CLOSED as of 3÷1÷16, apparently. Now it will be the new home of Cowbobas, who moved over to this spot very quickly. I only ate here once, and it was pretty good, but with the abundance of Vietnamese places within shouting distance, it seems they didn’t make it. Too bad, because the menu was enormous and I was looking forward to trying more dishes. But I did have a favorite place located just up the street, and I guess I wasn’t alone.

We enjoyed dinning here. Great noodle soup, homemade broth very tasty and fresh, Spring Rolls exceptional along with all other dishes. We highly recommended to any one that wants good Asian Food. Price is very reasonable.

Ordered the spring rolls and they were very generous size portions. I got the clear noodles with seafood soup, that was pretty yummy. I would go back and try their banh xeo.

Finally checked out Da Lat w/a couple of friends — we’d planned to go to Saigon Bowl and hadn’t realized it’s closed on Tuesdays — and all 3 of our meals were delicious. I was really happy to see the extensive list of vegetarian options, & many unique items that I haven’t seen elsewhere in Denver. The lemongrass tofu noodle bowl was delicious. I’ll definitely be going back.

I really like this place, but they have a ton of competition. Lots of Phở places within a stones through. The Grilled Pork spring roll was delicious and the Chicken Phở had plenty of meat, noodles and a very flavorful broth. Worth going for a solid bowl of phở and don’t pass up the spring rolls.

YUMMY!!! I had a Combination Rice Noodle Bowl along with egg rolls on the side and it was so delicious! I went on a Saturday Night, and it was pretty dead… BUT, the food came out easily, it was fresh, hot and just so yummy.

Excellent broth! Didn’t even think about putting hoisin or chili sauce in it. I had the rare steak phở and my brother had combination phở. We both enjoyed it. I definitely recommend it. The service was okay, not spectacular(if you want me to be picky). I’ll be back.

Best Vietnamese in Colorado. Especially if you eat real Vietnamese dishes other then phở.

Really good but the service was abysmal. I’m not sure what was going on by the server we had acted like he had never been inside of a restaurant before. Also, based on the experiences that I’ve had again other Vietnamese restaurants, the serving sizes were a little strange. I ended up getting the sautéed squid which was good, but completely lacking in any sort of vegetables other then I handful of token pieces of onion to go with the poorly butchered squid. In all seriousness, some of the pieces of squid were like 6 inches long and looks like a human centipede version cut out of squid me. I don’t know what the hell was going on in the kitchen. 6 inches is not an appropriate cut if you’re aiming for bite-size pieces. Now, let’s move on to the service portion of our meal experience. The guy that was serving our table didn’t seem to know anything about service or how to put things down on the table without looking confused. Perhaps he was the owner’s cousin and they were desperate for somebody to wait tables that night, but to constantly have issues with getting water, getting our meals all served at the same time, and also not having issues with the stuff on the menu, I don’t know what was going on. Side note: if you look at the menu under seafood hot pots, apparently goat is now an aquatic animal. This was hilarious to us.

I had the combo noodle bowl. He had the steak Phở. I have had better combo bowls. The meat was a little overcooked and dry. The phở was pretty good! Good flavor. No portion size option. The bowl was a decent portion. Not a huge bowl like other places large. Overall two dinners for under $ 20, can’t beat that. We walked in and no one was there. 7:30. Friday night we were a little nervous. The service was nothing spectacular. He put a pitcher of water on our table and sat a couple tables away watching tv. We might return, but with so many options in the area… Chances aren’t great.

After burning out on the circus that is New Saigon, we followed the advice of other Unilocalers and tried Da Lat, last night. We were extremely pleased. The service was my biggest complaint with NS, as I grew tired of being barked at when a table was ready, and I always felt ashamed to ask for a few extra pieces of daikon as the server stomped away with my order. Not a problem at Da Lat. The server was friendly, spoke better-than-expected English, and made recommendations from the menu. We ordered the curry pork(as recommended) and a combination noodle bowl, as well as vietnamese pork egg rolls. Everything was delicious and comparable in quality to the other«better» VN restaurants on Federal. Good service? Check. Good food? Check. Not surrounded by fifteen-top tables, sucking away all of the service? Check. We will be back.

There are tons items on the menu, everything we’ve tried so far has been excellent. The hot pots are probably our favorite so far, we’ve had both goat and vegetarian. Depending on what you order, the price can vary greatly. You can get out satisfied for less than $ 10 per person. If you are looking for something more extravagant, you will find that here too. The restaurant has been quiet each time we’ve dined. The staff is very friendly. We will be back.

Came for phở, found a short phở menu, and an expansive menu of various other Vietnamese favorites. It’s almost overwhelming how much is on the menu, to be honest. The phở wasn’t bad. It wasn’t amazing, though. The broth seemed kind of… well, it reminded me of something out of a can. That’s harsh, I know, but it lacked all of the complexity of the other broths I’ve tried up and down Federal. I also had the pork spring rolls and while the pork in the rolls was actually quite plentiful, the meat was /way/over-seasoned and just filled my mouth with the taste of black pepper. So much black pepper. I might even have given this place two-stars, honestly, but the waiter was genuinely kind and attentive — enough so that I definitely give them three stars, and might even go back to try something else on the menu, sometime.

*based on one visit so far I know this particular restaurant has been in business for years and years. With plentiful Vietnamese restaurants in this area, I figured it had to be pretty good. And I was right. It’s «pretty good» but not as delicious as my usual Vietnamese restaurant at Federal and Alameda. We ordered the same dish(the huge appetizer with grilled chicken, beef, and pork, egg rolls, and shrimp paste — we always substitute soft shell crab for extra grilled meat). The rice paper sheets were a bit bigger than I’m used to, which made them harder to soften. The big bowl of hot water wasn’t big enough or hot enough. The grilled meats and egg rolls were all delicious. But the cucumbers were huge slices, which made them difficult to incorporate into the make your own rolls. Also, there wasn’t enough rice noodle. I guess if I didn’t have the comparison, I would’ve said 4 stars. But Dalat suffers in comparison.

Da Lat is delicious, and they have VN delicacies that are hard to find elsewhere like the Bun Xeo(VN tacos). Their phở is second to none, and they remembered us even though we hadn’t been there in months. The only thing I didn’t like was their curry eel. The sauce was yummy, but the way they sliced the eel, there was little meat on the outside, and just a big bony spine down the middle. I wish they would filet it like Japanese restaurants do when they make unagi sushi. Other than that, their food and service are excellent, with prices that are hard to beat.

Outstanding venue, very friendly owners, and the food is fresh, authentic and delish! It is great to have this gem as an alternative to the over priced and over crowded New Saigon!

The food here is delicious. One of the best Vietnamese restaurants in town. My personal favorite is the Bun Bo Hue. Spicy pork noodle soup. The owner is very personable and will accommodate all your needs. I highly recommend Da Lat!

A friend of mine highly recommended Dalat for their create your own spring rolls. We opted on enjoying a leisurely Sunday lunch here. The place is on Federal so don’t be scared by the appearance or the neighborhood. You know it can be shady but some of the best food lives of Federal and this was no exception. I let him order the lunch since he had an idea of what we were getting. Trusting blind here. So happy I did — he was true with his description. First, a large plate of veggies arrives, cilantro, mint, bean sprouts, lettuce, pickled carrots as well as the dipping sauce with jalapenos imparting the liquid the perfect level of spiciness. Then comes the enchilada(not literally but you know what I mean), the massive platter of meat and fish. This included, pork, chicken, shrimp, fried soft shell crab, and some sort of fried shrimp paste thing that is new to me. Now it’s time to get hands on. Make sure your hands are clean and jump right in. Dip your rice paper roll in the hot water so you can use it to wrap little presents of flavor boasting rolls. I would say the first roll is the worst since you’re trying to figure out how to make it happen. Wrap all or some of the ingredients or make a different roll every time — up to you, you know what you want to ROLL(pun intended). We polished off the meal, wine flowing, conversation enjoyable, and good food in the stomachs. A perfect Sunday lunch with a great friend. One quick mention — the credit card machine was being difficult so we had some trouble paying. Giving the benefit of the doubt on this since the service and food was so impressive.

I ADORE this place. I go @ least 1x a week if I can. I live pretty far, and have no problem making the trek to enjoy some great food. The owner is awesome, and is a delight when walking in the door, he even remembers our orders and drink preferences ;) Its nice to have a small town feel, with little things like that in such a big place. The food is cooked & served promptly, and I don’t feel rushed to leave. or just another customer, they truly appreciate our business.

As I’ve mentioned before, we have been on a big phở kick this winter — well, we go to phở places, but we usually order bun. We tried Dalat for the first time on Friday and can’t believe that there aren’t more reviews. The décor is a bit nicer than the other Federal phở places, and the food is just as good. In fact, my todu & vegetable bun came with three times as much tofu as any of the other places we have tried, and my other half loved that the meat combination bun had the same amount of meat for a dollar+ less than Phở 95, Phở 555, etc. Breaking with our current tradition, we also ordered a set of spring rolls — with shrimp but without pork, since I’m not a meat fan. The rolls were good — how can one mess up shrimp, lettuce, noodles, and basil? — and the peanut dipping sauce was so good that my other half used it, rather than the fish sauce, for his bun.(He tried to hide this from the waiter, in case we looked like total rubes.) Unlike some phở places, this place also has beer and wine. We didn’t have any, but for those who like drinks with dinner, this might be a selling point.(We loved that our waiter brought a pitcher of water for us to keep at our table — we’re big on hydration.)
