I love this place! It’s not the most flashy place, but it also doesn’t try to be. What it does try to be is an establishment that hosts one of the finest selections of whiskey in the city. If you’re on the lookout for a good, hard drink in this beer town, head to Tooeys and you wont be disappointed

One of my favorites always, killer selection and Priscilla is an Incredible bartender. The pinball and patio are sprinkles on top of an already awesome place to get drunk.

Afternoon drinks on a gloomy Wednesday afternoon — damn bartender is piping in some classic country. This feels alright.

Good place for a drink or two especially if you are looking for quiet and intimate. Low key, laid back and they offer good mixed drink specials. We were welcomed nicely and will be back. Watch your step in this dark setting.

This is one of my favorite bars in Denver. Granted, the last time that I was here a guy was stabbed by another guy outside of the women’s bathroom but the staff, owners, and purple that aren’t(normally) crazy that come here are fantastic. Drinks are reasonably priced, the music is always superb, plus pool tables– what else do you need? You can be wearing a pink tutu in this place and feel comfortable among black leather jackets and punk attitude because nobody is here to judge, they’re here to drink, make friends, and dance.

based on reviews I read I was expecting a chill neighborhood bar with an eclectic mix of people. Maybe it was the time of day I happened to check it out, but I doubt it. The space is oddly large and feels more like a performance venue with a bar. The pool table was kinda shabby/dirty and strangely low to the ground. The bartender was nice enough and made us a few whiskey sours that we reasonably priced. To me there was nothing particularly welcoming about this place and the bathrooms looked scary. Meh.

By far one of the best whiskey sours I’ve ever had in my long, drinking life. Staff was super friendly and professional, crowd was low key but fun, music was the perfect volume– loud enough to create atmosphere but still allow conversation. Only reason I’m giving 4 instead of 5 is the bathrooms — they are pretty bad

Rude & unattentive staff. Bartender had a really bad attitude and bouncer was way too aggressive toward a lady. It comes off like they think they are badass about being rude but really they are just being assholes and turning away customers. Too bad as the location is good for Ogden shows.

Cool bar and venue. They have a good size outdoor patio too! Went to see a Stooges-esque 70’s band. Good beer selection with some microbrews on draft. The interior is mostly wood. They have a couple arcade games and a foosball table. Sound was adequate. Neat little hole in the wall. It is actually much bigger than it looks from the street. It goes back aways.

I’ve been to a lot of bars and worked in hospitality my whole life … This current team in place are amazing and they care really deeply about doing things right. Customer service pros that are just easy to get along with, happy, and super talented behind the bar. I am amazing behind the bar! I recently hosted a fundraiser-wake and it was everything and more that I could have wanted it to be. Everyone continues to call and message me almost a week later saying how amazing it was. Love that Ryan, Priscilla and Tony!!!

I don’t dislike this place, I don’t have any great love for it either. Not saying there’s anything terrible wrong with the place save for the slightly annoying markup this place shares with 2-up that only serves to make their specials more SPECIAL. I think the thing that throws me is the fact that this place has no real sense of what it’s suppose to be. Meh.

Interesting place for sure. Usually one or two beers on tap. The rest is bottles, cans, or mixed drinks. Draws an interesting crowd. Billiards, football, and pinball.

Fun place with all the key elements of a good bar: Diverse crowd, good drink selection, good music(and DJ), dancing, fooseball, old school Nintendo. Love the eclectic artwork and flyers that poster the walls, love the exposed brick and of course, love the large outdoor patio! Bartender was friendly and quick with drink orders. Great service.

One of my favorite Denver bars. Staff is great as far as I’m concerned. At least as far as regulars go. Good beer, pool, pinball and there’s always some sort of shin dig going on. Got a free tattoo(plus tip of course. Always tip your artist!) thanks to a Sailor Jerry’s Rum promo going on not too long ago. All in all it’s my kind of place, beer filled and right off Colfax.

I like that Tooey’s crowd is eclectic with people of various ages(i.e. we’re not the oldest people in the bar). I have mainly been here earlier in the evening before it gets really crowded and have had attentive service. The best spot is sitting at the bar of course, followed by the decent sized patio. I also love that they display local art on a rotating basis. One of the more recent nights I was there, they were displaying the artwork of Karl Christian Krumpholz. A bar worth checking out.

Some people really need to get their priorities in order. Dude below complained about having a marker check on his hand instead of a stamp? #whitewhine I came across this place because I initially was eyeing the Snug as I recently moved to Denver. I ended up walking by Tooey’s which seemed pretty divey, and then it hit me: There was a sign that said«buy a can of Colt 45 and get free spaghettios». Sold. Can’t get much divier than that. Of course that was from the local vendor peddling his wares in front, but needless to say that was the catalyst for my new favorite haunt in Cap Hill. I was pretty impressed with the $ 2, $ 3, $ 4 drinks, as well as «The Happy Meal» for $ 5 which consists of a shot and a can of beer. Can’t get much classier than that. Started off quiet initially, and picked up a lot of momentum around 11pm. I can see how some people don’t like it there when it’s bustling, but then again, the people who frequent the place aren’t cliquish at all. You could go up to anyone there and they’d greet you with a smile. So unless you’re a social hermit, it shouldn’t be a problem. The barstaff were nice, one lady who was getting off shift was a little abrupt with myself and a couple customers, the whole«Nope, can’t help you I’m getting off shift» which wasn’t very amiable, but she just might have been having an off day which we’re all guilty of. The guy working the bar afterwards was a super nice guy, had a sharp memory for what you’re drinking and provided a very homey feel to the place. I was kinda in shock that my first tab there consisted of $ 7. Haven’t had a tab that low in a long time. tl;dr– Great throughout the week, gets pretty busy on the weekends, and extremely cheap beer/liquor, great locals and a very friendly vibe.

Two fellow Unilocalers treated me to drinks at this spot for my birthday. I like it! We were there early so it was pretty empty throughout the two hours we hung out but the bartender was friendly, the drinks were good, and the music was at a comfortable volume. I will have to go back here later in the evening when there are more patrons and dancing.

This bar is pretty nondescript. There isn’t a large sign identifying it on the outside. The inside is fairly bare bones as far as decoration goes, but that isn’t necessarily bad. They have a big, open space with exposed bricks and minimal seating. They often have live bands or DJs on the weekends and it’s never overly crowded, which is something I enjoy. I’d say that Tooey’s is a really good example of a cool neighborhood bar if you happen to live in that area. It feels like a place you could go where the bartenders would remember you and your favorite drink and it’d be easy to make friends with the other regulars. But, it’s just a bit out of my neighborhood to be that place for me.
