked delicious, and surprisingly, tasted better than they looked. The taste was absolutely magnificent! I tried three different flavors and loved every one. The name, Smallcakes, is very fitting because the cupcakes are definitely bigger than a regular size cupcake! The cakes stayed very good and moist even three days after purchasing. There was no problem with placing an order or wait time. I will definitely be returning! :)

The cake portion was very good, moist. Unfortunately I didn’t care for the icing, seemed to lack deliciousness. I bought a St. Patty’s cupcake day after the holiday and I asked if the cupcakes were leftovers and the staff member said no, the cupcake was baked fresh but not the icing; kind of turned me off that the whole product wasn’t completely fresh. Size of cupcakes are pretty big too. Overall they weren’t bad per say, but in DC Metropolitan area you have tough completion with places like Sprinkles, Georgetown Cupcake and Crumbs. This place didn’t taste nearly as good as some of the others I’m used to.

Okay — who doesn’t love a cupcake? I think that Small Cakes was brilliant, in bringing handheld desserts to Destin. They just opened, when we went in December — I was excited to visit! We got a variety — lemon, hostess cupcake, carrot cake, peanut butter cup, cookies and cream and double chocolate. My favorite was the lemon! Of course, my boys’ favorites were the chocolate ones. :) These little cakes aren’t cheap but… gourmet cupcakes aren’t cheap to make.(and, I don’t have to do it = perfect!) I have a feeling that this will be one hopping place, during it’s first summer season.

Great cupcakes! They have specials every day of the week. I got the s’mores cupcake… the icing was delicious and the cake was moist and great texture. Only thing was the employee working acted like it was a bother that we came in. Oh well at least the cupcakes were yummy!

Down here in the heat of the Emerald Coast, it’s hard to find somewhere to satisfy your sweet tooth without running into frozen yogurt. Smallcakes is a nice change of pace. The food junkie in me LOVES the insane flavors as well as the incredible texture. They have tables so you can sit and eat if you like, but the dynamic of the place is more of a «take it on the run» kind of feel. They have a cooler with drinks and a flat screen television, as well. The staff is attentive, positive and helpful with the flavors. Speaking of, they rotate their specials daily, with tastes like Key Lime, Boston Cream Pie and Maple Bacon. Cupcakes come in three sizes, the in-house being the largest, but if you need to special order for specific events, they come in small and mini sizes, as well. Smallcakes also does… not so small cakes, and brownies as well. In addition, you can buy their cupcakes mixes and have them shipped to you, friends, family, etc. Now you have no excuse not to try them. They even have…*gack*…gluten free.
