What am I doing here? I can’t drink!!! I’ve just always wanted to check out«The Library» and La Biblioteca sure didn’t disappoint with a darker themed décor equipped with library card catalog and everything! It is also definitely more of a drink place than food place. Getting the same dishes from Zengo next door doesn’t taste as good as at Zengo. All my stars(I’d say more like a 3.5 than 3) are given to the Mandarin Mocktail which is a virgin Mojito. It is so refreshing it made my hubby wonder what kind of mint was used, and from there, a friendly conversation with our waitress, she’s cool.

Ok I’ll tell you why 2 stars and don’t hold it against them. I’m unable to eat anything spicy and the majority of their dishes are spicy. So I tried the custom order option and it didn’t go well. I basically had noodles in water with no flavor at all.(apparently when I say not spicy people think they can’t even add salt. Either that or they are unable to wing it and only knows the recipes on the menu.) That said they did try, so kudos there. I have a few friends who regularly attend their tequila tasting nights, so stop in and give them a shot.

I walk by La Biblioteca every day and while it’s never as crowded as Zengo, it always has a good number of people inside. I had my worries based on some other reviews that it would be a letdown, but it was a great happy hour experience. The only disappointing item my date and I tried was the Sangria — it just didn’t drink like Sangria, more like red wine on ice. Strange. Otherwise, the beverages were very good — we tried five different margaritas(well, one house and four with infused tequila). In order of deliciousness, Pineapple, Blueberry, Cranberry Orange, Cucumber, and House — although they were all good. Luckily we were walking home, they sure do go down smooth. If you just stop in for a few drinks you could have a very reasonable check. I am, unfortunately?, a fiend when presented with lots of appetizer options, so we had to try almost everything. Let me start by saying you should absolutely get the Asparagus Tempura Tacos. They are absolutely wonderful. The Blistered Shishito peppers were a nice bite, as were three different sushi rolls of which our favorite was the Salt & Pepper Shrimp. We also had the chicken wings, which are battered, crispy, and delicious. The batter puffs up something fierce though, so I was stricken with giggles when I saw the drumstick had nearly doubled in size. I was looking for a good night out to take away some of the stresses of life, and La Biblioteca delivered. Service was prompt and friendly, and everything was delicious. Thanks.

The happy hour here is great. The amount of infused tequila is great, and I really enjoyed the drinks that I had. The food menu consists of mainly appetizers/small portions, but it was easy enough to build a meal out of, and at a fairly cheap price. The space is dark, and there isn’t a ton of seating, but I enjoyed a spot at the bar, and the warm, cozy ambiance was a perfect match for a snowy evening.

I am giving them five stars because I have never been welcomed as a first time guest the way I was anywhere. We came her on a whim as they were part of the passport winter warmer. The owner or manager immediately came and struck up a conversation, and told us all about the offers they have such as the tequila club and a special good deal nearly every night. We wee there on a Tuesday, which happened to be two dollar taco Tuesday and man was I satisfied. Although they are small, they are super flavorful and filling. Must have: the Serrano pepper margarita!

Great location But generally a desultory place with mediocre food — owned by the folks who have the equally mediocre Zengo next door.

We came here once for a drink before an event that was next door at Zengo. We didn’t realize it was a different place till much later when we notice the company name on the drinks menu. We just wandered in thinking it was still Zengo. The service was good, very nice staff that were flat out but kept looking after us — we were sitting at the bar after all. A few weeks ago(about 3 weeks) I tried to book a table for brunch. Open table oddly said it was full so I tried to call. I originally called before they were open so I just hung up and called back after they were open and got the machine. So I left a message to be called back — nothing. I called the next day, still no answer so I didn’t bother leaving anther message. I just booked at Zengo on open table instead.

I agree with the other reviews that said the margaritas weren’t as good as expected. Both the margs my husband and I ordered(pineapple and blueberry lemon) were super acidic/lime-y with no taste of tequila at all(great normally but this time, I’m not sure how much alcohol was really in them). We stopped by with the Winter Warmer and I can’t say if we’ll really make an effort to return. Overall, it was fine but nothing special.

I came here for the Tequila and Tapas event and was not disappointed! The food was excellent, the tequila tasting was a blast, and the ambiance was perfect for a fun happy hour with girlfriends. I even had an opportunity to meet the chef who was fabulous. I would highly recommend the ceviche and the empanadas(although everything was incredible). 10⁄10 will go back especially for another event like Tequila and Tapas!

Thought this was going to be a classy bar. The venue delivers. The space is upscale, the neighborhood supports, the products are superb. The service is just not there. The bar just did not deliver according to their selection.

I’ll preface this review by saying we didn’t order any food, so this is just on the margaritas. Used the Winter Warmer passport to come here and have a couple of margaritas. I ordered the pineapple and my girlfriend had the cranberry. With the emphasis they put on their tequilas and I was expecting a very good margarita with a good pineapple taste. Sadly to say I was quite disappointed. I was unable to discern any pineapple flavor. The only resemblance was a slight acidity that the cranberry one didn’t have. The two tasted almost identical, and overall it was just an average margarita. Nothing I’ll come back for. While we were there(6ish on a Sat) most patrons also had the Winter Warmer, and it appeared they weren’t too impressed either as they appeared to close out after one drink as well. On the plus side, and the reason for getting a star, during happy hour the margs are only $ 5.

The food is very unique and I love the atmosphere. Very interesting bar area and I typically love places like this. OUR server was great and very friendly making me want to go again. However if I was sitting at the bar I would have given this place a one star for service just with how rude the lady bartender was. Not only were the glares piercing, but the drinks were messed up a couple times. Very well living up to the superficial bartender ego with thinking she knew everything and arguing at the server in front of guests. Food was delicious and the burger is A+

I was here for happy hour. Not impressed at all. The margaritas were too sweet(even after we asked about them), and I ended up just leaving mine on the table. The tacos were pretty lame, but i’m not going to make a big deal about it considering it was happy hour pricing. The service was terrible. We sat at a table by the window, and it might as well have been just the bartender trying to serve everyone. Service was very slow. I’ve experienced better.

We enjoyed La Biblioteca at the beginning or April! I forgot to post then, but we thoroughly enjoyed our meal! The service was outstanding and the food, obviously delicious! We enjoyed a variety from the La Biblioteca menu and also ordered off the adjacent Zengo menu! It was nice to have both menus to choose from! We enjoyed guacamole, tequila flights, new sushi rolls that are featured on the new spring menu, empanadas(pockets of pure love and joy), and of course plenty of desserts and drinks! It was a special occasion celebrating a friends birthday, so we did not skimp! But we left savoring every flavor. My only reason for 1 less star, I would like to see a couple more fresh salad options and maybe a couple more chicken options. But the service is really outstanding!

Our first visit was for happy hour. We sat at the bar and were promptly served by the bartender. He was helpful in making suggestions but a little dull and disinterested otherwise. Adequate would sum up the service. Happy hour prices are a good(not great deal) with the infused margaritas probably being the best deal for HH. The guacamole and chips were flavorful and authentic and the albondigas were a pleasant surprise. Top marks for an exceptional tequila selection and a really pleasant atmosphere.

Immediately after I wrote my review for brunch on Sunday one of the directors contacted me directly to apologize — great customer service! My friend and I went back in for dinner tonight to give it another try. We got a sampling of items — crab cakes, tempura-asparagus tacos, edamame, some sushi, and a peanut-butter dessert. The food was hot when it was served and had a lot of flavor. The overall favorite was the dessert and then the asparagus tacos — good limey flavor and tempura wasn’t overdone. The waitstaff was friendly and made sure our water was always full. The manager came by to make sure our meal was good too. The atmosphere of this place still confused us — we weren’t sure if it was a restaurant, a tapas place, a lounge, a bar, or what. I think overall, while the food was better this time around, it seems like more of a bar with small plates rather than a restaurant for a meal. It would be a good date place for conversation as well. Overall, it was a decent experience and unique food and flavor combinations, but La Biblioteca needs to get a better idea of what it’s going after — there’s Latin food, sushi, lounge-feel, large plates, small plates, and an ad-hoc array of other items. Thanks for having us though and letting us give it another try!

I’ve been here for both food and drinks and I love it all! The drinks here are so delicious, try any of the house infused tequilas in a mojito or a margarita for added flavor. My favorite is the Serrano margarita, it’s spicy and sour and all around delicious. We ordered sushi and mexican food here, a little bit of a strange combination but all in all really good. The guacamole here is pretty tasty and they will make it to your spice liking. I love that their happy hour runs from 4 – 7 and that they also have nightly specials. Wasabi Wednesday for half off sushi rolls is a great deal and the sushi is fresh and delicious!

Warning: i came here for restaurant week and its a relatively new restaurant so excuse me if my review isn’t glowing. This place is next to zengo and owned by the same people so you know you are in for a beautifully dark and trendy restaurant with awesome drinks. Alert: mondays margaritas are only $ 5!!! I drank two because of how tasty these were! Tart and spicy! Free valet! Too bad it was only one attendant all night! For restaurant week we had the option of 4 plates. Below are the ones we tried: –trout and avocado: huge portion but bland tasting. The chips are crunchy and not greasy. Highly addictive. –ceviche: fresh tasting with a hint of coconut. –spicy tuna roll: meh, it was ok. Unless you are really craving sushi… skip it –wagyu beef appetizer: small portion but incredibly seasoned well! –lamb meatballs: nothing fancy or spectacular but the saucy is sweet and tangy! –sliders: tiny and pretty dry. The waitress was kind and quick but our food took forever to come out. Hopefully this will get better as the restaurant continues growing. The dishes didn’t wow me, but i would definitely be back to try the whole menu and more of those tasty drinks! Girls night anyone? Ps the desserts were amazing! Best part of our meal! Get the mexican bar!

Brunch. $ 35 for all you can drink and eat. But, y’all, this is no substandard Vegas buffet. We all need to be gluttons once in a while, and this is the perfect place to GluttonBrunch on decent food and drinks. The brunch drinks are solid and aren’t skimping on the booze(which one might expect when you’re paying a flat price). The make your own bloody mary bar is one of the most extensive and detailed I’ve ever seen. Choose your weapons and make it just like you like – also take the opportunity to try new things: new mixes, new add ons, new hot sauces. Super cool. The brunch margaritas are also surprisingly good. I just wish I could’ve drank more. So — the $ 35 cost is worth it just for the drinks(assuming you have 4ish). The food is a teeny notch above average, but again, good for the price and good considering you literally list off all the items from the menu you want to try. Like something a lot? Get a second. Hell, get a third! Don’t expect to get to try a lot if you’re downing small plates by yourself. Share. This way you will be able to try lots. Our server, while stretched thin with all the tables in the joint, was super sweet, funny, fun and attentive. Two hour limit on drinks. Don’t expect to be functional the rest of the day. Moral of the story: if you want to eat and drink a bunch for a low price, this is your place.
