I heard this place has the best cheesesteaks, so we came in for lunch. The owner (I assume) was extremely nice and professional, he also was the only one there so he made our sandwiches as well.
I figured it was the owner because when we sat down a punky looking kid came in to tell him he was going to be late to his shift because he had to run to Denver to see his lawyer. He seemed like he was just trying to get out of work, but the owner, even though it was right in front of us, took care of it professionally. You could tell this kid was not telling the truth.
After that, though the sandwiches looked excellent and they tasted even better. The meat was well seasoned and so cheesy. I got mozzarella sticks too, which were super crunchy and tasted great with ranch.
The even had mac and cheese for my picky 3 year old.
You can tell this guy knows his sandwiches and cares how everything is done.
Definitely good food, good price definitely coming back.

Best cheese steak in Colorado. Great service, friendly staff, never had issues like some who has posted such. I always stop here to get my fix… never once disappointed. Great combo deal at $ 10.50.

My boyfriend and I placed a delivery order from here. It took almost an hour to receive the food and most of it was cold. We only live like two minutes away.
My boyfriend ordered the Turkey Philly, which is supposed to include lettuce and tomato but it wasn’t included when we got the order. He also ordered the fries and they were subpar at best, and very bland.
I ordered the grilled cheese sandwich and the cheese had already hardened up. I had to pop it in the microwave. It wasn’t horrible. I also ordered the Works sandwich for lunch the next day. I took a bite out of it and it was kind of bland, but edible. Their jalapeño poppers were the best tasting item of our order.
We almost gave this place two stars, but we had to deduct a star because of how incredibly overpriced everything was. We won’t be ordering from here again, nor would we recommend it.

If I could give negative stars I would. «Hand cut fries», soggy and bland. Cheesesteak meat wasn’t even chopped, just cooked right out of the Sysco package, and bland. Very sad! NEVER GO HERE! Trust me I’m from south jersey and this place is horrible. Just horrible.

I went this establishment for the third time today, reluctantly, because of my desire for a cheesesteak and once again was disappointed. The experience today wasn’t a disappointment like my previous experience of obnoxiously long delivery time, overpriced sub par mediocrity, or general lack of concern for the customer. Today I stepped in for a take out order which took over a half hour to get in my hand and the cheesesteak was cold and the fries were old. I spent $ 12 on what immediately went in the trash and went to the grocery store to prepare my own meal. I know there is a lack of anything edible to get to go in this area of town but this business shouldn’t be supported no matter how desperate you are, they are relying on the lack of competition for decent food to stay in business.

This restaurant has the worst customer service! Over the phone and in the store. I am always always worried that they are going to do something to my food. I ordered from here numerous times hoping the next will be better. never has. I WILL NEVER GIVE THIS PLACE MY MONEY AGAIN! Tip for the restaurant, hire people that actually want to work.

I’ve eaten here a few times and it is a decent place to get a sandwich. The staff is friendly and the menu has a good variety of hot and cold sandwiches. I also am very proud of how they support our military.

The Good: There is is a Jimmy Johns opening closer to me.
The Bad: I had asked for a sandwich on a roll instead of sliced sour dough. I didnt realize that this request would stop all production as no one knew if that was possible. The blank stare from the employee was priceless. Good thing they got it approved through their chain of command. After a long wait I received this sloppy depressed looking version of my sandwich. Luckily I overpaid for this disappointment.
The Ugly: The place was empty, employees sitting around. Still waited 20 minutes for that sloppy sandwich. Avoid this place at all costs. Go to Jimmy Johns, Firehouse Subs, Jersey Mikes instead. Shoot go to Subway or your local grocery store deli or make a PB&J at home before coming here.

I don’t often write negative reviews, but wow. Ordered delivery and the time was reasonable, driver fine. But the food is absolutely horrible. I am embarrassed for the owners because I am sure they could do much better. Sandwiches have not even half the meat other sub shops use; Fries were over done, flavorless and cold; Wings rubbery and seemingly undercooked. I wouldn’t be happy spending $ 15 on this «meal,» so the $ 35 (with delivery tip) is outrageous for this severely lacking quality. We typically give a restaurant at least one more chance after a bad experience, but there is no way South Philly will be tried again here. So disappointed.

This place is a joke. I attempted to order delivery and made an initial call to see when they would close. It was before 9pm and they closed at 9. We called back a few mins later after my group confirmed what they wanted. When we attempted to call back they said they no longer deliver. This was before 9.
Today was our 2nd attempt. We called to reassure when they would stop delivery at 8 pm. They stated they stop delivery at 830 now. Once again we called back a few mins later @ 820 to place our order. When we did they informed us they are close for delivery. Mind you the location closes at 9 and delivery stops @ 830 supposedly. I will never contact this place again. How do you run a business when you say one thing and do another. They are just being lazy and short changing the customers time so they don’t have to deal with it. One star is is being to generous, they don’t deserve any stars.

Absolutely the worst service and food ever! Cheesesteak was cold, had no flavor. The woman sitting on her a$$ behind the counter playing on her computer had the nerve to say to the man who took our order «You’re going to make that, right?» When the guy replied «not yet» likely because he was still taking our order… she goes «SERIOUSLY!» Slammed her down, rolled her eyes and went to back to make our awful food. We are still sitting here, watching her sit on her computer still and get visibly angry when someone walks in. I highly don’t recommend this place… on top of everything… it’s filthy in here!!!

Horrible Service, I was there last night even after all the reports of bad service gave them a try.
I told the manager she was not very courteous and she was rude and mean. I called today to speak to the owner and he right away called me a jerk, when I was trying to help him. He does not care about you as a customer and acts like he is the only place in town to buy a steak sandwich.
Do not go to this place, we are the voice of the public and need to stand united…

Got the daily special which included a 8″ cheesesteak, fries, and a drink. The cheesesteak was huge and delicious, the fries were fresh cut, hot and crisp, and free refills on the drink. Great place to go eat. I’ll come back for sure.

Go back in time to 2008 – 2009. 5 stars. Now it is garbage. There used to be good food here and good ownership and management. Not anymore. Nobody cares. Nobody knows what they are doing. Horrific service. Rude. Shoty products. Low quality ingredients and a staff that doesn’t know how to cook. Cheese Steaks and fries are not rocket science. There is an art to fresh cut fries and they are no artists. Never go here. Go to Jersey Mike’s. Go to Olde Philly Town. Even Taste Of Philly is better. They are the ones South Philly ripped off. They were starting a Taste Of Philly franchise, and they changed the sign at the last minute. Jacked Taste of Philly. At least that’s what I heard.

There is not enough cheese in the Philly cheesesteak sandwiches.
They often get our custom orders wrong.
When getting a togo order, it usually takes longer than they say.
Food is good for Colorado, definitely not Philly!
They offer Tasty Cakes but they are overpriced. Boylans soda (New Jersey) is also overpriced.

South Philly Cheese Steaks is OK, their quality of food is average and their staff is mediocre. They seem to cater to those who don’t care much about the quality of the food they are consuming I mean face it cheese steak sadwiches are not exactly health food but you can at least use quality ingreadiants.
