Boy, whatever happened to Quizno’s. I remember the days when their sandwiches were actually ½ tasty. So I went today because I was running short on time + I had a coupon for free drink + chips with purchase of sandwich. I ordered the large Italian that was $ 7.89 with tax. Had I had to pay for the full combo, it would’ve been an additional $ 2.89. Basically, a little under $ 12 for a mediocre sandwich is just way too much. If I want mediocre food, I would go next door to Mickey D’s and order off the $ 1 value menu or I could get the same thing from Subway for $ 6.

I stopped into this Quiznos because I had good experiences with Quiznos at other locations and it was convenient. I ordered the black angus peppercorn sub — ‘whole’ size. I had their black angus subs before and they were great, so I expected this one to be good also. It was, in a word, DREADFUL. I can be thankful that the size of the sandwich was a lot smaller than I hoped for. The bread was nothing like I remembered — it was totally generic, thin, small and tasteless. What happened to the good bread Quiznos used to have? The peppercorn sauce had no flavor at all. There was supposed to be onions and cheese on the sandwich but I couldn’t tell — to me it was just goo between two slices of bad bread. I understand Quiznos underwent some corporate reorganization and if this is the outcome then I understand all of the turmoil over it.
