Takeout is the big thing at this place! They are fast and it’s good food! You get a big amount for one meal and the pricing is decent. Overall I’m happy, but I wish the egg rolls were hot.

I would have to say this place is ok. It is open on all holidays. I asked them once, why are you guys open? Their response, «because everyone else is closed, we are open». Gotta admit this place is a life saver for days you didn’t feel like cooking or when every place is closed.

I thought it may be good. I thought it more than once, which is why I went back even when a little voice inside my head said, «Don’t look back, you can never look back.» Maybe I’ve just been unlucky, what do I know?

As a restaurant overall, I can only give them three stars. If I were reviewing just solely based off of the two dishes I always always get(Mongolian Beef Extra spicy and Shrimp Lo Mein) then it would be 4 stars, but of course, sadly the rest of the food here isn’t that great. These two dishes that I love were carried over from the last owners who perfected it. Thank you for not messing with the recipe. The other dishes that I used to love from here are a far cry from what they used to be. The place is very small and I would suggest you just order take out — every one else is doing it lol parking lot is small. The Food: Mongolian Beef Extra Spicy — 4⁄5 just yummy beef stir-fried with green onions in a sweet sauce and placed on a beef of fried rice sticks. Yummmm! Shrimp Lo Mein — 4⁄5 they sometimes make it a Lil too sweet. Just tell them to make it not as sweet as usual. They will accommodate for that. Both dishes come with fried rice and hot and sour or egg drop soup. And also an egg roll. I’ve been coming here since I was in middle school and the old owners were still here. I’m back here now even though it’s new owners. As long as they don’t mess with my two dishes, I will keep coming back!

Very impressed with our meal tonight! We ordered the almond chicken and sesame chicken! The servings are huge– one order is enough for two people– we will keep that in mind next we order from here. The sesame chicken was great quality meat. The almond chicken had great flavorful and was mixed with vegetables — the chicken was smaller, but still good. The rice it comes with was great! Not just your plain white rice most places give, but there’s has a bit of flavor and fried egg in it. Great! Also, it came with two free sping rolls(not sure if that is a usual thing, but they were yummy).

Picked some food up here per a client’s request. Decided I’d get myself some as well. Fried rice was bland… there might have been a soupçon of soy sauce added to it but there was no flavor otherwise. Ordered for the first time and did not know soup came with the meals. Apparently you’re supposed to know this. Made a second run here for the same client and noticed that the time they quote you is about ½ of what it actually takes. Egg rolls are tiny… I got a tiny cup of sweet and sour sauce for four meals. They do not have any actual hot mustard… just the standard Chinese packets carry out places offer. It is $ 7.50 on average for a dinner but you may want to just eat Panda Express instead.

Everytime I saw this place driving by I thought the restaurant looked small and unappetizing. I was craving egg rolls one day and thought, they must have good egg rolls here. Turns out they serve more than egg rolls(haha). They are a standard Chinese fast food places with food quality that is almost restaurant quality food. It is always the same staff working here and they are very friendly and have the place operated well. They have a great selection of food. I have tried a good amount of their food and enjoy ir, their appetizers are good as well. Their eat-in area is nice, but their bathroom is outside and you need a key. I definitely will continue to eat here until they change what they do.

my boyfriend and i ordered from here this evening. Not only did he say it was for delivery and then hung up on before the address was given, but the soup was an atrocious slop. bland, jelly texture to the soup and my chicken was quite greasy and downright gross. save your money and go to china chef!

This is the best chinese food anywhere in Des Moines. Tsing Tsao is alright, but I go here all the time. Amazing! Mongolian beef… YUM :) Egg rolls… great… Taste like my moms.

I grabbed some lunch here en-route to the DMV in Indianola. This hole in the wall is the best food compared to the average greasy mall food. The spring rolls are the best here as well as the fried chicken done Chinese-style. I just loved the chicken cashew and only $ 9 total and had the fried chicken to go.

I mean this place has been here for as long I can remember. Hey, it might be older than me actually, so that has to tell you something about how people enjoy this place. The food is basic American Chinese food not authentic but when you want to get your fix on your quick Chinese food I suggest going here.
