I purchased a Groupon for a 60 min massage. The atmosphere was horrible — the sounds from the salon were so distracting it was hard to relax and enjoy the massage. The table was uncomfortable, it kept making creaking noises. It is the first massage I have had where there wasn’t a heated blanket on the table, I was cold the whole time. It just wasn’t a relaxing environment to enjoy a massage.

My daughter purchased two group-ons for myself and my friend who I was visiting for her birthday. The appointments were made, but I was a little disappointed that they only had the one masseur, so we had to take turns — waiting an hour each. The wait wasn’t so bad. Staff allowed my friend’s daughter to change her gymnastic clothing, offered her a bottle of water and magazines to pass the time. As we waited a man came to change to lightbulbs that were really high up, but I wondered why they didn’t wait until after hours. Still the man maneuvered his ladder and didn’t break anything. As for the massage; my friend and I both agreed — too much oil. We both don’t like disrobing, so we kept on our clothing. I forgot to remove my bracelets and wasn’t asked to remove them so I really noticed the broken continuity of the massage on the one arm. A lot of time was spent on my arms and legs, but not so much my back. I thought there would be the pounding and turning my shoulder muscles into mush, but no. The masseur did try to do the reflexology that I’ve had at Happy Feet, Forest Park, IL, but didn’t seem to be trained or experienced in it enough to do it justice. I think with time this young man will have the experience to provide awesome services, but presently he seemed a bit timid and light handed. I did not have that Ahh! after the massage — you know when you just feel like jello and you don’t want to move. Although, it was ok — I just didn’t feel that great remembrance of a massage for the next day. As for the spa, it seemed rather trendy for NC. This was refreshing. Trendy sometimes means thinking outside of the box and being creative — this establishment definitely is different. I hope it catches on. They offer a variety of services and seem eager to welcome anyone looking for a treat.
