This business has closed as of 10−21−14. A friend and I have been meeting for lunch here for about 10 years. So when we ran into each other after a long time, we said lunch? The usual place? Imagine our surprise we convened upon what used to be Susie Han which is now an empty office space with a sign that says Sushi Han has closed. This is sad.

Take all other review as a suggestion… README! As a Minnesota boy, I have had sushi from on the east coast, which was good… I’ve had it on the west coast, which was meh… Let me tell you… for Denver Colorado… they beat both east and west. The volcano roll was really the best I have had in my life… yes I said it… my life. This was my 4th visit here with my friend Rachel, and hands down… you must try this place. It’s off the beaten path of the 16th street mall… but worth the 30 sec walk. We had other rolls and the shumi(dumplings) also great. Our server, was friendly and informative. Great job Sushi Han! Keep it up!

The food is great. Service can be touch-and-go… be a proactive customer and you’ll do just fine.

Quiet restaurant tucked away in a corner of busy downtown. Kind, friendly staff. Good sushi. Very reasonably priced. Try the strawberry shortcake roll. Very unique!

Not my fave in Denver but a good stop-in for lunch if you’re in LoDo. They focus chiefly on rolls(there are some quite inventive ones).

I am rather new to Sushi being that I have only gotten into it about a year ago and gone out to have it like 6 times but I am slowly becoming addicted to it. So I may not be the voice you seek on sushi. Since getting into Sushi I have also learned that sushi eaters can be sushi snobs. But I thought Sushi Han was actually very pleseant for the price. Becasuse I have also learned that sushi and add up. Now being a veggie head I usually only get the avacado rolls. Here they were really good. i would definatly get them again. They have great deals and happy hour like $ 1.50 a piece for some nice quality sushi and I believe 2 for 1 sake. Biggest and best part was the free small dessert that they give you at the end of your meal. We got half an orange sliced beautifully. Very nice end.

Fish is not fresh. Dynamite was bad. They did have some appetizer that resembled jalapeño poppers that were good.

One word. Terrible. This is hands down the worst sushi in all of Denver. The owner is awesome and a real nice guy but sorry, your sushi is waaaay below par. If you like fishy, blan tasting sushi, sushi han is definitely your place to be. And seriously, lettuce in your rolls? Killin me here

Good service, but unremarkable sushi. No flavor or consistency that should be found in sushi, and I found that rice dominated the majority of each roll/nigiri piece. The only notable piece of sushi in my order was a salmon sashimi sliver — not much there but still tasty. Service however, was attentive and very friendly, although it did not distract me from the poor sushi. Considering the pricey location I was hoping for much more. Will not be back.

Damn good sushi. Inexpensive as well. The Eel Avocado Roll was the best I have ever had. The crab in the California Roll was sweet and just melted in my mouth. Finally, the one unique roll I saw on the menu was the Strawberry Shortcake Roll(smoked salmon, cream cheese, topped with sliced strawberries). Sweet and salty and just plain good. Totally worth a try when crawling the bars on 16th street. 3 rolls = $ 20.

Nestled inside Writers Square on Larimer in Downtown. Great sushi find for the Denverites. Sushi is savory, fresh, clean and most of all delicious! Service is slow but food is worth the wait. Workers are very friendly. Sushi can also be custom prepared to your likings, unlike other sushi places.

I found a groupon now for Sushi Han($ 25 for $ 40 of food/drinks) so I decided to check it out. We got two beers, a seaweed salad, gyoza, and a couple rolls. Nothing really impressed me except the gyoza– that was certainly tasty. The rolls were pretty average. A few reviews rant and rave about the spider roll, which I thought was good, but a bit overpriced(and nothing to write home about). I didn’t try any nigiri/sashimi, so I can’t comment there. This seems like a pretty no frills sushi spot– none of the rolls or anything else on the menu seemed original or creative in any way. Just the usual standards. Prices were average for downtown sushi. The atmosphere was beautiful but super quiet. When we walked in the restaurant the only two tables in the place turned and stared– that kind of quiet. Our server was fast, friendly and efficient. Unfortunately, nothing was memorable enough to bring me back.

I came last night for happy hour as plan B. The original plan was to stuff ourselves at Crepes N Crepes but they close at 3 on Monday and Tuesday. I was almost in tears! So trying to come up with a quick alternative we decided on Sushi Han around the corner. We perused the happy hour menu before sitting down and I perked up a little at $ 3 house wine and 2 for 1 hot sake. It looked like they had a pretty large selection of HH rolls as well. When we were seated I noticed that we were one of two tables, the other being a family with two toddlers. Uh oh! It turns out that we were louder than the kids, but I always expect the worst with kids outside of Chucky Cheeses. Yes, I have had spaghetti thrown on my head and it is not pleasant. We ordered a couple spicy tuna rolls, unagi, shrimp tempura roll, a few pieces fo nigiri and edamame. The fish was okay, but not memorable. The shrimp tempura only tasted of tempura batter and rice. I didn’t get any shrimp taste in there. The bill came to less than $ 50 for three people with three glasses of wine and I was pretty full when we left, but it was not the kick ass meal I was hoping for.

Great place to get sushi for lunch or dinner in the downtown area. We went for happy hour and enjoyed the sushi, rolls, and sake. We were the only patrons at 5p on a Friday, but there were four other parties by the time we left. While they have the seating capacity for groups, I don’t think they have the chef capacity to handle large groups. The restaurant is clean and comfortable and quiet. The service staff can be attentive and have a conversation with you, if you wish. This is not the trendy place to be seen, a snooty place, or a dive; SushiHan is just a pleasant ambiance to enjoy your meal with a friend or a date. I will pay a few more $$ for that!

My FAVORITE sushi place in Denver to date! A friend and I accidentally stumbled upon it almost a year ago for lunch when we were walking around Writer’s Square trying to find a place to eat(and I’m not kidding when I say stumbled upon… this place is almost totally hidden!) I really liked it then, and I was FINALLY able to go back this past weekend for dinner with my boyfriend and it was better than I remembered! Both my boyfriend and I thought that this was the freshest sushi we’ve ever had. The salmon sashimi was the best we’ve ever had. The rolls were perfect, soft, tasty, fresh, with all the right flavors. I had a spider roll, a roll I either really like or am lukewarm on, and it was amaaaaazing. Seriously, best crab roll I’ve ever had. To top it off, the service was great and the rolls are less expensive than some mediocre places I’ve been to. Bottome line: go here!

WEDNESDAY Jan 20th2010 : Came here for dinner with couple of frens. I was«nearly lost» in order to find this place. But finally managed to find it. Since the signage of the restaurant is NOT visible from the main street. Apart from that, I am not familiar with the neighborhood, and that is DOWNTOWN. I was early as usual when I arrived for the group. They placed us all the way in, near where the booze, sake and the drinks was located. About 10 minutes, after seating down, the waitstaff then ask me what I would like to have for my beverage and I ask for the menu for the whole table. Okies back to the MAIN thing: Since I was the last for the group to order or received my order, one of the sushi dish I want was no longer available meaning they RANOUTOFUNI? At least the waitstaff offer me, what I want since they RANOUTOFUNI, but I told him, its ok. no need to add anything else. For the price they list, the nigiris are pretty tiny, as tiny as my little pink finger mind you, so I am NOTWOW with the sushi at all. These are what I ordered for the evening : * Kani * Unagi * Amaebi * Spicy Scallops * Baked Mussels * Mushrooms stuffed with Snow Crab * Dynamite ~ Scallops, Shrimps and Snow Crab * Itawasa ~ Fish cake served with wasabi The highlight for my order is the Baked Mussels. For the Mushrooms and Dynamite they«spoiled» it by baking the panko crust that makes it taste like«fried coconut flakes». No flavor at all for both dishes. The only good thing, was they are able to accept separate checks for our group. I was surprised when we were there, this restaurant is definitely BUSY on a Wednesday evening. To return to this restaurant, hmm, NOT really!

Lunch time in Denver! My colleagues suggested sushi and I said«hell, yeah.» And thanks to some Unilocal Help we discovered Sushi Han. Seaweed salads for all(yum) and then I ordered a spider roll and salmon skin roll for myself. I was especially excited for the spider roll since it has gotten so many rave reviews on Unilocal and the praise proved to be well deserved. I wasn’t quite feeling the salmon skin roll– kind of icky tasting. One of my dining companions, the lovely Farrah A, ordered tuna sashimi that was way too thick for my liking, but she commented that it was cut just right and fresh tasting. Have I had better sushi in Denver? Yep, Sushi Den, but I wouldn’t be opposed to making my way back to Sushi Han when back in the area.

Not the best, not the worst as far as Colorado sushi goes. Came here for a few friends’ birthdays last weekend-all 18 of us. Thankfully they were able to accomodate us, but I am sure we pissed the entire waitstaff off. Our reso was at 9 pm, and I think they closed at 10, so I’m fairly certain they were upset with us that we left at 11:30. And.waitstaff.if you are reading this. sorry for the beligerence and probably pissing off the other customers last Friday night. But onto the food. It was fairly decent. We ordered a couple of special rolls, dragon and spider rolls, softshell crab, spicy tuna. Everything was pretty tasty but the spicy tuna did taste a little.off. One of my friends got the tempura platter, and that was damn good. But you can never fail with anything deep fried with tempura batter. I rarely ever leave sushi places feeling super ass full where I can’t walk, but I did after I came here. I’ll try to come back again, but not with 18 others in tow. I will say this-it is a nice option to have in Lodo and it is tucked away in a cute part of Larimer Square.

I grew up on an island, but that doesn’t mean I want to eat some wacky ass fish concoctions. I prefer simple sushi and Sushi Han fit my needs. I stuck with my usual fare: shumai shrimp tempura roll philly roll ebi nigiri hamachi nigiri maguro nigiri My sole purpose that evening was to pig out before going to see Gojira at the Marquis Theater. Mission completed. Everything was fresh and the shrimp tempura roll was especially crunchy and delicious. The presentation was nice as well. The waitress was very courteous and kept my soda flowing throughout my meal. I love the ambiance and since it wasn’t very busy, it was soothingly quiet. My only complaint would be the overhead music. When I first got there, traditional Japanese music was playing. After ten minutes, I was tortured with what sounded like Kenny G’s greatest collection of horrid pop songs. Besides that, this place is a keeper!
