Big ups to Jackie, the masseuse. I had an 1 ½ hour massage with her and her hands We’re truly heavenly! The pools are also really nice here too! The only thing is we did have a big of a flying insect problem in our room the first night, but the staff was very friendly and helpful and promptly transferred us to another room. I would definitely recommend Hotel Soleil to friends and family!

We did not stay at the hotel, we just came here for the spa services. I had heard so many good things about the mineral springs around the Palm Springs area, so after doing a bunch of research, decided to go with this place. There was a day spa usage for $ 25, but since we wanted to try a couples massage, we ended up booking one online for $ 250, and this waived the $ 25 for using the day spa. The experience started off so-so. My first impression was, the place itself was nice, but later I found out that the spa wasn’t the luxurious-type of spa I thought it would be, rather just a few hotel rooms converted into«spa rooms». A person at the front desk gave us a brief tour of the facilities after we informed her it was our first time there, and during the tour she told us that we needed to be at the spa services waiting area about 35 minutes prior to our appointment(it sounded like this was important). So, after using the day spa facilities for a bit(more about that later), we went close by the designated waiting area even slightly earlier than needed and waited(we could only go close by because a group of hotel guests decided to turn the actual waiting area into their own lounging area). After waiting for about 20 or so minutes and not seeing anybody come out to greet us, my girlfriend became anxious(she was worried that we couldn’t be seen since we weren’t at the actual waiting area) and went to find out what was going on. It turned out that the spa services people weren’t ready for us, and stated how our appointment time hadn’t come up yet, even though we explained how the front desk person told us that we needed to be 35 minutes early. We thought this to be extremely odd. Things only seemed to get worse. When the appointment time finally came around, we still didn’t see anybody come greet us. Concerned that we might get penalized for being late(the website stressed that being late was bad), my girlfriend decided to go investigate again. This time, they seemed surprise that we were ready, so asked us to step into the massage room. Since it was a couples massage, we were expecting to see two people, but there was only one masseuse inside the room at the time. They had put two massage tables in the room, but oddly the tables were quite far apart, and almost facing away from each other. This was my first couples massage, but I found this to be extremely odd. There was some pretty nice and soothing new-age-type music playing, and the room itself was clean and decent-looking. The masseuse left the room to let us prepare, and said she would be back in 5 minutes, but it turned into about 10 – 15 minutes. When she returned, she regretted to inform us that it seemed the second masseuse didn’t make it in to work. We asked what happened, but didn’t get an explanation because apparently the masseuse didn’t know. We were then offered either 1 hour massages on each of us one after the other by the same masseuse, or perhaps just half hour on each. Of course this pretty much destroyed the idea of a couples massage, not to mention the wasted time as one person just waits there while the other gets a massage, so naturally the idea of just furiously leaving crossed my mind, but since we were already there I decided to just give it a go and asked for the half hour option. Now we get to where the redemption happens. The massage itself turned out to be really good. Our masseuse(I think it was Luce?) really knew her stuff, and did a great massage, both of us had this same conclusion. Even though the second masseuse not showing up was a really horrible thing, we understood that it wasn’t the fault of our masseuse. When signing the paper authorizing payment for the services, it was explained to us that we would of course only be charged half price, since we only received half of the service. We left at least very satisfied with the massage itself. We then spent a bit more time at the day spa area, and when it was finally time to leave, I spoke to the front desk to make sure everything was in order and I was charged correctly, to my surprise the masseuse ended up charging me even less than what she originally said… our final charge was about ¼ the original price. Though I thought it was weird this wasn’t communicated to us earlier, it was still a very nice gesture on their part. (It seems I’m running out of room, so I’ll need to cut this review short…) So, going back to the day spa. The day spa area itself featured a very nice pool, an indoor jacuzzi, and an outdoor jacuzzi. I was very surprised that the jacuzzi was really nice in that the water made my skin feel tingly, very nice. Another good thing about the pool area is, they had this container where they put fresh towels for the guests to use, and they seemed to do a very good job in keeping the container full. There was also some«changing rooms» for day spa guests to use(equipped with showers and toilets). [Review must stop now…]

I got the express facial and massage. The facial was very nice, Nina took her time and was very gentle. At one point I fell asleep! My skin looked great afterwards too :) Kenny did my massage. He was rough, with quick movements, even his hands were rough; I loved it! Even though it was rough it wasn’t deep, more like surface. But he didn’t miss a spot and he did some stretching and what seemed like chakra healing… Anyway I felt great when it was done, like rubber. The«spa» is actually a few rooms converted into spa rooms. Rooms 117 – 120. So there’s no real spa feel. I got my facial after I’d checked out and laid by the pool all day so it was very nice to be able to take a quick shower in the room before we got started. All in all it was very nice but if it wasn’t for groupon I wouldn’t have taken advantage of the onsite amenity because the prices are outrageous. The express 45min facial and 45 min massage were 80 $ each. And the express is only offered on weekdays otherwise you’d have to pay over $ 120 for one of the treatments. In my opinion it’s not a fair price for what you could get at less than half that price in town.
