Really dug this Irish Pub, great vibe and great staff. Wish we had more time while in town to stop in for more than a pint. Must come back!

Sometimes we come across a bar that defines a trip. A place where friends are made and the most poignant memories of a vacation take place. Scruffy is such a place! From the first minute I stepped into this bar I felt at home. I felt like I was a longtime native of Denver and these were my friends. The beer is great, well priced, and the staff is helpful in their recommendations. Plus they have a cool set of liquor infusions that are super tasty. I highly recommend the Patron, Caffe and Latte one. We ended up coming here every night we were in Denver. The bar was never too crowded(in a good way) and the music was great. A nice mix of hip-hop, Irish rock, and American alternative. Also there is a magician who performs tricks and doesn’t ask for money, how cool is that?

I can’t say enough how much I love this bar. The bands they book are always great, the drinks are strong, but most important the staff is amazing!

A one, that’s right we saw a sign for four dollar car bombs we went in and were charged 6 dollars we talked to management about why it was falsely advertised for 4 dollars while management was talking to us one of the employees went over and erased it then management asked where we saw the advertisement and we said we saw your employee erase it and he acted like we were crazy. He was extremely rude. The customer service was awful.

This is a great venue to catch local bands, some of which sync up with the establishment’s Irish theme, and some of which are your standard local rock bands that just serve to reinforce the place’s(appreciated!) local roots. The bartenders and staff are friendly, and the menu is entirely prepared in a surprisingly small kitchen, considering how good everything tastes when it comes out. My favorite is the Shepherd’s Pie, but they have several other thematically-apropos offerings and whenever they’ve had a special event with an appetizer spread, it’s been tasty and varied(within reason for an appetizer spread). The place is, effectively, two connected units in the same building in Five Points; the main door opens into the bar area, which also features a fireplace and some seating, and a second door connects it to a neighboring room of equal size that houses the stage, the bathrooms, and more dining room seating. The stage faces the door so you can easily hear anyone playing in the bar area(for most bands they feature in the place, even when the interior door is closed), and although the layout makes the best use of the space it can, it’s a little awkward due to their attempt to fit the stage into roughly the same area as the bar itself occupies on the long side of the room. The décor feels like an Irish pub transplanted into Denver, complete with dark wood accents, smaller tables, and Irish sports jerseys hanging from the ceiling or draped across the ubiquitous brick walls. Overall, I’ve caught quite a few musical acts here, and the beer selection is both robust and affordable, so there’s always something good to drink while you’re listening. They also host whisky tastings and other events, so there’s likely something to bring most anyone into the place, and they’ll likely find something to bring them back, much like I did.

Love the atmosphere… love the bartenders and staff… and love the patio in the back. The adjacent room sometimes has a band which is a nice touch. I’ve tried several dishes and you can’t go wrong with anything on here menu especially the shepard’s pie.

This is a just fine dive bar. decent taps, and the fish and chips were good enough for $ 10. Bartender was helpful and attentive, even though it was quite crowded. I did note there were many many apothecary jars filled with what was probably infused vodkas. Interesting, but I did not feel like playing…

Cards against humanity played with an emcee. Plenty of beers and whiskeys. Friendly servers and a crowd that enjoys laughing. Food seems pretty good. It’s a short walk from the ball park. A few TV’S and pretty fun for an Irish style dive bar.

We had a lot of fun here on our trip to Denver. We actually stopped in during a long wait for breakfast one morning so it was kind of spur-of-the-moment. I immediately noticed the row of infused vodkas on the bar and was intrigued. It was about 10 a.m., so I stuck with a screwdriver for a morning drink, but we came back later that night and I tried the gummy bear vodka with Sprite and it was great. More than anything, the bartender was super cool and helpful. I think he was also the general manager, but he gave us a lot of great recommendations for bars around town.

Only had time to pop in for a pint, but loved the atmosphere, the beer selection and the vibe. Plus, they had live music on a Saturday afternoon!

We ended up stopping here for quite a while during my birthday excursion, because the drinks were good, the bartenders were hella nice, and we actually got a comfy table. One of the bartenders heard me raving about my love for cinnamon, so he made me some badass shot consisting of apple cinnamon liquor, and then lit it on fire and sprinkled some cinnamon, making a really neat little sparkling fire display. Extra mile, people, extra mile. There was also a little dancing room with a DJ playing some fun tunes, and we had a blast out there. The bathroom was nice for a bar potty. My friend’s IPhone got stolen that night along with 3 others, and they ended up finding it buried in a napkin dispenser. When we went to pick it up, they were all so happy for my friend that they had found it. These people are pretty kickass. Oh, did I mention it’s an Irish pub? Redheads for the win!

This has been my favorite bar since I turned 21. Since then, I’ve seen a lot of changes, but the essence has stayed the same. The staff is incredible. Craig and Steve are awesome and have made the place what it is through thick and thin. The beer selection is delicious, the pours are generous, and the prices are very reasonable. I haven’t had the food in a while, but the sandwiches are delicious, and the shepherd’s pie is amazing. Also, they have a very good Scotch selection. If you like a quiet environment during a weeknight or want to hang out in a high energy environment on the weekend, this place is perfect. The live music is definitely worth checking out, especially if 66 Days or Chris Koltak are playing. I try to introduce all my friends to Scruffy’s, and almost all of them love it. Just be sure to pay the parking meter(or better yet take a cab) because the fine folks at parking enforcement are looking for an excuse to ruin your night with a $ 50 ticket.

My girlfriend left her phone here in a drunken St. Pattys Day rage. The bartenders were nice enough to put it behind the bar and even charge it overnight. This place is awesome, great service, great atmosphere! Cheers!

Been going to Scruffy’s for the past 5 years to take in the great drinks and even greater company! Craig and Steve behind the bar are the best! The drink prices are great and I’ve always loved its Irish-pub feel. I’ve brought both family and friends from near and far into this bar and everyone loves it. So proud to call this one of my regular hangout spots!

Scruffy Murphy’s is one of my go-to bars in Denver. Their stellar whiskey and rotating beer menu are enough to keep me coming back regularly, and the food has always been on point. Top that off with some of the best service you’ll find within steps from the ball field makes this guy all smiles. Can whoever did the interior decoration at Scruffy’s please just break into my home, rip everything off the walls and throw out all the furniture, and replace everything with what you deem suitable? Also, please replace all liquids with the bottles from the bar. Send an invoice to the city of Denver because it will become a historical landmark. Then update the Google Maps listing for my address to SCRUFFYSEAN’S. Please respond.

Regular Irish bar. Lots of candy infused vodkas. Bathroom around corner from the music stage, skip the line.

I was at scruffy Murphy’s during October fest. We had a great table and were having a great time. We saw friends of ours, and they came over to talk to us. One of them placed their beer on our table. A worker came over and rudely told her she couldn’t set her beer in the table. I understand that it’s an outside beverage, and why she couldn’t, but his tone and aggressiveness wasn’t needed. Then my husband was on the other side of the fence, talking to our friends, and asked for a drink of my beverage. The guy freaked out again. He got one of the bouncers to come over and talk to us. We weren’t being rowdy or disrespectful but they made us feel like we were criminals.
