The skinny on this Old C’s — Pros: 1. Location — three blocks from Pepsi Center and six blocks from Coors Field 2. Lots and lots of beer choices 3. Friendly bartenders 4. Chicago 7 thick crust pizza. ‘Nuff said. Cons: 1. $ 10 parking or 2-hour max street parking if you can find a spot 2. $ 20 for a large thin crust pizza? 3. Wait staff is usually less than thrilled to be there. Can’t blame them with all the low-tipping, high-demand tourist riff-raff that comes through. But for us normal demand and normal tipping folk, it’s a stretch to lay out 25% on crappy and indifferent service. It’ll do for a meet up joint before the game or to do some quick beer pregaming before hitting the hot spots around the area.

Mostly visit this location during the work week for lunches. The lunch menu has a good variety and options for a great price(soup/salad/personal pizza combos), and when you work downtown some places can be a bit on the spendy side, but for the price and what you get here it’s a good deal. Service can sometimes be hit or miss depending on what time we arrive for lunch, but all in all this is a good lunch option during the work week.

Went to watch the Broncos play with some friends. It was very uncrowded for such a huge home game to my surprise. I had a few slices of Thai pizza which was actually pretty good. The Bloody Marys were ok too… better than average I would say. The highlight was the jalapeño pretzel. I guess its a four star place if the atmosphere wasnt so dead, and it seems like an out-of-place restaruant for LoDo. Old Chicago chain-restuarant seems more appropriate near the Tech Center or out in the ‘burbs for my taste. Maybe I’m just a downtown snob… :(

When you just need a beer but don’t know what kind Old Chicago is a great place to stop and select one of their many options. The variety of spirits is always a plus in my book. Unlike some other places the drink prices aren’t over the top but they aren’t dive bar prices either. That being said, it’s all about a quality selection hence the 4 stars. Depending on the time you dine this place can be packed with the LoDo crowd or it can be dead with plenty of room for large groups of people. On my most recent visit our server was very attentive to the 15+ people in my party. We never had to wait for drinks, food or the bill. Where food is concerned if you’ve been to one Old C’s you’ve been to most all of them. This isn’t a bad thing because dependability is a solid American commodity. I like that you know you’ll be getting a large meal that is paired well with a quality beer. This is always a good place to stop when you get home from a long trip and just need a regular old burger or pizza. The downtown location is easy and accessible which I like. It’s the perfect place to stop before or after a game or event at the Pepsi Center. Of course, parking in this section is a nightmare or overtly expensive, but if you’re on foot it’s always an easy choice. The combination of food and booze is always a good thing.

My husband and I have been to many Old Chicago’s. I would say this one is a bit run down. It was the first time we had visited this one, and the bar area is just not as nice of many in the chain. The bathrooms were run down as well. I think it needs a makeover. I love their pizza though. It is probably one of the best in Colorado. It really isn’t Chicago style though. We lived in the Chicago area for ten years, and this isn’t it. Real deep dish has the sauce on top. However, the pizza crust is delicious. I would say it reminds me of traditional California style pizza. The bartender was awesome and very friendly. The beer selection is great, and they carried Green Flash beer, one of my favorites.

place is awesome its an Old Chicago so you know what your getting into. But I commute from lone tree to drink here. The bartenders are awesome and if your a student 10% off your bill so that’s awesome. Get the Jalapeño cheese pretzels you wont be sorry.

It is what it is. Used to be a great lunch pizza buffet but now that they took that away it has lost a lot of its appeal. Now it’s just mediocre. Calzones are OK. I prefer Woody’s pizza.

I’m not usually a huge fan of chain sit-down restaurants, so I was a little hesitant about meeting up with friends here for a beer before we headed out for restaurant week to another restaurant down the street. However, I was pleasantly surprised at the number of beers they had on top and in bottles — something I was not ever aware of before coming here. The costs were reasonable, and it seems like a pretty decent place to grab a beer if you’re in the Larimer Square area and you’re not in the mood to deal with some of the other bars(and its typical clientele) nearby. I’m not sure I would ever eat here, especially since most everything on their menu appeared to be super fatty or greasy or fried… but I would consider stopping back in for a beer!

Haven’t been to an Old Chicago for a few years. The waiter was friendly and helpful. Atmosphere was nice, though the table lighting in the booths is glaring and very bright. Everyone got pizza and it was okay. The best thing was the pitcher of Kilkenny’s Irish Red Nitro. Something different for a Saturday night, won’t be going back anytime soon.

It’s a chain, but i always forget that it is! It’s a huge location, i can always find a place to sit — either in dining area or the bar. Tons of fried goodies to enjoy and fill up on. Tons of beer options, even for a woose like me — mmmm hogarden! Staff is great, lets you order willy nilly while catching up with friends! Food comes out quickly, bill arrives when needed, and i can’t say I’ve ever had anything but a decent experience! Favorites: Anaheim pepper spikes — woah! So fabulous and you get a ton! Surprise of the evening! Jalapeño cheese pretzels — yes! Super delicous, crispy and tasty! Skip: Fried pickles — not amazing and only get like 5

Not normally being ones for chains, we really didn’t have any other options the other night if we were going to eat before a show at the DCPA. It wasn’t our fault, either. We arrived downtown with more than enough time to grab some food, but places were just that busy. We settled for Old Chicago and I went in with an open mind. I have been to Old Chicago before, but quite some time ago. I remembered most of them being very large with tons of beers on tap; this one was no different. We walked in and were seated right away, even with our group of 5. Score! The waiter showed up right away, talked to us for a few minutes, took our drink order, and ran off to get it. He was super friendly and looked happy to be there. I really wasn’t in the mood for pizza, so I looked at some of the other options. I had my heart set on a certain dish at the other place we tried to go to first, and nothing on Old Chicago’s menu stood up to that, but I still gave it a chance. I opted to try a new addition to their menu which was a chicken pesto panini served with your choice of seasoned fries, coleslaw, or steamed veggies. My wife and I decided to split this dish and I also ordered a house salad. The food was OK, nothing spectacular, but it served its purpose for the evening. The thing that made this a great experience was the service. Our waiter wasn’t constantly standing over us, but he was there when we needed something. He made the whole dinning process smooth. We had drinks, apps, dinners, a couple more drinks all in a smooth flowing manner. We went in and out in an hour and on our way to the show with a little time to spare. Although not my first choice, I won’t forget to look at them as an option should the occasion arise again.

As your appetizer, you must order a load of Jamaican Jerk Wings. OMGSOOOOOOOOYUMMAY!!! Ladies, lotsa men in here, so forget the etiquette, you must use your hands, so forget the utensils and impressing the meat market sitting at the bar lol — DIGIN!!!

Parking sucks, but then hello you are downtown. Staff is friendly and when we were having issues picking a drink she was more than helpful in waiting for us to decided. Food was hot and yummy; will be back.

I am completely disappointed in Old Chicago. My girlfriend and I went here for lunch today. We only had 1 hour to enjoy lunch, so there were some time constraints. Anyway, we both wanted to get the pizza buffet. At $ 8.99, this is a good value for lunch, especially with all you can eat pizza. We were seated immediately. However, after waiting 25 minutes for a waiter, we had to leave. Lunch break is only one hour, and we were pushing on 12:30. I understand lunch rush can be stressful, but we mentioned that we needed a waiter to the hostess. 10 minutes later, no waiter /waitress was to be found. This place has a lot of potential for lunch, but this was disappointing. A restaurant should never understaff.

Although I’ve been to many Old Chicago locations on many many occasions– I have not Unilocaled about Old Chicago. Until now! SERVICE: The main reason for the high stars on this review is our«server». This young girl had a nose piercing and tattoo’s all over– but was a pro! I’m hell with names– and really need to use my Unilocal Mobile App for android a bit better– especially when I get service like that.(Quick Tip) anyways– she was delightful, prompt and efficient. FOOD: Buffalo Chicken Pizza Rolls! OHYEAH!!! Are you FREEKINKIDDINGME? I was a fan of the Pepperoni Pizza Rolls(appetizer btw…) but WHOA! YAY! I’m a fan! Perfect bites of awesome– Chicken, Spicy wing sauce, Bleu cheese and Celery all wrapped up safely in Old Chicago’s Calzone/Pizza Dough. NOM!

This is the first meal I had when I moved to Denver, and still like going there. My favorites are the Thai Pie on a thin crust, the Meat Me in Chicago-style, and the Hawaiian on either crust. The thin crust is toasty and crunchy, so it goes well with the Thai Pie that uses toasted sesame seeds in the crust. The Chicago-style crust is just like a deep-dish crust but with more butter… mmm…buttteeerrrr. Old Chicago has the only pizza that I actually look forward to finishing the crust. Ask for a side of ranch, dip the crust in there, and it’ll be just as good as the pizza. Anywhere else you ask for a side of ranch for your crust, they totally look at you like you are loon. They also have an awesome selection of beers! They have a World Beer Tour program where you get a T-shirt for drinking 110 beers(not in one sitting). I don’t know if a T-shirt is really worth multiple visits to one restaurant to complete 110 beers, but I recommend their Flight of Beers, where you can sample four different 4-oz. beers at a time. That way, your night won’t end up with pee and puke everywhere. 1 star off: appetizers and salads are just okay 1 star off: there’s no Old Chicago in Chicago, what the?
