Went for lunch on Friday about 2pm. Only 4 tables were occupied. Waited over 45 min after ordering 2 burgers, fries, and mac and cheese. Burgers were burnt along with overdone fries. Mac and cheese was delicious. Wait service was good. They did take off 1 burger from bill. Probably won’t visit this location again.

Great little stop in Depew. Try the stuffed pepper Mac n cheese. Burgers are great and the chicken fingers are huge.

Love this place! Really chill vibe that’s a hit with the locals. MASSIVE bowls of mac and cheese that could easily feed an entire family of 4 – 5. Good clean lines for beer and really friendly staff. Ah, the one tip I would give — order the fries(the portions are huge) extra crispy/well-done. Otherwise they come out a bit soggy. They are freshly cut so if you’re a fan of that kind of fry, this is the place for it. The wings are also OK(they are a bit on the small side, and were cooked kind of dry). Big tables, good vibe and really comfy/roomy booths perfect for those cold lazy winter days. Definitely recommend the mac and cheese here. It’s their«thing» and the real reason to visit this joint. Other foods are good too but yeah, it’s all about the cheese, fatty, starchy goodness. Yum!

I can’t imagine why I took only one picture of the food at Mooney’s, because it all looks fantastic and tastes fantastic! Aside from the screaming hot and fully delicious stuffed banana peppers, Mooney’s is famous for their made to order homemade macaroni and cheese in many fantastic variations. As macaroni and cheese goes, I am no fan, as a rule. It is an overdone, over flavored, overly romanticized ‘Merican comfort food, in my opinion. Too many cooking shows and restaurants have added«unique» flavored that typically fall flat. Mooney’s manages to reinvent the Mac and cheese to a degree that doesn’t rest on the flavor of the culinary world’s day or on its ample size. This dish that at Mooney’s simply defines what a great hearty and inventive American Mac and cheese should be. Creamy and hot, flavorful and topped with additional cheese that crisps up before being served, the original and the variations are exceptional. Among our favorites, Buffalo chicken mac and cheese and hot banana pepper mac and cheese. And this is important. Like my normally annoyance with all things macaroni and cheese, I am normally annoyed with all things Buffalo chicken wing flavored. The vast majority of dishes reinventing the traditional Buffalo wing not only fall short are often a mature and unfortunate attempts at creativity. – even in Buffalo, NY. This is NOT the case at Mooney’s. What an outstandingly developed take on the Buffalo chicken wing married with singly one of the best macaroni and cheese dishes on the planet. Worth every bite and worth traveling to Buffalo, NY just to enjoy that. Also very notable and not to be set aside is the lobster mac and cheese and the bacon cheeseburger mac and cheese. And, if you want great, authentic Buffalo chicken wings, skip Anchor Bar. Order them and Mooney’s. Theirs are absolutely perfect wings and what Buffalo is famous for. Mooney’s is a locally born and raised restaurant with several Western New York locations and another opening soon. We, however, are partial to the Depew, NY location on Broadway. The tribute to the Blues Brothers is a wonderful touch. We love you, Mooney’s! Stay solid, genuine, and full of gin-Molly heart. You are a point of culinary pride for Buffalo, NY.

I’ve been here only once. The food was very good, but we found a few different things in it. I’m not sure how clean and sanitary this place is.

The experience at this establishment was horrific. Service was slow and our waitress complained about her having to work a «14 hour» shift. We asked for suggestions and she said, I don’t know — I don’t like eating here. This was confusing to us. We ordered an appetizer — it came out cold. We flagged another waitress down, who was outside the window beside our booth smoking. She(hesitantly) came over and said, «what’s wrong». We explained to her that our appetizer seemed to be cold. She STUCK her fingers down in it and put a piece in her mouth. Licking her fingers, she replied…“sure is, but that’s not my problem”. I asked if she could bring our waitress or a manager over to the table and she said, let me see what I can do. Approximately 14 minutes later, our waitress came over and was advised of the issue. She took the appetizer and indicated she would have it remade. She at that time took our entrée order. As our entrees’ arrived — and we started eating, we noticed mice running behind the back covers of the booth. One of them literally ran across the dinning room.

Everyone had a great time again, this time for my birthday. They were busy but the folks in the kitchen kept everything moving. We all got something different and everyone was happy with what they got. Mac and cheese is the specialty here, but the burgers and sandwiches are fine as well. My son got a toasted roast beef sandwich and soup which he loved and made us think about what we may want to order next time. I ordered wings from the pit, meaning they are grilled on the pit after frying. They make many varieties and they are so good. The extra step and extra dollar is worth it. They are as good as any wings I’ve had anywhere.

Never actually had the pleasure of eating in at this place, always get take out. The outside décor is pretty unique, you will never miss it. It’s in a pretty good location so it’s not too far if we do pick up, however I’ve never asked for delivery. I’ve been a fan of a lot of their food, but our go-to is the lobster mac&cheese. If you are just eating for yourself the«side» of mac&cheese is plenty. They always give giant sized portions. Sometimes I feel like I get more/less at times with take out but still relatively a huge amount. Def recommend that if you take out on a not so regular basis to grab new menus each time you go… They do add and remove food items at times. And different locations for Mooneys carry different items as well. Overall, the staff is always super friendly when placing your order, super helpful when you are picky like I am and ask exactly what is in each menu item(they don’t try rushing you off the phone either), and during the whole pick up process itself they maintain great customer service. Food+portions+customer service = 5⁄5.

The Mac and cheese is a dish to not miss! Sounds funny to rant about, but it is that good. I was asking about it to the waitress and other regulars spoke up… Great place, fun people. Family friendly.

Very good meal at Mooneys today. I brought the boys because they love mac and cheese and grilled cheese(what kids don’t.) They loved their generous kids portions. I got the lobster mac and cheese — the whole portion is huge! It was awesome. We got there at 5 as I did not want a wait with the kids, were seated right away. Service was prompt and great. Overall, we loved it. Definitely will be back to try more dinner items — plus my wife will want to go back after trying the lobster mac and cheese leftovers!

Mac and cheese… I feel like that’s all I have to say! The Mac and cheese is soooo good! Had the lobster mac and cheese and it was amazingly delicious. The portions are huge, we split the small Mac and cheese between two of us and didn’t finish it. Also had the chicken sandwich and it was good. Always worry about dried out chicken but was not disappointed. The bar has a nice clean atmosphere. For a small dive bar it’s a great place for a drink and to eat. Looking forward to trying other Mac and cheese creations(there are a lot on the menu).

This Mooney’s is a much nicer than the one in North Tonawanda. Much less divey. My friend and I decided to give this location a try after a couple of hours at the range. We both started with a couple of draft beers. Unfortunately the draft selection here is very limited. The only choices were Blue, Molson, some domestics along with Southern Tier IPA and Sam Adams. Disappointing. The food itself was very good. I ordered the Steak Grilled Cheese. This was delicious but more of a melt than grilled cheese. The sandwich didn’t ooze with cheese like you would expect from a grilled cheese. Decent portion of steak and bread was grilled nicely. The sandwich came with a generous portion of fries which were crispy and seasoned well. My friend ordered the fried pickles. I’m normally not a huge fan of fried pickles but I really enjoyed stealing a few. As for service, it was a sufficient. Initially it took a while to get a beer but after we were seated at the bar this was no longer a problem. Mooney’s on Broadway is a decent spot to grab simple food and beer. Is it spectacular? Nope, but it provides decent bar food for a reasonable price.

Went for lunch on a Saturday… Our table Had some yummy pizza logs and the bomber steak sandwich and then of course split the lobster mac and cheese(the side size) which was huge– three people eating and we still took home half. Great food with exceptional service from our waitress Chelsea– she was absolutely great!

Holy $@!& !!! Ever wonder what pure, unadulterated decadence tastes like? Try their Lobster Mac & Cheese. O-M-G! Made fresh to order with tender chunks of perfectly cooked lobster, it is a Flavor Explosion in your mouth. Whatever they are doing with that macaroni, the cheese, cream, toppings and whatever secrets they have up their sleeve, people are starting to take note. And although it’s probably hell on your arteries… it’s heaven on your plate. I will certainly go back to try their«Beef on Weck Mac», «Buffalo Chicken Mac,» «Mac & Cheese Bomb» and more. The side order of this stuff for $ 7 can feed 2+ people. Try it in or to go… it won’t disappoint.

We went back for a night out after all of the horrifying snow in Lancaster. The service was very good. My wife had the lobster macaroni and cheese, which was very good. I went for a burger. The flavor was OK, but this was no half pound burger as described on the menu. I asked to have lettuce added to my burger, which I expected not to be there and lo and behold it was not there. So I had to ask for some extra lettuce. No big deal, but just an annoyance. This was no Grover’s burger. This was no Ruzzine’s burger either, which also ranks among the best in Buffalo. I’m sorry, but it was simply puny. I felt ripped off for $ 10.99. I had to reassemble the burger because they tried this trick of stacking each ingredient unevenly and presenting it oblong to make it look bigger. When I take it apart and reassemble it, I note the size of the burger patty takes up roughly 2/3rds of the standard size Costanzo’s bun. I call BS on the ½ pound burger claim on the menu, before or after cooking. I’ve had ½ pound burgers in the past and this is the first one I had that was dwarfed by the bun. I give them 3 stars for the great mac & cheese and our service was very good tonight.

I stopped in to Mooney’s on the recommendation of my dentist. Side note: Why do dentists insist on talking at you while they know darn well you can’t respond as they poke around in your mouth!!! I popped in for a quick drink and some of the famed mac & cheese. I went with the broccoli and cheese, but they offer a number of tasty looking varieties. My dentist swears by the lobster mac & cheese. My wife likes the Philly steak variety. They also do your standard burgers and such. The prices seem high, but the portions seem to justify them. Check it out on game day or for happy hour.

Mooney’s was the first true Pub experience for me. I just turned 21 in July and have been expanding my horizons especially when I’m traveling. With that being said, Mooney’s had a nice feel to it, in the essence that it feels like a place you would go hang out with friends for drinks and fun. I had the Lobster Mac & Cheese and you get an enormous sized dish for only $ 12.95. The plate comes out with baked Mac & Cheese filled to the top with mozzarella, crumbled Ritz on top, and the perfect amount of perfectly cooked lobster intertwined. I have takeouts for the next two nights, and trust me me I can eat a lot. There were $ 2 drafts from four to seven which was excellent. I started off with a Johnnie Walker Black which was absolutely tremendous as always and it really set the pace for the night. Service was semi-desent because places like that usually have waitresses that have the personality of a rock. However, everything came out timely and it was a very enjoyable experience.

This is ABBA’s favourite place to eat when they leave their native Sweden and venture to the much colder climate of Western New York. They even have a song about this place… «Mooneys Mooneys Mooneys». And the Beatles once said they wanted the Mooneys(that’s what they want), that’s what they want(that’s what they want), that’s what they want… you know the rest. What to get: The Bomb sandwich, Pulled Pork Rodeo burger. What else is good: all the Mac-and-cheeses. So there are actually two Mooney’s. The original one is on Military Rd, and is much more of a drinking place even though it has masses of eating space and tables. It’s got a patio and when it’s not warm outside, the inside of the restaurant is freezing cold because the patio is wide open. The Broadway location has less eating tables but is way more cosy and restaurant-y. It also has a(much smaller) bar which is always busy, but it’s just a better place to eat and I even think the food comes out tasting ever so slightly better. But both of them are excellent. The food that they are famous for is their Mac n Cheese. And my word, it is very well made and delicious. It’s nothing like soul food m-n-c, it’s much more pasta-y and Italian-y, and the toppings that you can get on it are both innovative and delicious, especially anything with stuffed peppers in it. Their stuffed peppers are fantastic. You can get them as a separate order too. They’re yummy. My only complaint is that sometimes there is not enough of whatever topping you order for the enormous size of the portion. Their burgers are magnificent. I think they rival Ruzzine’s on Transit and Buffalo Joe’s on Main as the best burger in WNY. I’m all about it. They have some kind of Texas style burger and it’s absolutely delicious. I’m not sure what the name of it is, but next time I get it, I’ll edit this review and let you guys know. OK, I’ve looked it up. It’s called the Pulled Pork Texas Rodeo burger and it’s right, right, right up there as one of the best hamburguesas en El Buffalo. So get right on that and try it. But the star of the show, the piece-de-resistance, the crème-de-la-crème-brulee, is the magnificent sandwich known only as «The Bomb.» I could tell you what’s on the bomb, but then your head would explode(get it), so I can’t. Honestly, it’s a sub sandwich on delicious toasted bread, with chopped steak, stuffed peppers and melted mozzarella and garlic. It’s phenomenal. Having said that, the Pulled Pork Rodeo Burger is nearly as good, so honestly you really have to get both. The one drawback of this place is that customers tend to get so drunk that they do «Mooneys» on their way out of the restrooms and think it’s hilarious. When the girls do it, it looks a lot like this one website that I need to delete from my browsing history, and it doesn’t put me off my dinner at all. But when the guys do it, it’s like, really hairy and unattractive, so just don’t look at the restrooms during your meal. Better yet, eat with your back to them. And once again I recommend the Broadway location over the Military Rd location, because it’s warmer, cosier, better for dining, newer, fancier, and more intimate. And for some reason the food tastes slightly better, I think maybe because it’s not as popular yet and the bar isn’t as huge and well attended, that they pay more attention to the orders and the diners. And don’t listen to Pink Floyd either. They were actually paid by a rival bar when they did that song on the Dark Side Of The Mooneys album: «Mooneys… gives you gas… grab that Bomb with both hands and throw it in the trash…» I’m surprised anyone bought that album when it was so blatantly biased against Mooneys. And don’t get me started on Cat Stevens’(or rather Yusef Buddhism’s) «Mooneyshadow» or Duran Duran’s «New Mooneys On Monday», the latter is actually about how Mooneys wants to take over the late night dining scene nationwide by opening a new location — yes you guessed it — every Monday. Two questions. Are you still reading? If no, you’re one of the lucky ones. If yes. Why?

Went for the mac and cheese but devoured the burger with bbq pork and french fries instead. The burger was perfectly cooked but add the cheese and pork and you have quite the mouthful. Their french fries are fresh cut and cooked perfect with just some salt Not to leave out what they are known for which is the mac and cheese. My friend had the stuffed banana pepper and raved about it. Daughter had the lobster mac which had good flavor. A little more lobster for the price would be my only quirk.
