Taqueria El Gallito

The food is great but their business practices are a bit shady. I’ve had some added charges twice on orders I called in. My credit card statements don’t reflect the charges on my receipts. I wish I could post a picture of my receipt and cc statement. Also, their customer service is horrible. There’s only one girl that is nice but the rest act like the customer is an inconvenience and they’re stingy with their salsa, one little container for an order of 6 tacos?

Pros: The tacos are cheap and good, for $ 1 or $ 1.25. These are worth it. Plus they have a salsa bar with a couple of salsas, cucumbers, lemons, etc.
Cons: The shrimp cocktail (coctel) was more ketchup than anything, I’m not used to that, where I come from Coctels have real shrimp/​fish juice and you add ketchup to make it taste better. The al pastor quesadilla while good had pineapple in it, I know pastor gets marinaded but I have never had a quesadilla, burrito, taco with pineapple in it, in fact the tacos did not have pineapple, so it made my quesadilla less appealing.
So I admit, I might have had two things that were a little different from what i’m used to, but I’m sure there are more items on the menu that will be better. The Tacos did not disappoint, next I’ll try the burritos. Can’t wait to update this review.

Wonderful fresh tacos with a delicious salsa bar! Best price in town! The tacos are yummy but small… Order many!

We got the asada tacos for a dollar 25 and it was incredible. It was super fresh and they have a salsa bar that was delicious with fresh lime and everything. We will definitely be back delicioso!

The best $ 1 tacos on Federal! I’ve tried them all and none are close for the value. Be sure to hit up the onion/​pepper bar.

The food is good and cheap but their service is lacking! They are extremely stingy over protective of their salsa! They will only give a small cup of salsa per order of tacos and if you ask for more they give attitude! The tacos are tiny but good! Overall its an ok place to get your taco fix!

Their English may not be the best, but I don’t visit eateries to converse with the staff. The food is delicious. I had the Torta Al Pastor, and enjoyed it to the last bite. If you were wondering, yes, pineapple chunks inside the Al Pastor.
With a place like this, all that matters is the quality of the food, and they’ve got it.

Ordered camarones al mojo de ajo and a shrimp quesadilla. Got green chili and a beef quesadilla. I absolutely despise green chili, but the lady behind the counter insisted that was what mojo de ajo was. I’m pretty sure I know the difference between one of my favorite things (garlic) and one of my most hated (green chili)

A hidden gem for sure! If you are nearby be sure to stop in! Super cheap awesome Mexican food! I love tacos al pastor and this place sells them for 99 cents each! We went and got 8 total as well as a mango agua fresca (highly recommended after very spicy salsas) and a soda for only $ 16! Definitely becoming a regular here.
You can eat very filling portions for a very low price compared to other chain places like Tacos Junior. Love love LOVE this place. The menu is in English too!

This place is awesome! I love, LOVE anything el pastor. I’ve had the el pastor tacos, el pastor burrito and the chicken torta. All were fantastic. They do a great job at this place. Super fast and affordable.

Simple. El Gallito serves very tasty, very inexpensive Mexican food. Tacos 99 cents to a buck and a quarter. Caldo de mar. Burritos and tortas. It’s not fancy. You won’t care. The food rocks.
