I came to Tacos y Salsas based on some recommendations from friends. I love trying authentic food from different cuisines because I’m not that big of a fan for fusion foods. Honestly, this joint is one of the most authentic and best tacos I’ve ever had. If you’re looking for a great taco, you gotta check this place out! I really wanted to try everything on their menu. But, that’s impossible for one sitting. I settled with getting one lengua taco and one asada torta. The lengua taco was jam packed with super tender lengua. Also, the seasoning was on point(so happy that it wasn’t too salty). In the back, they have a salsa and taco topping station. I prefer this because I could top my taco with their assortment of salsas, onions, and cilantro with exactly how I want it. For the price I paid per taco($ 1.85), I was super pleased with my quality and quantity. I also had a humongous asada torta. The bread was nicely toasted. And the amount of filling was super surprising in a good way(also jam packed with meat). Honestly, I could only eat half my sandwich and my taco. I shared the rest with my buddies that tagged along. They all thought it was great as well. One nice thing I enjoyed was the chip and salsa(that you grabbed from the back) appetizer. It kept my group content while we were waiting for our food.

Home made tortillas were good. Beans reminded me of how my Grandma used to make them. Fast service. No flavor on the entrée, however. They relied heavily on spiciness to the point where we couldn’t finish our food, and I’m Mexican and used to spicy! After eating here, though, I had to go to Urgent Care, I got food poisoning.

A solid place for tacos. Been here several times and I’ve loved the food every time. Don’t ask for a ground beef taco here, that’s not authentic Mexican food. Instead, you can try some of my personal favorites: asada or al pastor! They have hand made tortillas and the sauces aren’t watered down like other places. This is an authentic place so don’t expect Taco Bell type food here. The price is great for the amount of food you get and the atmosphere is great too. Tacos are always a good choice, and the gorditas are delicious too. Service can sometimes be slow as they cook the meat as you order, so munch on the chips while you wait and venture to try all the sauces they have!

This was stop 4 on today’s taco tour, and it had my favorite flavors in regard to the carnitas and Al Pastor specifically. The meat was very flavorful and moist, and also had that nice crunch from the sear. The décor was very authentic and colorful, and everything was clean. I also had the house margarita, which was perfect in my opinion, being not too sweet and not too sour, but right in the middle.

The food was awesome!!! They deffinatly have that part down! The smothered burritos were big enough so I wasn’t able to finish them. The mojarras are definatly a bang for your buck! The shrimp coctail was very delicious also! The only thing I can think of is more space especially on weekend nights when everyone is going out. I seen a lot of customers waiting to be seated. Or had to wait for a seat. Customer service was friendly but they take there time greeting u, bringing u a menu taking ur order and bringin your drinks.

This place is a hidden gem. Good inexpensive Mexican food with a salsa bar featuring many different salsas and flavors. I loved all the choices, but prepare for the burn as everyone I tried was pretty hot. The building is past its prime but don’t let that scare you this place is pretty darn good and for 6 or 7 dollars get a meal you probably can’t finish.

Love this place. Don’t know what’s better here. The chicken tacos or the salsa bar! The employees can be less than expected at a restaurant, but that’s alright with me since I can help myself to the salsa bar!

I’ve been putting off this review as each trip to this place offers new delights and letdowns. 1st trip, the server was rude but the al pastor was good. Not Baja Norte good, but just good. al pastor style is the meat fresh cut off the vertical rotisserie and this is cubed and marinated. Still tasty but NOT real al pastor. 2nd trip, server was great. Smothered burrito was ok. kinda small compared to others. Last few trips, servings(quantity) varied from«!!Shiiiit!!, I can’t eat all that!!» To «Wheres the BEEF??? Best bet re tacos? Order one(1) and see what kinda mood the cooker is in and go from there. Overall? Bitch server from 1st visit not there anymore! YEAH! Salsa bar is good(no sneeze guard) and salsa’s are awesome. Good mix between authentic and americanized. But where are the REAL al pastor tacos? Bueller… Bueller… Bueller? Anyone?

Flavor was good but disappointed at how much gristle was in the steak tacos and how mushy the rice was.

Sooo good. We were a little hesitant to stop only because we’ve been burned by Mesican food in Denver in the past. But once we got inside, we knew this place was legit! I ordered the tripitas and chicharron tacos, and hubs had the 3 taco plate(Barbacoa and al pastor). The salsa bar is good, but the limes were a little past their expiration date. The roasted serranos reminded me of home. Any way, the tacos were fantastic! Tortillas are clearly made by hand and oh so good. Definitely stop by if you’re in the area.

Great authentic Mexican food. Not your traditional tex-mex. The food is great and there are lots of options on the menu.

My favorite place to get tacos in the Denver area! You should know: the times currently listed on Unilocal are incorrect. It’s more like: Sun-Thu: 8AM-12AM Fri-Sat: 8AM– 3AM Now back to the food! These tacos are really tasty and they have a salsa bar with lots of different options so you can spice up your food. Friendly service too. It helps when ordering if you speak a bit of Spanish.

Fried Serrano peppers are wonderful! I love all the salsa choices and delicious flavors. The taco assortment we tried was delicious. I thought the adovada was fantastic and the al pastor was pretty yummy but not quite on par with Taco Junior’s al pastor. My biggest complaint was the refried beans. They were a bit dry and uninspired and I just love great refrieds so that cost them one star despite their superior salsa bar. I will definitely be back and if was a fluke the beans were tired I will update. Otherwise, stick to the adovada tacos!

So far this is my favorite Mexican food in my new neighborhood. I have ordered: carne asada tacos, chicken tacos, carnitas burrito and a chicken tostada and they were all pretty good! I like that you can get your own fixing: 6 different types of salsa, cut limes, fresh chopped onions and more at the salsa bar. They make their corn tortillas fresh and I can’t wait to try them after watching a woman pull out the dough and cook them right in front of me. The rice and beans are a-ok. The price is right and the service is friendly!

I’ve ended up here several times, and each time I wonder why I’ve come back. The décor is very colorful and interesting, the music is lively, and there’s a constant flow of people. This place is doing something right to keep people coming back… I just don’t know what that is yet. I’ve tried burritos, tacos, and quesadillas. The chicken and carnitas options are boring and bland, like they were boiled for long periods of time. The amount of meat in each entrée is generous, though. I didn’t realize when I got takeout once that the tacos were just filled with meat. So definitely don’t miss the salsa bar unless you only want your tacos to be just tortillas and meat. The smothered burrito is just ok, and the quesadillas are meh(even though I think I’ve ordered them every time I’ve been here). I think there’s too much butter and very little cheese in the quesadillas, though the guacamole it comes with makes them decent. The salsa bar has a good amount of variety, though the pico de gallo and similar offerings lack a super fresh and vibrant flavor. The speed of service varies depending on how busy they are. The server/cashier is not terribly friendly, but it doesn’t really matter at this sort of self-service establishment. It’s usually not too bad, but at times they could use more staff. Parking is easy in the designated lot or on the side street. This place is overall OK, but there are definitely better places out there.

Sometimes a man just needs a basic hole-in-the-wall burrito fix. This place comes through. They give you a bowl of chips and point you to the salsa bar with almost a dozen different kinds, all are very good. The barbacoa burrito was great. The beef was very tender and the green chili was flavorful and spicy. The menu is in Spanish, the place is decorated like a true Mexican joint, and it’s very spacious. I’m sorry it took me so long to get here.

This place is good, but maybe not great. I have only tried the burritos and tacos on two different visits. I am a huge fan of Al Pastor and I have to say theres falls short. Not shaved off the spit and no pineapple that I could find. But, carne asada and barbacoa were delicious. They do make homemade corn tortillas for the tacos and this is a big +. However, they do NOT make the tortillas for the burritos, just an average out of the package flour tortilla. The salsas are great, although the salsa bar is usually a bit messy. But, probably an impossible task to keep clean with people helping themselves. They do have beer and margs… more ++++ But, on both occasions the woman taking orders seemed less than thrilled to be there. Overall this place is good and we will go back.
