Lowe’s Home Improvement

I have ordered items for delivery to store and also for store pick up from both this Lowe’s and the Home Depot in Orange. If you can order from Home Depot and you value your time, definitely go with them.
Home Depot Orange experience: call 1 hour in advance, inform customer service that we will be picking up our order, receive confirmation that our order will be ready for us, show up, pick up order that is already waiting at customer service desk.
Lowe’s Derby experience (both times we’ve used this store): call 1 hour in advance, inform customer service that we will be picking up our order, receive assurances that we won’t have to wait very long to pick up the order once we arrive, show up, talk to several different employees in customer service before someone realizes they need to go to the back to get our order, wait ten minutes, talk to another customer service rep, wait ten minutes, talk to the manager (who confirms that he knows we did call in advance, which clearly didn’t make any difference whatsoever), wait ten minutes, finally receive the order.

Great store. I am not a contractor but am handy and generally know my way around hardware stores, For this Lowe’s, items are easily found and staffs were extremely helpful. Much better than the Home Depot nearby. I wonder why people still go to HD.

I like this particular store, as you can actually find help here and it’s never too busy. Had a guy take 5 minutes to describe the various hose nozzles to me, which was above and beyond the help I needed, but I appreciated the effort.
