When it comes to hair salons I really do think it matters on the stylist. I was a walk-in appointment and happened to completely luck out with Erika. I have now seen her four more times, all color appointments that varied greatly from highlights, to ombré to an all over color. Everything has turned out amazing. I am also probably the most picky client a stylist would ever have as I did hair for 4 years in my early twenties. I would highly recommend her, but make your appointments in advance she fills up fast!

Front desk staff and manager very incompetent. Bathrooms and shampoo bowls are not clean. Senior stylists do a great job otherwise it is like a beauty school. Go elsewhere.

Had a bad experience overall. I’m new to the area. A co worker recommended JCP salon… I came in for color, brow wax and cut. I’d been growing my hair out hoping for a long swing bob. First when I said I wanted highlights she didn’t even ask me how light or what color she just went and mixed up a batch… *first red flag … But I wanted a change and rolled with it… The color took a really long time… But I stayed hopeful… then the horror began… While washing my hair out there seemed to be zero supplies. She had to hunt for conditioner, a towel etc.(later it was tweezers for eyebrow wax, and clippers to clean up my neck) … After the wash she started cutting… Then She just kept chopping… clearly did not know how to do a swing bob… I was starting to freak out as I saw 5 months of growth get clipped away. Then she stabbed herself with the scissors *3rd red flag & warning bells… Doesn’t she handle scissors all day? Finally she got another stylist to help b/c she said she was having difficultly with the angle … And for the next 10 mins I sat there while the other stylist TAUGHT her how do do it… Seriously? Is this a beauty school? Wth? *4th red flag sirens going off* The other stylist gave her a few more tips then left me alone with Edward scissor hands… She snipped a bit more than proceeded to blow fry(yes fry) the same section of hair for 15 mins. I was so mad I started to cry… She said«oh sweetie it’s just a little shorter than u asked for… «Are you kidding me?!? I was furious. I finally spoke up and said i was not happy at all. I have an important gig on Monday and I’m going to look like trash. It’s really bad. After FIVEHOURS at the salon…(Missed dinner) Its basically a bowl cut with a tiny bit of an angle. It’s uneven and too heavy in the back. It’s barely a swing bob. More like a 1920s bob in the front with an 90s spikey layers thing happening In the back. #epicfail. The only reason they get 2 stars is because the manger gave me ½ off because I was so upset and apologized. Now I have to find someone on a Sunday and dish out more money to fix this hack job. Beware please I think she was pretty new. Ask for someone with experience.

Holly S. Did an AMAZING job on my cut and color. I’m very picky when it comes to getting my hair done and I’ll be going back to see her from now on!

This Salon is horrible! Holly would not take the time to listen or understand what I wanted done to my hair. Color is permanent so I wanted to make sure we were on the same page. I eventually left without getting anything done to my hair and she didn’t even care that they had just lost a customer.

I’ve been going to JCP Salon for about a year now. I would never have gone there on my own, but I followed my stylist there. Erica is awesome with color and I always get compliments on the cut. I sit down and let her work her magic! The salon itself is just ok, nothing special. A tad more expensive than the other mall places. The good thing is that I feel young here! Lots of elderly women getting their weekly perm, particularly if you go during the day. Products are more expensive as well but they go on sale fairly often. Tip: sign up for the JCP Rewards program and earn points for spending money by giving them you credit card info. $ 10 back for every $ 200 you spend.

I used to come here for a stylist who did an amazing job but moved out of state, and I never received the same quality cut and color again. Since then, I’ve started going to Michael Isaiah’s in Des Peres, which I love. I think it’s pretty much luck of the draw here, unless you already know someone who’s great that you can request. It’s not like Michael’s, where anyone you get is amazing.
