Came over to shop at Bass Pro, saw the military discount advertising so we stopped in. Oh my word the most amazing Italian food I’ve had lately. Got the triple seafood appetizer it was huge! I’m not a tilapia but theirs is very much a fav now. Definitely a must try.

Not a good choice. I had the Pasta Il Frutti De Mare and it smelled like a raw fish market. I know what pasta with assorted shell fish smells like and it was not that. It smelled like the tomato sauce was made of uncooked fish paste. My fiancé said his fish and pasta was good(it was the special) but under seasoned. Overall, not a good pick for any meal. I would recommend anything else on the board walk that is not this place.

My wife, son, and I spent the afternoon walking the Harbor Blvd. As we were leaving the smell of the bread grabbed our attention. My wife loves Italian food. Figured hey, we are on vacation, why not. Walked around the bay side to the entrance. Wasn’t immediately greeted and then asked if we needed to seat ourselves. Once seated, we placed our order. We did just get 3 pieces of small bread. My wife ordered the Lasagna, my son ordered the steamed clams and spaghetti, and I the meat ravioli. The lasagna came out ice cold, the clams were not cooked. I took the lasagna upto the counter and once they brought it back, it sure didn’t look like lasagna anymore. The waitress did notice the appearance of the returned item and offered free dessert. We didn’t want to press our luck. They ended up taking it off the bill. Also the bathrooms needed a good cleaning. Needless to say, we won’t make this a place to eat on our future trips to Destin!

Excellent meal at a great price compared to the other restaurants along the Harbor Walk. Only disappointment was we discovered this place on our last night for vacation.

I would not recommend this place; a step above Chef Boy’Arde Was expecting more Italian flavor. I could have went to the grocery store and bought the stouffer’s lasagna and gotten better flavor. And they give you sink water; yuk!

Took my husband for a day trip to Destin for his birthday today, since it is his favorite place in Florida :) walked the Harbor walk and after reading the reviews I was determined to try LaFamilia. I was pleasantly surprised. First off, walked in and this kick ass Calvin Harris song I love was playing… PLUS! Me and my husband had our two boys with us(3&1) chairs were high stools but our boys did well on them! Ordered a large pepperoni pizza and ordered my husband a birthday drink, a strawberry daiquiri, yard dog size(in a cool jester cup). The bartender/server/pizza maker/jack of all trades was very nice! He offered my husband a military discount which was super cool and thoughtful! He even put a tube shot in his daiquiri for his birthday which was also pretty awesome! Overall, I love this place! We are from NYC, so we are big on pizza and this pizza was very well made for the south! We will be coming back every time we visit Destin! Thanks LaFamilia, you guys rock!

No one greeted us when we walked in, we sat ourselves inside. It was freezing and the air vent above our table dropped condensation all over us. The food was delicious and the service was nice, but was overpriced. The music was terrible, some radio station that kept playing annoying advertisements. This place has potential, but it’s just not good.

First, the difficulties. The former /original location of La Famiglia is located up the street about 2 blocks east; they still have the sign out front, but when you approach you can see the ‘for lease’ sign. The new/current location is in the Harborwalk, located below a large hotel at the west end of Destin. The area is a large restaurant /club /shopping district for tourists. The restaurant itself is on the very edge of the complex near the adjacent bridge. There appeared to be a few parking spaces there, but it is not the main entrance to the complex(and their sign is overshadowed by the Mexican restaurant that shares the building). The main parking area is on the far side of the large hotel building, so you have to walk around that to get to the restaurant. All this added at least 15 minutes for just finding the place. Parking at Harborwalk is no prize either. We managed to find a space, but I suspect it was largely by luck. There seemed to be other vehicles cruising around waiting to grab any space that became available. The lot seemed really inadequate for the businesses there, but perhaps they focus on the guests from the hotel and drive-in tourists are just a bonus? Once you make it to the restaurant itself, it is not very obvious where the main entrance is. There are several access points, but none appear to have a host/hostess station. You just sort of wander in through a random dining room and hang around the bar until someone notices you and seats you. At that point, things improved for us. Our table was at the window overlooking the bridge and inlet, and it had a nice breeze. We got to watch boats and jet skis while we dined. Our server was fairly attentive. The food was fine; we had a pizza and a lasagna dish. We finished everything(among 3 people). The food was solidly mid-range in terms of taste. We were here on a Monday evening in early April around 5:30 p.m. and it wasn’t too crowded. Also, they were running a $ 3 /glass wine special, which was quite nice.

Oh my, where to start. I’m writing this as I sit and wait for our bill. The service was EXTREMELYSLOW. It took 1 hour 15 minutes to get our food even though they are not busy at all. Which was average at best. You get a very small portion of bread and have to pay for extra. The portions are small and not worth the long wait at all. The carpeting was black with filth and torn all over. Don’t bother coming here, a huge waste of time and $$!!!

We came to the Harborwalk for some family fun and stumbled upon LaFamiglia for lunch. We sat outside where it was sunny and breezy. The restaurant looks over the water but the highway lies near there which isn’t so pretty. I was a bit turned off by the lint on their napkins but I quickly got over it when the food came out. We were served bread and oil right away which was tasty. We had the calamari as an appetizer and it was perfectly cooked — crispy and fresh. I ordered the eggplant sandwich and fries. Eggplant was cooked well, ciabatta was scrumptious, tomato sauce was good and just enough cheese. I tasted my family’s dishes — the Fettuccine Alfredo was flavorful but the sauce on their spaghetti and lasagna was really salty. The tomato sauce on there was definitely different from my sandwich. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. She made sure our waters were filled and we had everything we needed. I would consider coming back if I’m in the area.

My wife’s favorite restaurant in Destin. She doesn’t like seafood as much as I do. Service and food has always been top notch when we’ve dined here. She orders pizza Bianca for an appetizer and dips it in their amazing oil with roasted garlic. We split the fettuccini bolognese. Food is very good authentic Italian. There are some good seafood dishes too.

This place is expanding but whenever I eat here I’m made to feel special and the food is amazing. Authentic. Seafood stew is to die for, pizza is wonderful as well. This place gets hoppin. The secret is out, it’s really good. Hope they don’t expand so much that they lose focus on their hospitality.

We were recommended to this place by a friendly staff member at Margaritaville. Amazingly good food. I started off with a strawberry and basil martini. Which was very fresh and flavorful! Got the calamari for an appetizer which was cooked to perfection. It was tender and not rubbery. The penne carbonara was perfect! As well as the lobster risotto! Very delicious!!! I wish I had room to try their dessert! Hopefully next time! The staff and service was great. They were very friendly and attentive. :) This place will not disappoint you!

Really good food and view but the service could use a little work. Watch to make sure they don’t add gratuity to your bill automatically without being told.

Pretty small location. Waitress that attended us took a while to take our order when we let her know in advance we where ready to order. Food took a while to come out. When food did come out the portions were very small. Pasta was not well cooked and sauce was water down. Total tab was to high for the quality of the food. 20 percent tip was already included in the tab, the waitress hardly ever came and check on use so I don’t know how thw620 percent was calculated. Not a very good experience after all.

I am giving this place five stars not just for the food(which I would rate pretty good) but for the overall experience. Our server I think was the owner and he was hilarious and very memorable. He made our evening. It will make a great memory for our family.

This place is a hidden gem! They immediately sat a group of 18 on a Friday night AND split our checks. Portions are huge, staff incredibly friendly, and food A+++! So glad we decided to look up while walking down the boardwalk!

I had a calzone here, and it was pretty good. It was huge, and I had to split with my boyfriend. His plate of lasagne, however, was teeny-tiny, and that’s why he was able to help me eat the calzone. The lasagne did not taste good — the sauce tasted like the sauce from a Chef Boyardee can — it was far too sweet. His lasagne was very expensive and, compared to my calzone, he did not get a good deal for his money. Also, the service was mediocre. Our server could not remember our order immediately after placing it, and despite the fact that my boyfriend requested Italian dressing with his salad, the server brought him ranch. He also did not refill our water glasses, but tried to really push the house bread(which was«unlimited, «he said). I don’t think we’ll be going back here. Too expensive and not worth it.

My cousin’s rehearsal dinner was here, and we had pre-selected food. The pizza was delicious! We also got a combo plate of meatballs and spaghetti as well as lasagna. Both were tasty. The warm bread with olive oil was tasty too. The service was nice and the party was on the back deck which had a beautiful view.

If this is the one in Harbourwalk, we had a great experience. Food was yummy and they went out of their way to make birthday girl feel special. Order the gnocchi! Yum.
