I have already started dreaming of the queso a la plancha tacos, and that tomatillo salsa. Absolutely delicious. I can’t wait to go back!

The og t is a great steak sandwich, nothing mind blowing but exactly what it needs to be with good bread too match. Shoestring fries are also solid. Overall a borderline great sandwich and cool spot

Brunch? Yes please… Definitely get the«Paris 1910» open face sandwich with smoked ham, Oaxaca cheese, roasted poblano bechamel, two sunny side up eggs in a bed of fresh arugula! I got the full order but could’ve easily had half order… Definitely pair with a red beer :) TIP: Upon arrival at Avanti — I recommend heading up stairs immediately and grab your seats on the incredible roof-top patio… A lot of people arrive and don’t even know the upstairs exists… Then once you have your seats, someone will come by and take your order… Then start noshing away!

I got an OG T twice in three days. It was not overkill. The second one had the meat sliced the wrong way so it was a little tough but I trust they’ll work it out. Check out the space and get a torta for goodness sakes. The fries are perfect and salty and greasy too so you can’t say no to that.

Authentic Mexican tortas are my favorite. These are not even close, but I don’t think they are trying too mimic a real torta, especially since they are served with fries. The problem is that these sandwiches are on par with Subway. Not very good, unfortunately. We will try the other food places at Avanti in the future, this one is a miss. We expected better from the Pinché folks, so hopefully they will improve. If you do want a phenomenal torta I would recommend Tortas a Toda Madre on 38th and roughly Irving.

A-OK I guess. Got a Pollo Chimichurri torta for $ 10, which is one of the cheaper sandwiches on their menu. Cashier was friendly. Also got a horchata for $ 3. Took about ten minutes for the buzzer coaster to go off. I was underwhelmed — on Federal Boulevard and elsewhere tortas can be had for almost half as much, and they’re much bigger. Can also get more horchata for less as well. The torta didn’t seem like it had all that much on it: chicken breast, arugula or such, tomatoes, chimichurri, avocado and that was about it. Not all that many fries either. Avanti is an interesting and fairly lively space. Should be plenty of seating most of the time. Views from the balcony are quite nice.

The space is really cool, I love the communal nature of Avanti. I got the Porchetta pork loin sandwich and it was one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had. The tender meat slices and arugula was awesome. Yes, its more expensive than a typical fast food sandwich, but not by that much(if want a food court, go to the mall!) This was worth every penny.
