Late night happy hour at Lala’s is where it’s at! I like wine no matter the type. However, a «house wine hangover» could be avoided if I was willing to go a few extra bucks more. But that’s not even an issue at Lala’s, since it’s ½ priced glasses of vino after 10 pm. Go for that varietal that seemed a little out of your price range regularly… and then you’re hooked. Note that they do have Infinite Monkey Theorem Cab Franc on the list as well, something that’s becoming more prevalent outside of the tasting room, but still somewhat unique. Lala’s also has a pretty strong Chardonnay list. A good chard is something you can warm up to with time… after the rose trend is over, I’d be willing to bet that Chardonnay will be on the up and up. Thank you, Lala’s, for staying open late and being so accommodating to the winos out there in Denver.

In Denver for a couple days, looking for a place with gluten free options and found Lala’s! Had a great time, food was definitely good, and the wine options plentiful! They have a «help us clean out our cellar» discounted wine bottle menu with lots of options — a good bottle of rose for $ 25 — not bad! Brussel sprouts appetizer — yummmmm!!! Quinoa salad with salmon — DELICIOUS! Butternut squash ravioli — pretty tasty! Gluten free pizza crust — great! The vibe is cute, a little loud, but service is good and I would Definitely go back!

Happy hour deal and ambiance make this place worth visiting. Food is OK, though happy hour apps are to be avoided. It is nice inside, feels more upscale yet approachable, relative to other establishments in the area. Service is generally good, prompt and courteous. The times I have ordered happy hour apps, I have been disappointed. I specifically remember getting the lamb meatballs, which came out in less than 30 seconds, cold. As for dinner, I have only eaten a full meal there once, so I do not expect my experience to be taken as global — but I enjoyed the brussel sprouts and calamari apps, and pizza entrée.

Came to Lala’s for the first time. We had 8 of us for my wife’s birthday. The food was awesome, the wines were great, and our server(Brad) was just as awesome. BTW-Bacon wrapped dates are very good as are the fried brussel sprouts. We got a variety of dishes and it was all VERY good. Can’t say enough about Brad either. We had a great time and my wife and I will be back again as soon as we can!

The food was«ok» but have to say the service was poor. Had to look around to find our waitress more than once, had to ask for bread– soup wasn’t brought out first– and unless we were looking for her she never came back to our table to check on us. Disappointing …

My friend and I were on a Denver adventure– ok, not so much of an adventure as it was a way to escape the Springs for a day. My friend became the proud fur-parent to a new puppy and we wanted to find a place to eat that was«dog-friendly»…well, it wasn’t that hard considering we were in Denver. Fast forward– we stumbled upon Lala’s Wine Bar + Pizzeria, and I am SO glad we did! We sat outside on the patio(such a beautiful sunny day, too) and tied the doggy up to the metal fence(unfortunately, he had to be on the outside of the fence, it was ok, he didn’t seem to mind). We were immediately greeted by a pleasant waitress who filled our water glasses and handed us each a food and drink menu and proceeded to explain their specials. I decided on a glass of Moscato and my friend had an Italian soda– both delicious! We ordered bacon wrapped dates, caprese, and Italian Wedding soup, for starters. HOLYTASTEBUDEXPLOSION– the bacon wrapped dates, there are no words, only feelings, I wish I had taken an additional order of them to-go. The caprese was typical as well as the Italian Wedding soup… bacon wrapped dates… DELICIOUS! For the main course we decided on a white pizza with garlic, mozzarella, ricotta, and parmesan cheese. The crust was a bit ‘burnt’ but not enough to ruin the meal. I highly recommend the pizza! No meal is complete without dessert– at this point, we had loosened our belts and shifted in our seats as we were feeling a bit ‘stuffed’ but we needed dessert. I ordered the tiramisu and my friend ordered the crème brulee. Again, out of this world delicious! I highly recommend this restaurant if you are looking for a casual café with outdoor seating, large wine menu, and BACONWRAPPEDDATES(seriously, order them, you won’t be disappointed). The service was extremely fast and efficient and the wait-staff was kind, inviting, and knowledgeable. I will definitely eat here again, if not solely for the bacon wrapped dates, did I mention how good they were?

I’ve only been here for brunch(twice) but what a great spot! There is bottomless mimosas, which is a must have. Bloody marys come regular or spicy, both are great. I can recommend the breakfast pizza, although i think they should try baked eggs vs scrambled. Nutella and bread starter. The biscuit in gravy is OUTOFTHISWORLD, it has a spicy chorizo you cant stop eating it. Service is quick an attentive. Ambiance is lovely, big enough to sit large parties but you don’t get lost in the crowd.

We had a great lunch here last week while in town visiting family and I was super impressed with their delicious gluten free options! It is a lovely restaurant with low lighting and elegant decorations. There’s a cute little patio and then a main dining and bar area. We came in on a weekday after the lunch hour so it wasn’t very busy. We were given a nice table by the window and our server was very prompt and attentive. They have a gf menu as large as the regular menu that included special goodies I rarely get like calamari fritte and pizzas. I obviously had to get the calamari with a house salad. There were so many things that sounded good though, I could’ve eaten for days! The salad was fresh and had great flavors with its in house dressing. The calamari was awesome and I could have licked the plate. My fiancé and my uncle had a sandwich and salad and my aunt really enjoyed her eggplant parmesan. Price is very reasonable. Definitely check it out if you’re in the area and especially if you’re allergic to evil gluten!

Lala’s is a great local spot to gather, have cocktails, wine and a bite to eat. It has plenty of seating and great friendly servers. The wine list is pretty good, with wonderful Happy Hour specials(basically half off wine). Plus! Wednesdays is «ladies» night– 5 women together score a free bottle of bubbly! Right on! Food was… alright…I had a complete miss with the artichoke salad, a sad affair of boxed spinach, jarred artichoke hearts, jarred red peppers all swimming in saline water from the jars… I picked at it and my friend ended up sending it back FORME! How nice. I then got meat balls and we split brussels sprout– they were better. We will see what happens when I get back here on «Ladies Night» and sample some more food, but Lala’s is solid!

Would have been a 4 but apparently they changed the happy hour to end at 6. I used to come here all the time and having HH till 7 was a huge reason. Being an attorney, often people can’t get out of the office and to HH until at least 5:30. But now their’s ends at the same time as everyone else’s so no reason to come here over any other place really. To be fair I do like the wine selection – I just can’t afford it unless it is on their HH. I will say that the arugula pesto dip with the bread is super yummy and I always get it. I’ve typically been very happy with the service except for once or twice.

Excellent service(always excellent). The staff not only welcomes me every time, but they’re actually happy, friendly, funny, and so delightful. Like, they actually take time to crack a joke or laugh with us and still manage to turn tables with excellence. I ended up being a little more high maintenance than I was anticipating. I like a pepper grinder with my food, an oil /balsamic vinegar cruse. I didn’t realize that though the restaurant was completely dead amid a Bronco’s game but when I needed extra attention, it had gotten pretty busy. The server was very kind, very thoughtful and even under stress, delivered perfectly. I turned to my partner and said, «the service… the service is ALWAYS excellent here and that’s why I love it here». In the end, we left way more than 20% because we were taken care of very well.

I really wanted to love this place. I had a brunch birthday celebration with 10 people. They have a large table that sits 14 which is great for big crowd. The service was the absolute worse. It seemed impossible to order your food and when you are paying for bottomless mimosas, they should be refilling when it’s empty. Then they decided to charge a couple of friends for the bottomless mimosas claiming they were drinking from it… It was annoying and awkward and I didn’t want to make a scene and fight about it but I felt bad for my friends. When the food arrived, it was pretty average and almost everyone agreed they weren’t impressed. I think I’d be okay and give it another try if the server wasn’t so rude but it killed the vibe.

Came here to hang out with other Denver women photogs, to network and mingle! As others call it, «Friendor» as in friend/vendor. I was Tempted to order pizza, but my tummy wouldn’t appreciate it much. LOL. I ordered the Artichoke Salad and a friend ordered the Eggplant Parmesan. They were both delish! We actually shared each other’s food and mixed it up. Me and other photogs ordered a bottle of Rose which paired well with my meal. The resto is vibrant, the service was awesome(There was about 20 of us and our server was willing to separate all of our checks), the restaurant menu was amazing! Lots of selections with beers and wine! Overall an awesome and vibrant place for groups!

Lala’s used to be solid. What happened?! The family dinner is a prime example of this place going downhill. $ 10 for a solid all you can eat meal. Well… now it’s $ 13 and the ingredients have been completely cheaped out. The salad is not even really simple, and the spaghetti and red sauce is basically store bought quality. The pizza is the only thing that makes this remotely worth it. I think this place got too popular. For happy hour, the drinks are still a killer deal. But there is no longer any food on happy hour, a real bummer.

I went there tonight for dinner and they served me the rarest pork chop ever. The pork chop was closer to pork sushi than a pork chop. I’m not talking medium or medium rare. But rare rare. Sent it back and the kitchen said that’s the right temperature. I swear it was so rare I was worried it would start oinking back at me. They didn’t even comp the dish. Sad because I thought this place was pretty good beforehand when I went for brunch.

Stopped in last night for dinner and drinks with a friend. We both started with glasses of wine and took our time catching up before ordering. Our waitress was very attentive and had a nice balance of seeing to our needs without checking in every 5 minutes(pet peeve). I had an artichoke salad with grilled shrimp. My girlfriend ordered the orzo with both chicken and shrimp which she enjoyed and made sure to get a box to take the rest home for a snack later. My salad was okay, but not my favorite. The artichoke seems right out of the can/jar and not drained properly before being added to the salad which made it very wet. The shrimp were cooked perfectly and seasoned well. We got there at 5:30 and the place filled up quickly. With the good wine selection and happy hour specials, I’ll definitely come back and try the other menu items!

I think I liked it well enough! I came here intending to have happy hour specials, but learned that they only do HH at the bar. We had a table. Boo! BUT, we still got wine specials. Any wine that’s $ 10 or under is $ 5 at happy hour time. Still a win in my book. I got my glass(es) of red that I sure needed after circling round and round trying to find parking! Shared burrata and Foresta pizza with one other at my table. Was plenty of food for us both. The burrata was great, and the pizza was pretty tasty. The crust was actually pretty good in my book: thin yet slightly crispy and chewy texture. Another at my table got the Brussels sprouts and oh my, they were to die for. Is it weird that I woke up the morning after craving Brussels sprouts? Don’t judge me and try them for yourself. They were perfectly crisped and salted, seasoned with bacon bits, pepitas, and something sweet(honey or maple). It was the perfect balance of flavor and texture. Mouth.watering.slightly. Service was pretty A-ok. My only peeve was that the waitress brought my wine glass out and brought me no wine for a while… I mean, I got it eventually. Another in party experienced the same thing. Hey man, like I said I was circling like a mad woman looking for parking for at least 20 minutes and just needed wine ASAP! Good enough. I’ll be back. Fun atmosphere that could probably be date friendly too, in case that’s what you’re looking for.

Very disappointing. This used to be one of my favorite places especially with the amazing gluten free options. However the last two times I was there it was awful. The Brussels came out almost black and clearly burnt and the food was mediocre. I decided to give it a shot last night again in hopes that there had been some improvement. Unfortunately my meal consisted of over cooked calamari, over salted gluten free bread(they have changed from the original flatbread that used to be amazing, and mushy and flaked off artichoke hearts(which used to be three beautiful flash fried pieces of art) as well as the meatballs which weren’t awful but still not the same. We were very disappointed. Don’t fix what isn’t broken I miss the old Lala’s food. The food is left in the fryer way too long and the color and consistency is very uneven which also means the frying oil needs to be changed. I gave two stars instead of one because at least the wait staff is great.

I reluctantly returned to Lala’s for dinner on a Wednesday night and was greeted with much better service than before. The pizza was still great, and the wine was good too. We sat at a high top in the bar area which was fine… But this server was much much better than the first one– attentive, nice, took our order, checked in. I advise going on any night except Friday and Saturday.

In summary, overpriced, not recommended. Decent food, average wine selection, a «hard to hear» environment on a Friday at 830p, way too expensive for the value received. The total price for 2 glasses of wine, an appetizer, and an entrée was $ 75 with tip.

The atmosphere was okay, but it was literally the most disgusting meal I’ve had in a long time. For starters we ordered the flatbread. After it was delivered to the table we realized we had no oil. We waited for our waitress, but she was nowhere to be found so we decided to ask the waitress serving the table next to us her response was«sure». Fifteen minutes later still no oil. By the time our waitress came back and we asked her for oil, our bread was cold. She did bring us «fresh» bread, but the«fresh» bread was burnt and black on the bottom. Needless to say, we gave up on the bread and held out hope for our meal. I ordered the sausage lasagna. It made me feel sick after one bite. It was hard and crusty. It tasted like leftovers they served at a buffet a week prior. This was an awful dinner experience I don’t think I could be paid to go back. Save yourself your Friday night and your money.

This is my go-to wine bar in the Capitol Hill area. Their selection of Californian, South American and Italian wines is quite good and their pizzas are great– Classic Italian wood-fired. The reason to go is for the happy hours– 5 dollar wines!!! There are also great appetizer deals. Also, Wednesday is lady’s night so girls, stop by here and receive happy hour all night long; it is a perfect way to break up the week. Lastly, I love Sunday supper– it is a four course meal of simple Italian(bruschetta, salad, pizza and spaghetti) that is all you can eat for 12.99/person, which is an extraordinary deal. So, if you want to carb-load with friends at a fantastic price, come on Sunday’s. FYI– no to-go boxes(don’t be greedy folks and only order what you can eat).

Lala’s is a brunch spot in Denver that won’t have a wait. It won’t be the best food in your life, but that’s not why you go. Get the bottomless mimosas(my lady friends and I love the carafe options, although you do need to be proactive with your server to make sure it keeps getting refilled) and the French press coffee. In terms of food, I usually go for a Benedict. It’s easy. The side potatoes are okay, but nothing worth oohing and aahing over. That said, the dinner is also worth a try. I’ve had a few of their pizzas and salad options. While good, they aren’t good enough for the prices being charged. Your best bet is definitely a liquid brunch!

I give this place a 5-star rating for their Brunch and Happy Hour. I haven’t had dinner here in years. Happy Hour– All wine is either 5 dollars or half off per glass. Happy Hour apps are only served in the bar, but Happy Hour goes until 7(which is almost unheard of in the area). Brunch– I have to admit, when I come to Lala’s for food, I have to authentic thin crust pizza. I love the breakfast pizza(just needs a little salt) and the other pizza on the brunch menu, Margherita, is also simple and delicious! If you only take one thing I say in this review, take this: YOUHAVETOTRYTHEFLATBREADWITHARUGALAPESTO&MASCARPONE! It is the best tasting item in Gov’s Park and a great deal at only $ 4! DOIT!

If you want a decent brunch without having to wait in Denver, Lala’s does the trick. There is never a wait, which is hard to find in Denver, and the servers and staff are friendly and polite. There is also outside seating. However, the menu can be hit and miss — the benedicts are probably your best bet, my favorite being the Croque Madame(which isn’t actually the best name for this dish though, since it isn’t an actual Croque Madame…), or just the simple Lala’s breakfast. From my experience as well as my friends’, it seems that the fancier dishes don’t always live up to expectations. However, as another reviewer noted, the best reason to go to Lala’s is for the beverages — $ 12 bottomless mimosas and french press coffee are a delightful Sunday morning combination, especially when you don’t have to wait for them.

This review is for Lala’s brunch service. I’ve brunched here a countless number of times, but have never actually had dinner here, so wanted to give that disclaimer in all fairness. I’ve lived in Denver since graduating college, and as a 22 year old drinking bottomless mimosas with my girlfriends, this place was the perfect brunch spot. There’s never a wait, the restaurant itself is quite beautiful and comfortable, it’s in a great location, and like I mentioned– bottomless mimosas! But, as we’ve grown older and our palates have perhaps grown more sophisticated, I have to say Lala’s has really disappointed me the last few times I came in for brunch. The service has always been polite and reasonably timely. The big issue is the food. The last meal I ate here was the Frittata Primavera and it was bland and watery, which I’m assuming is from not properly cooking the veggies before putting them into the egg mixture. I could only stomach a few bites before pushing the plate aside and deciding I’d just fix myself a PB&J when I got home. The Breakfast Stromboli is enormous, which under normal circumstances would be a perk, but in this case, not so much. There was so much bread, to the point where the insides weren’t fully cooked and tasted just like eating raw dough. Yuck. The best item I’ve had here for brunch is simply the Breakfast Pizza– makes sense for an Italian place. I’ve also heard decent things about the Chicken & Waffles which no longer appear to be on the menu. French press coffee is also a nice touch. I’d consider returning to Lala’s for their dinner service, which I’ve heard is considerably better, but as far as brunch goes, I’ve found some new favorites in town.

Sunday dinner… more like a Sunday screwing. Not to mention our server, I guess she lives by the creed«stay trippy.» So my biggest gripe about the whole deal was they bill this no To-Go boxes as some environmental BS. I mean go back to Boulder if that’s what’s going on. Am I right or am I right. So I had a table full of food that I could of ate lunch on for the next week and they tell me I can’t take it home with me because they are environmentally conscious. And I’m all like«well I own this food, I done bought this… straight cash» so I had to carry out half a pizza, some spaghetti, and 3.5 toasted raviolis out of there with my bare hands like a savage. Anyways foods goods, just doesn’t make a lot of sense that they are okay with throwing away a bunch of perfectly good food rather than give out a small made of recycled BS To-Go box. 6969420

In my opinion… Lala’s Wine Bar + Pizzeria is wine café, a place to be seen while having a drink. We walked in on a Friday night, and did not have reservations. There were quite a few empty tables at that point in the evening(around 5:15 pm). We were asked if we had a reservation, and we said no. We were told we could sit at the«kitchen bar,» which we gladly did. I like sitting where I can ‘see the action’ that is going on in the kitchen and/or the bar. When you sit in these areas, you get a good idea about what is going on in the restaurant/establishment, how food/drinks are prepared, the care that is put into your food/drinks, you get the picture. Looking into the kitchen, I’ll put it as a «café type» kitchen. There were not any big stoves/ovens with large pots of say, homemade sauces(like spaghetti sauce, etc.) simmering on them. There was a large counter, where the kitchen staff(and I’m not going to call anyone who was there that night a chef), worked on one side, and the other side was where the other employees would go to pickup the food, where the food expeditor worked. It looked like there was a salad type station, as well. There were two large pizza ovens, where the flat breads and pizza were cooked. Food — the flatbread and the pizza were good, we enjoyed both. These are what you would find in any other pizza or Italian restaurant, so nothing out of the ordinary. We did not have any of the pastas, so I can’t comment on those. I also cannot comment on the salads, although they did look good as they were brought out of the kitchen. Interior — browns, tans, earth tones, comfortable, yet loud. Don’t expect to have serious conversations here with the people you are with, as you might miss something important due to the loud atmosphere. This is a place to have a Happy Hour drink, and relax a bit after a busy week at work. LaLa’s is expanding into the corner space, which previously was a cleaners. Give them some time, as I’m sure they will have to do some remodeling, but the added space will be good for them. Parking — street parking, but the majority of the immediate area is free parking. Service — good Additional comment — while looking around at the employees, especially those that worked in the kitchen(which includes the majority of the staff, as many of them went back to pick up dishes that were ready to be served to the patrons), I noticed that long hair was not tied back, and none of the staff workers wore hair nets. Several of the young men in the kitchen had on hats. Now, I’m not current on «restaurant/kitchen codes,» or whatever you want to call them, but shouldn’t your staff, especially the people that work in the kitchen, have hair tied back, or be wearing hair nets? I’m not sure about where hats come into those codes either. I did see one waitress go into the kitchen, as she first pushed her long hair back, off of of her shoulders, with her hands. She then proceeded to immediately pick up a salad plate, and take it out of the kitchen, and serve it to someone. This employee had long hair, which was past her shoulders. She did not have any of it tied back. I’m not sure about you, buy this offends me. Again, isn’t this against restaurant/food code? Review — LaLa’s is a place to have a drink, have an appetizer, and«be seen.» Don’t go and expect a fabulous Italian entrée. LaLa’s is just like the sign says, a «Wine Bar + Pizzeria,» nothing else. They are what they say they are. I’ve given them 3 stars, could go with 2 stars, due to the«hair issues,» which still bother me, but the flatbreads and pizza are good, so I bumped it up to 3 stars.

well, I have been here 2x’s now. I will say that I think it is living on it’s past reputation. It is not a bad place, it is just not a great place. I think that it was a great place at one time. Now that time is gone. It is well known in the area and my friend who lives there, really wanted to go the first time so we did. Even though she really wanted to be there, she kept finking fault with everything. I got the Aranchini, it could of been hotter and I needed more sauce. we also got flat bread and Eggplant Parm as well as Polette. Average prices, average food. I gave it a 2nd try with a different group. Still the same thing . The wine was good and only $ 7.00 a glass. Staff was nice and the restroom was clean.

I love Lala’s. The food is well above average and the wine selection is large enough anyone can find something that will satisfy them. Both times I have visited Lala’s, it has been during happy hour. For the product they are selling, happy hour is a great deal. Most of the glasses of wine are at least 50% off full menu prices. I am not sure the days happy hour runs, but I have been in both times on Saturday around dinner time and happy hour has been in effect. I know it runs until 7pm on Saturdays. The food is well above average as I said before. I have had both pasta and pizza dishes and both times I was not let down. The ingredients are fresh and unique. I will most certainly be returning to Lala’s in the future.
