Horrible service and slow. The restaurant was not packed when we visited but it took forever and the waitress rarely checked on our table.

They are beyond lazy at this location. We went here on a Monday night around 9 pm and there was only a few people sitting and eating. Maybe 4 – 5 tables. There was no one waiting, and we were told that it would be a 5 min wait. We were confused… All these empty tables with a wait??? After about 10 mins we got up to let the hostess know we were going to sit at the bar. Instead, she said«ya’ll ready?» and proceeded to seat us as if we had asked for the wait!!! So weird. My chicken fajita taco had too much pico on it & made the tortilla soft, causing it to break. Couldn’t even eat it. Black beans were flavorless and the rice was hard and flavorless. The only good thing was my watermelon margarita and their delicious chips and salsa. That’s the only thing keeping them from being one star. Next time we will go to Ojeda’s.

I love On the Border. You can’t go wrong here. There was *one* time that I didn’t have a good experience at this location, but when I wrote headquarters, they fixed everything really fast. So I can’t hold it against them! The salsa is delicious, the food is super yummy… This place is great. :) The only reason it gets 4 instead of 5 stars is because it tends to be really busy. If you go during peak eating hours, expect to wait.

Gonna give them a 5 on the Brisket Quesadillas and the Cactus Margarita. I drank 1⁄3 of the drink and I was tipsy. I had to stop so I can finish eating and be good enough to drive home. The Brisket Quesadillas were so good, I had the lunch special and was so full I couldn’t finish my salad. Next time I might just split with my husband. Service was quick and friendly. Certainly a busy place and the bar area seems to get a lot of regulars. The drink cost more than my entire meal.

Building was cold which made the food cold. There were about 10 people in the restaurant when we got there. Waitress let us know they were short staffed. Waited quite a while after drink order was taken to order food. When food arrived it was cold and not fully cooked especially the rice and veggies for fajita meat. It was almost like eating straight out of the refrigerator. Had coupon for kid meal manager Approved but was not taken off bill. I understand short staffing but there were also two hostesses one of which could have handled chips and drinks. Disappointed especially since we had just talked highly about it to family who were with us.

Horrible service. It doesn’t matter what time of day. Never staffed, for instance on a Sunday afternoon half the restaurant is shut down because there’s not enough staff. If you go here plan to be here a few hours out of your day.

sittin bar area… about the umteenth time i hav been here… keep putting off review in hopes that things get better here… food is consistently good, but i think mgmt tells bar to be slow on purpose… like i said, i. hav been coming here for years… always purposely slow in bar area… in addition, last time ,.had a coupon for a free promo item… maybe it was bowl of queso, and it was on the same date that the receipt had printed on it… i was told by server that mgmt denied my receipt, and gave no reason… WTF is up wit dat?!? anyway, eat here at your own risk, but be forwarned… do not expect the best, BYFAR!!!

On The Border & I broke up years ago because my taste buds and their food grew apart. Now when I go it’s because people want to meet there or have a gathering. I attended a catered event. The food was late and it was just ok. The star of the buffet was the guac. The service was good after the late start and the sopapillas(sp?) were the next highlight. It could be better; I see other mention it is poorly managed and I will have to agree. Now other guests who had alcoholic beverages said they were really good so maybe that’s what keeps people going.

We live near this location and we live on the borders. However this location is so poorly managed!!! I have avoided coming here because of the horrible service. Today I came again and just as always we waited twenty minutes to have chips and water brought to our table, after getting up two times and even talking to the manager. It is not an issue of being short staffed as everyone walks around as if they had nothing to do. We talked to the manager who seemed very defensive saying it is lack of staff, when you clearly see lots of people just wondering when they place is half empty.

Went for lunch with my kids. There weren’t many customers there, so I figured we get to sit down, get lunch, and carry on with the day. Instead we waited at the hostess station(where no one was standing) for over five minutes. Doesn’t seem like long, but still… Two ladies in OTB shirts kept coming up, looked at us and then left us standing there. One was carrying her radio/earpiece in her hand. We finally just looked over at the manager standing off to the side(she didn’t seem too concerned) waved«bye bye», and turned and left the building. My family and friends have been coming here for longer than I can remember. This used to be a good place to eat, but in the past couple years, its really gone downhill. What a shame.

Went at 8pm. Took over 45 min to get food when they weren’t busy. 2 tables next to us that were left dirty for an hour. My food came out with plate so hot I know it was under heat lamp for a long time. My enchilada was hard, also confirming it was under heat lamp waiting to come out. Then waitress gave up the wrong bill, but we took it because it was cheaper and service was so slow we deserved a discount at that point

Just finished lunch. It took 12 minutes for some one to even come to our table and ask if anyone had taken our drink order. Then 10 minutes to get 3 glasses of tea! After 35 minutes our food finally arrived(for a party of 3). It is Labor Day and they were so shorthanded that the hostess ended up being our server! She did a great job considering she did her hostess job, bussed tables and was our waitress for our table and the tables around us. At the end of our meal I was concerned that she would not get a tip if we left on, so we asked her. She said that it would go to our server. Now this is probably policy, but I was astonished that she would not even get anything for all of her hard work and great attitude about the situation. I strongly suggest finding another Mexican food restaurant in the area rather than this location. It is very apparent that management cannot schedule staff according to the needs of the customers.

Yes you go and get a semi long wait and not authentic Mexican food but you cannot beat their happy hour deals. I got 2 dollar queso, 3 flautas and a 3 dollar margarita with a 1 dollar shot of tequila on the side. If you are looking to have some chips and salsa and some good drink specials, this is a winner. Be warned they are a little slow because ALOT of others have the same idea in mind but the slow service didn’t seem quite as bad having a very friendly waitress. Despite the horrible reviews, you know to what expect when you come here. Cheap drinks, I’ll be back!

My husband and I enjoy mexican food and on the border is one of those stops we make when we just want a margarita and an inexpensive enchilada dinner. The food is delicious but the service is hit or miss most times we come.

Horrible service, horrible customer service– sat in the patio area for happy hour and didn’t receive our food until a hour later. This is not a isolated incident this had happen in the past as well. This will be my LAST time frequenting this OTB. Even the manager passed by my table and saw my empty glass. However after speaking with him, he explained there was new management(BS). As I write this review I’m still sitting here dehydrated.

Horrible service… Walked into the bar at 9:00pm, ordered our food at around 9:10pm and we’re still waiting for our food at 9:51pm. Then the table in front of us complained and asked for the manager because they had been sitting there for more than 25 mins without any one asking if they had been helped.

I’m not sure how people had such bad reviews of this location. Most of the other customers that we saw looked perfectly satisfied. The only thing I can fault them for is getting backed up during Friday happy hour. Otherwise the service was putting in a lot of effort and generally very helpful!

It’s 12:15 lunchtime and I just sat at the bar for 10 minutes w NO service. No hostess to seat me so I went to the bar … Nothing. A girl putting away boxes during the lunch hour?!? While 5 or 6 servers were congregated back by the kitchen?!? Perhaps this is why NO one is in your restaurant. Thanks for wasting my time … NEVERSTOPINDESOTO … The service ALWAYS sucks

Everytime I come to this location something bad ends up happening. The service was terrible and the food was cold. The waitress was not great, just okay, and the hostess was pleasant. I would recommend coming to OTB in the early afternoon or when they first open. Overall, my service was terrible. PLEASEDONOTGOTOOTBATNIGHT!

Came here to celebrate my mom’s birthday, and the service is not up to par. The waitress has too many people to deal with, and our food order was mixed up, so half if us was served and the other half had to wait.
