Can’t go wrong with this location, or the one in Boulder. Consistent, quality food and fresh ingredients. I usually go with the char dog and fries which are both fantastic. Burgers are great. I will go out of my way to find a good hot dog and put Mustard’s up there as one of the best in the Denver/Boulder area

I was in town looking for a local place to get lunch and saw Mustard ‘s last stand. An employee Bradley I believe his name was provided excellent customer service with a friendly smile and the hot dog I ordered was amazing. Bradley gave me a run down of different menu items and I left feeling like this is the kind of place I’d frequent often. I made sure to spread the word that this location is quality and worth visiting. The atmosphere was great, highly recommend.

Dear Mustard’s Last Stand Corn Dog, I love you. My co-workers had mentioned this magnificent establishment for lunch one day and I decided to tag along. Upon entering the building, I was surrounded by DU weirdos and I frantically searched for something to order as the line was moving along quickly. Although everything on the menu looked delicious, something very special in particular caught my eye. The corn dog. I hadn’t had a corn dog in let’s see, possibly a decade? Something about a corn dog sounded so amazing to me at the time. It was like when I locked eyes with the menu item, I knew it was meant to be. I preceded to order the corny dog with a side of fries and cheese sauce.(That cheese sauce tho…) and waited for the future joy of my life to be battered and fried to perfection. Let’s just skip to the good part shall we? Once I made it back to my work station, I unwrapped the paper, revealing the golden brown cornbready shell wrapped around the meaty dog. I dipped the dog in mustard, took a bite and wow… it was fate! We are obviously meant to be, forever together in deep fried deliciousness. I knew from the minute it touched my lips that we would never be parted again. It was truly love at first bite. I was never a believer in soulmates until I met you Mustard’s Last Stand Corn Dog. You brought me an immense amount of pleasure in a sheer two minutes. Until we meet again. #CornDoggystyle

Mustard’s Last Stand is a no fills Denver and Boulder institution. I have been eating there for well over 20 years and it is still some of the best reasonably priced food in town. The staff is welcoming and genuinely proud of their product. The Chicago dog is fantastic and the Italian beef stands out as one of the best sandwiches if ever had. It’s a great place to bring the kids or even just satisfy a case of the munchies on your own. The DU neighborhood has changed a lot over the years but thankfully, Mustard’s has stayed true to it’s wonderful self.

I hate to admit it, but I’ve been cheating on my usual hot dog place with Mustard’s. I’m completely hooked. They make a great dog. I usually just get the traditional Chicago dog and its fantastic. Honey has been getting the german brat and he’s completely in love with it. They have a large menu with lots of different options, sandwiches, burgers, and perfectly crispy fries. The fries are always made fresh to order. Check em out, you can’t go wrong! They have a parking lot on the side of the building that is usually always full, but hey you never know when you might get lucky and snag a spot.

Any place that’s main staple is meat that also caters to vegetarians is awesome in my book! I’m the kind of vegetarian that doesn’t crave vegetables and rather craves dishes that often have meat. So when I tried this place’s veggie dog I was in love. I’m not a Hugh hot dog person, but this place has made me a fan. I decided to go all out and get all the toppings(mustard, onions, pickle, pepper, relish, sauerkraut) and I was not disappointed. All the flavors went together beautifully and I was sad when I was done. I got a «taste» of fries which was the perfect size! Great food and really cute little shop.

Nice staff and quick service :) the dogs were decent. I’m not quite sure what all the hype is about though. The thing I really like about this place is their vegetarian options — so many choices(yummy vegetarian chili cheese fries)!

So-so. Friendly staff and the polish is ok. Not worth the trip. As for the famous French fries give me a break Micky D has done it better for decades. So if your near and your hungry this is an option.

I love good hot dogs and mustards is delicious. I always see how busy they are and that’s a good sign! I ordered the chili cheese dog to go and when I got home and finished it I regretted not ordering two. The fries are delicious too

This may be my first review I’ve ever written, but I felt compelled to do so because the this place knocks it out of the park EVERY single time I go there. I grew up in Chicago and love my Chicago-style dogs and Italian beef combos and these guys do it right! Not only are they consistent every time, the guest service that comes along with the awesome food is second to none. On my visit last week, they forgot something for my order, which wasn’t a big deal for me as they have never missed anything in the 4 years I’ve been going here. The kicker today was that they remembered me and even let me know they realized the error after I walked out and tried to run out and find me. I didn’t even bring it up, they did and they couldn’t have been more accomodating, including the owner who happened to be there today when I was there. I’m assuming the guy that recognized me is a family member and/or the GM. He’s awesome as is the whole crew. These guys are the real deal. Everyone needs to give them a shot and I guarantee they’ll make a fan out of you after the first visit.

We’re new to the neighborhood and were looking for a good burger one night and we definitely found one! The place itself is a little dated but I think it adds to the authenticity of it! The food was great and the service was fantastic! i would definitely come back for a quick lunch or dinner!

Mustards Last Stand is a fantastic local find! I was super hungry and needed a quick bite and decided to try this place. To my amazement it superceded my expectations and absolutely satisfied my hunger. I always thought that hot dogs should be more exciting than just ketchup and mustard or the occasional chili dog and after going here I discovered what a Chicago style dog is. It was so good! and so different than that average hot dog that I’ve always had growing up. I will definitely return to this place!

Good dogs, good fries, nice staff. This place is a local landmark, and I’ve come here multiple times over the years. Décor is crazy unique, and stands out like an awesome sore thumb from the outside. Reason for 4 stars instead of 5? More often than not, the place is a mess inside. Not gross messy, but needs trash thrown away and a broom on the floor sort. Add an extra staff member? Plenty of college kids nearby who might work for a free meal and $ 8 an hour. Just a suggestion in the end; I’ll be back always.

They serve veggie dogs, or soy dogs? Meatless dogs. Which is why this place appealed to me. Ordered two Chicago dogs, one with chili. Thought they were bland. My friend who eats meat liked hers so if your a vegetarian might look for other options.

Wowee. The Char dog was pretty stand-out, but the FRIES! The fries were perfectly crispy, super fresh, with just a little bit of salt — not overwhelmingly doused in salt like a lot of places tend to do. I appreciate that. Also, a pretty awesome patio — nice and shady, good for people-watching. It’s also got a unique, one-off vibe… décor and employees seem a bit quirky. I liked their sign: «If you haven’t gotten your food in 5 minutes… relax, you’ll get it in 10 – 15.»

I find the Chicago Dogs to be the best ever; the veggies on top are super fresh, and the soft buns exquisite; however, it cost me $ 12 today for 2 dogs, a taste of fries, and a med. drink– are you kidding me? That’s way too high. Oh! The fries are fresh cut daily and are awesome!

Being from Chicago, I figured I had to see what all the fuss was about when I moved to Denver and found this little gem. I will say, the Chicago dogs are great and their fries are pretty on point with the fries you get from back home at the divey hot dog stands. I’ll definitely keep coming back here, but their prices are ridiculously high for what they offer… hot dogs. It $ 4 and some odd change for a Chicago dog, no kraut and no fries. I understand they can charge this much because people, much like myself, keep coming back. But, eventually we might find somewhere else just as good and *gasp* cheaper. For now, I’ll keep visiting this place when I get a Chicago craving.

Fun place to go, and my parents always insist when they’re in town. Great dogs and fries, quick. And the outdoor seating is nice.

The service was great. The guy behind the counter was nice and they were really fast about getting the food out to me. I thought the Chicago dog was a bit small and dry. The fries were okay, just a little salty. For the price it was good and the condiments were plentiful, but the hot dog itself left more to be desired.

I have to start by saying that even though I am from IL and lived in the Chicagoland area for many years… Chicago style hot dogs are not my favorite style of hot dogs. I prefer a large meaty hot dog like Biker Jim’s has. With that being said, Mustard’s Last Stand does what they are trying to do… service good Chicago Style Hot Dogs… very well. Fun little atmosphere. Good food and friendly service. My only warning is BECAREFUL where you PARK. If you park in the lot next door… that kind of looks like it could be theirs, you could be towed.

I didn’t understand the hype around Chicago dogs until two years ago when I finally partook of one on their native soil. It was the last day of a bachelor party, the previous two leaving us equal parts exhausted and hungover. The edge of a Midwest summer was thankfully dulled by the lake, but that took nothing from the oasis-like quality of the hotdog stand that delivered us from over-partied blues to almost-feeling-like-a-normal-person-again territory. I was instantly and wholly converted to the One True Hotdog camp, knowing that finding its equal outside of its home city would not be easy. Years of searching later and here we are. I hardly dared to believe it myself, but it’s true: Mustard’s makes a mean, legitimate Chicago dog. I considered that maybe my memory had been dulled with time, but I had the incredible fortune of dining with a former Chicagoan who gave Mustard’s his stamp of approval. So, yes — the Chicago dog here is amazing. It has the peppers and everything and oh man I wish I had another one RIGHTNOW. The fries were also very good but I can’t vouch for much else on the menu. Really, I don’t know if I’ll ever feel the need to. The place has about the same feel as a hotdog stand with the amenities of a restaurant, so don’t expect anything too fancy. It’s an awesome spot to grab a bite with some friends or even on your own when you’re on the run, but maybe only bring a date who can appreciate the simple goodness of street food.
