Tommy Bahama

I was completely ignored in there today. There was one other customer and three employees. Instead of greeting me and asking if I needed help they chose to talk about some coach that was just hired for some sports team. I stood by the register for several minutes waiting to pay for my item before asking if I could please pay. No excuse for that.

I’m always happy when I leave here. I’ve purchased numerous items from here including the shoes and shirt for my wedding in Mexico. I was even allowed to buy a short that wasn’t for sale yet since it was for my wedding. They also replaced my watch strap for no cost when I requested it. Love this place!

Headed to beach at the end of the month and frankly my current swimwear/​beach collection is looking a little «young» for a gentleman just past 60. Time to select some more age appropriate beachwear — not ready for Brooks Brothers just yet though and a particular challenge to find much in the off season — enter Tommy Bahama.
This Tommy’s has a great selection year ’round of fun, lighthearted resort wear that looks just dandy on me without looking completely constipated. Lots of bright, tropical patterns and colors perfect for a vacation in warmer climes. Watch the sizing though because I think their philosophy is that bigger and blowzy is better so as to catch the breeze. I normally wear a «medium» which here is way too big for me and their selection is pretty slim in «small» sizes.
Not to be deterred from spending money by something as insignificant as lack of small sizes I asked my very lovely sales associate (#41 851 — they’re not big on introductions) to check in the back and sure enough we managed to put together a number of fun outfits. Nice quality, good service and you guessed it — not cheap. Well, you only go around once (I think). Yo voy a la playa muy pronto!

A bit Cheesy
Unless you’re going on vacation to the tropics, or you’re a detective in a bad 80’s movie I don’t see the need to shop here. Its a lot of sunglasses, shorts, and Hawaiian shirts. That said, I will say that it’s worth dropping in for a bottle of cologne. They have a few nice scents.
