I was searching for a massage on a Saturday afternoon and happened upon Rock Salt. Funnily enough, I used to live directly across the street right before they opened. A little background: I a stage 4 cancer survivor who was nearing the end of treatment and I was looking to treat myself. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted with a warm smile by the owner, Denise. While no one had time for a massage, a reflexology appointment was available. Sure, why not? I cannot remember the woman’s name who did the reflexology(I’ll update once I find out), but the session was unlike anything I’ve had before. Focusing on my feet, I was a little confused and apprehensive… but whoa. By the end of the session, I was incredibly relaxed all over my body. Not to mention my feet felt brand new! As Denise asked questions about me and learned about my battle with cancer, she became increasingly warmer, kinder, and more thoughtful. Considering she was already all three of those things, it’s quite a compliment. After my session, she gifted me a book she thought might help inspire me throughout my journey. I’m wrapping up the book now, and couldn’t be more grateful for her kindness. I scheduled a massage with Stephanie for later on in the month, after my last chemo treatment. Stephanie was just as warm and caring as Denise. While I haven’t met the other ladies who work there, I can only imagine Denise hires only the most caring individuals. I really felt Stephanie listened to my concerns and adapted her massage to my needs. It was a wonderful massage. Seeing as how I have lost so much weight due to treatment, Stephanie was incredibly careful with her pressure, checking in with me throughout our time together. I will most certainly be rescheduling with Stephanie, though I am interested in trying out the other massage therapists as well. The facility itself is warm, inviting, and clean. Remnants of salt speckle the floor, making you wonder just what you might be doing during your session. I haven’t had a salt session yet, but I’ll update once I try it out. I highly recommend Rock Salt(and Stephanie!) to anyone looking for something more personal than massage envy or some other chain. I honestly feel like I could walk in and just say hi to my new friends… in fact… I have! With all the new construction in the Highlands, I predict Rock Salt to become a huge success with limited openings… so schedule now… before it becomes too hard to get in!

I can’t recommend this place enough! Since starting my salt sessions my asthma has become so much more controlled I am astounded! If you have breathing issues, sinus issues, allergies or are just looking for a quiet place to settle your mind and improve your health this is the place to be! Prices are better than affordable and I am a single mom. I love my salt sessions at RockSalt Spa!

Great facility, about the best and most relaxing spot to read I know of. I’ve got issues with my sense of smell due to an accident, and this helps me with it significantly. Beyond that, an hour in the place leaves me feeling clear and breathing better, and my skin seems smoother and less dry, oddly. Denise is a delight and quite knowledgable on the subject of halotherapy.

I found Rock Salt Spa via a Groupon I bought last year. I was curious about the halotherapy as I had never heard of it before. When I walked in to my first appointment, I was very warmly welcomed by Denise, the owner. She set me up in my very own private room and made sure I understood halotherapy and that I was comfortable. She made me feel very welcomed and the therapy itself was beneficial for my breathing. Since the very first time I have gone, I have been back many times and always love the peaceful way this place makes me feel. Worth checking out people!

I have been coming to Rock Salt Spa since the first month they opened – over two years! Salt therapy has greatly improved the quality of my life. For years, I tried every traditional and alternative therapy to relieve my chronic sinus problems; diets, neti pots, energy work, acupunture etc. Nothing worked! After ONE session here I had improvement. I returned for several sessions each week at first, then tapered to once a week. Now I only need to come once or twice a month to maintain my ability to breathe clearly. But i usually come more because it is so wonderfuland beneficial. The owner, Denise, warmly welcomes everyone. She is flexible, patient and kind and encourages you to make yourself at home. During your first visit she will go over what to expect and then set you up in one of two therapy rooms. Dim lights, tranquil music, soft blankets, and comfortable chairs allow you to relax, breathe deeply, and heal. You can even have a massage in a salt room! Halotherapy has been used for years in other cultures. Beyond healing my sinuses, it calms me, reduces inflammation and helps me sleep better. It has reduced and eliminated my colds and viruses, and helped me be healthier overall. Don’t hesitate to try it!

Great place, super clean and very relaxing. I have asthma and have always had chronic sinusitis exacerbated by Colorado’s dry climate. I had tied different remedies to relieve the my tight lungs from asthma and to find some relief from my dry sinuses. I am never afraid to try some other alternative to mainstream medicine, thank goodness I did! Rock Salt Spa gave me the environment I needed like the salt air from the ocean. It moisturized my dry, burning sinuses and cleared my lungs. I can breath easier and have not needed to use my daily inhaler in a longtime. Thank you for the experience, Your business was a breath of fresh air… pun intended. I’ll be back soon with my friend who is a yoga instructor. Thanks again, CH P. S. Can we bring wine in a plastic cup in there? YES.

Had several sessions, saw no improvement. Denise the owner seems very flakey and just filling you with the bullish*t she thinks you want to hear. Don’t waste your time on this place.

This review is based solely on Rock Salt having the kind of owner that makes Sunnyside neighborhood businesses awesome. Denise spotted my tired 11 week old puppy on the«longest»(aka, really not that far) walk of his life, and brought him out a water bowl, a treat, a big smile, and a scratch behind the ear. Aaaaad, of course, after this nice gesture, he took one of those classic puppy greasers in front of her store. Fantastic. In my apologetic feces-picking-up embarrassment, she, thankfully, did not bat an eye. Gus recommends that all tired dogs find their way to this spot. :-) I’d never thought about trying out salt therapy, but want to see more people/unique businesses like this make it in Sunnyside. I’ll update this review after actually trying out their services…

I wanted to write a review for the RockSalt Spa because it was quite an amazing find for me. When my husband and I first heard of this idea we scoffed at it and thought it was just another alternative therapy fad. What changed our minds was after being sick for the past two months with some sort of cold virus/sinus infection, I was at my wits end and willing to try anything to get better. I figured any non-medical therapy that claimed it could clean out my respiratory system would be worth a try. And so far… very impressed! I didn’t know what to expect from it but for me it really did seem to have an anti-inflammatory, bactericidal effect. After two times, I am starting to feel less congested. The adult meditation room is extremely relaxing and especially comforting despite the notion that you are breathing in salt. They also have a family room so that you can enjoy the therapy with others and even kids are welcome. The staff at the front desk is wonderful. They are flexible and comforting and really care that you get the relief you need from this therapy. I recommend a try even if you too think this idea of breathing in rock salt sounds silly… it might just not be for you.
