Típica comida de Federal. Authentic, oily, and very filling. My torta could have kept me alive through the hibernation period of a black bear. Crispy bread on avacodo and barbacoa made the whole experience nice. Some jerks have messed with the outside of the place but the inside is clean and inviting, while still super low key. ¡Ven pues!

This place is authentic, right up to the wandering mariachi group that came in and played for tips while we waited. The food is really good, make sure you get the gorditas, the namesake. The chicken burrito and the relleno were also really good. The ceviche tostada was just ok, but more than made up for by the gorditas,(carnitas & adovada), plus the salsa bar.

Errr, is this a Taco Eatery or a Gorditas Eatery… Thankfully, Doug Y managed to inform us, to look up for the SIGN — GORDITAS… and you can find the next Taco eatery we went for our Final Stop of UYESW Taco Tour Saturday February 16th2013. This eatery is way smaller than CEM. From their BRIGHTYELLOWMENU it clearly featured Tacos Y Salsas. So I am indeed confused, but did not ask. *Silly me* Hmmm, what to choose, since my tummy is so full… To close the final chapter of the SWUYE Taco Tour, I decide for : * Lengua Taco($ 1.75) * Tripa Taco($ 1.75) * 1 Pineapple Bottle Drink Not everyone who came to this eatery for the Final(3rd) stop of UYESW Taco Tour. Maybe they were too full, or have some other errands to run, that afternoon. The rest who came ordered Tacos. Some of my fellow Unilocalers opt for the Gorditas instead. They sent the food to your table. Portions are A-OKay, more Generous than Tacos Junior(Stop No.1). The salsa bar was disappointing though. Now about the Tacos… Hmmm… I guess since I am already full, its was just A-OKay… This Tacos Y Salsa/Gorditas Dona Lidia ranks almost the same as Tacos Junior(from the Stop No. 1) — UYESW Taco Tours in my books. They put shredded lettuce on my tacos order. Did not fancy it as much… Almost forgettable… Service was just A-OK too. To return its a MAYBE, BUTNOT In a Hurry… Parking is available outside this eatery though can be limited due to where its located, and this eatery is located along a very busy MAINROAD of S. Federal Blvd. @44/2013

This was the third(and last) stop on our Taco Tour of 2÷16÷13. This place is located just off of Federal. After having eaten the tacos here, I would recommend this place to most taco fans. The tacos here are rather generous in size, with a solid serving of meat. Standard tacos here run $ 1.75 each. My Carnitas(my normal favorite) taco was good, with an enjoyable texture, and nice flavor. My Barbacoa was not to my liking. The flavor was rather salty, and I did not care for the pasty consistency of the meat. They also had a salsa bar here with some good selections. The service was good, and the workers were friendly.

As frightened as I was by the outside, the inside was clean and bright. This must be a part of the Tacos y Salsas franchise still because the staff was wearing the TyS black shirts. I tried a couple of the gorditas rec’d by the front of house girl and she picked a couple doozies! The chicharon was very flavorful considering it was nothing more than simmered pig skin and the rajas with cheese was very tasty! I guess caldos are the other specialty of this spot and I will be back to check them out on a cold day.
