So sad this place has closed. The sandwiches were fantastic and the guys were great! It’s disappointing when good places close and mediocre places stay in business.

Great sandwiches! I tried the«Old Mc Donald» and it definitely did not disappoint! The addition of egg salad on the bottom layer of any sandwich is pure genius. All ingredients were fresh and of high quality. great Hot Giardinera as well! Quick Delivery at off times/beware I heard they take the phone off the hook when it gets too busy?! Get dat did

The guy who took are order was so friendly I wouldn’t be surprised if he was an owner. We both committed to getting«signature» sandwiches, and we were not disappointed. I got the flatiron, and my husband got the Jimmy’s Favorite. Jimmy’s favorite is a Reuben served between two potato pancakes instead of rye bread. He loved it, but ate it for both lunch and dinner because it was so rich and filling. We had a good time, despite the sinking booth seats.

They have some very unique sandwiches and I like the direction they go with the menu. That being said my sandwich was tasty but did not have much meat on it so the taste of the meat was lost in all the other toppings. It was still good though… It seemed like they used pretty high grade, quality ingredients and I will definitely be back to try some other items. The staff is cool and the place is clean.

Drew’s is fantastic! I don’t know how I had never been in before. I love sandwiches. They’re practical, come in limitless combinations, and when they are delicious they can brighten your day. Drew’s Denver Deli makes sandwiches that put a smile on my face. They offer many different combinations of sandwiches as well as several different types of bread. The meats, cheeses, and veggies are layered on in a generous portion where you can taste each ingredient and not simply a mouth full of bread. I am particularly fond of the Bird Dog and the Cowboy. I also enjoyed the Ham and Eggs, which comes with egg salad and a flavorful red pepper relish. Drew’s offers many standard Deli salads including a potato salad that is made locally and not from some central supply factory. They also offer pretty large potato pancakes. The Jimmy’s veggie comes between 2 potato pancakes! Yum! The staff is very friendly and fast. The location is definitely casual and laid back. Just like a good sandwich should be. Sandwich eating can be messy business so eating in a place that is easy for the staff to clean seems pretty appropriate. There is ample parking in the back. This makes it convenient for stopping and dining in or stopping and ordering out. I am not sure if they deliver but they have catering adverts posted all over. Drew’s sandwiches are slightly more expensive than a Jimmy John’s but the amount of ingredients and the variety is noticeably greater. Additionally, I have not seen anything about the owner going off on six figure safaris to kill an elephant, unlike the owner of JJ. I have to remember that Drew’s is on Lincoln near the Denver Museum of Art and the State Supreme Court. As much time as I spend in that area I could see myself gladly spending a lot more time and money at Drew’s. I do wish they were open either earlier or later so that I could pick up a sandwich for either breakfast or dinner. Sandwiches really are the perfect anytime food.

I can’t believe I forgot to post my review of Drew’s! I went here about three weeks ago. I had seen or read something about this place so long ago now that I don’t remember where I saw it, about the reuben sandwich on potato pancakes instead of bread. For me tasting a reuben is a good gauge as to whether a deli is any good or not. I was very happy for the most part with the sandwich. My one complaint is that the pancakes could have used a touch of salt. Thankfully that was an easy fix for me, but it should have been salted properly before cooking-makes the potato really tasty. The size of the sandwich was good and the choices on the menu board when you walk in are plenty. The staff was very friendly. Stop in and give them a try.

Had lunch at Drew’s for the first time. My sister, brother-in-law and 2 nieces(12&10) went and were VERY impressed with the variety of items on the menu. It was hard to decide what to choose! I had the flatiron sandwich which has brisket, cheddar cheese, caramelized onions, and horseradish cream,(which I omitted because I’m not a fan but my bro-in-law said it was delicious.) My sister had the chicken salad and it looked amazing. She loved it. My nieces had the BLT and roast beef. The customer service was EXCELLENT which will keep me coming back every time. They were extremely friendly and happy to have us. They even gave us 2 drinks, no charge. I will definitely be back next time I’m in Denver!

I’m torn on how to review Drew’s Denver Deli. I was a big fan of the original Jimmy & Drew’s Deli in Boulder years ago. It looks like after that restaurant folded, they were reborn here in Denver as a sandwich shop. I would give the place 5 stars for their sandwiches, which are delicious. I recognized many of them as being from the original Jimmy & Drew’s sandwich menu. But as a deli, it doesn’t cut the mustard. There’s no matzo ball soup, no french fries, no omelets, no knish, and no New York drinks(Yoohoo, etc.). For me, those are the things that differentiate a deli from a sandwich shop. My imaginary Jewish grandmother would exclaim, «This is just a fancier version of Quiznos!» And unfortunately she’s right. So I’m just giving it 3 stars. By the way, if anyone can recommend a more traditional Jewish-style delicatessen in central Denver, I’m all ears.

If you are in the mood for a large delicious sandwich GO. Excellent customer service. You can tell these guys take pride in their sandwiches, and truly care about the customer. Now I have a goto sandwich place. Prices were a bit high, but that comes from quality I believe. Unilocal mobile app screwed up my picture when uploading, otherwise I’d have this amazing potato pancake-reubin concoction that they made me with 3 different meats for $ 8.99 plus tax. Very good.

This place is awesome! I ordered it three times in the last week. They have fast delivery and awesome customer service. Their bread is so good. I tried a turkey sandwich on french bread… it was really thin break, lots of meat, and you didnt feel like you were eating a slice of turkey on a huge bread roll. There sammies come hot which I love. The rachel is also a personal fav. Turkey, coleslaw, thousand island, on rye bread. I will order from here often, and great place to stop for lunch after a nice walk on the weekends. :)

I ordered the Cowboy, roast beef, bacon, bbq sauce, other assorted accoutrements, on white. It was a fine sandwich. I thought the roast beef would be a little less generic; it tasted no different than regular roast beef I’d get at the store(I’m probably just whining here, it’s Roast Beef, not a new car) but it’s mediocrity stuck out to me in what was otherwise a really tasty sandwich. Another noticeable characteristic of the sandwich was that they didn’t skimp on ingredients. Definitely a big, full sandwich that I shoved down my gullet using the the long end of a rake handle. Just good. Another thing that absolutely bears mentioning is that the day I went in, they were having trouble with their credit card machine. They ran my card, it wouldn’t scan, it took several minutes to find this out. I waited with my sandwich, patiently(because honestly, it’s 3 minutes, who cares) and the guy running the counter was incredibly friendly and polite. He apologized, asked me about my day — it was a really awesome interaction that I greatly appreciated. But then… the card wouldn’t run. I had no cash, I asked what we could do about it. He said that if it won’t run, it won’t run, and we’d have to use the honor system. He said he hoped I had a good experience and would come back in again and tell my friends, and that the $ 10 I would’ve spent on the sandwich would come back to them eventually. Well, I said let’s try the card again(they deserve to be paid now for the work they did now, and it worked) but I really wanted to share the experience. they were very willing to just let me go and hope I came back after giving me the best experience and sandwich they could. I thought that was amazing. Small business at its finest. I appreciate their willingness to trust the customer, and their faith in the customers ability to let a good experience bring in other business. That’s strong marketing savvy, right there. On that basis alone, I’ll definitely be back. But I mean, I was going back anyway, because they have a sandwich that has corned beef, pastrami and french fries on it and I’m like, whaaaaaaaaaaaat?!

Unilocal to the rescue again! On the way back from a ski trip, we decided to grab lunch before getting to the airport, and thank god we did. This place is amazing. It’s been featured on the travel channel, food network, etc. and it’s hasn’t even been open 2 years. It’s kind of in a strip mall and its signs and menus make it look like a bad 80’s style advertising campaign. But as son as we walked in, we were greeted by some of the nicest restaurant workers I have ever met — if you’ve ever been to Southwest Market in St. Louis and know the guy who hands out cookies with absolute glee, imagine 3 more of those guys all working together. It was impressive. Onto the food. I had the Bubbie(hot pastrami, turkey, cole slaw, munester on rye, but I put Russian dressing on instead of spicy mustard). It was incredible. The meat was tender and bountiful, and the Russian dressing was good enough to drink(though I refrained from such activity). They have a vast variety of options, and are always willing to make requested alterations. Next time I am in Denver, Drew’s in top of my list. Pros: amazing selections, delicious deli sandwiches, above and beyond friendly service Cons: They don’t have a location in St. Louis!

I was planning on grabbing a sammich from the Spicy Pickle when I discovered that they had been supplanted by Drew’s Denver Deli and wow — what an improvement! Two brothers run the place and couldn’t be any better suited for their job, which they obviously love… love which you can taste in their delectable sammies. As another reviewer noted, the menu is a touch overwhelming, but take a deep breath and let one of the guys walk you through it. I tried the Hambone(capicola, bacon, salami, cheddar, caramelized onions and sriracha mayo) and devoured every last niblet of the deliciousness. Next up? Smoked salmon club sammy.

Where there once stood one of the best sandwich shops back in the day(’02 — The original Spicy Pickle) now stands an even better operation. As soon as I walked in I was welcomed and had a quick chat with the owner and his staff, they were very friendly and warm. Now the first thing you’ll notice is that some of the cold subs are not on hero bread, they’re on regular loaf bread. Moving past that oddity, the cold subs are packed high with meat and the toppings are crisp, cold and fresh. I also tried their Southern Brother hot spicy beef brisket sandwich, and I was so glad I did. Not too spicy, but just enough to know it’s there, and some of the tender, tasty brisket I’ve ever had, and I’ve gone to KC to do their BBQ tasting tour and this stuff is better. The bread was kind of a mix between a roll and a baguette and it was super good. Great place, location, staff and food, hopefully this place is around for a while!

Saw a new sandwich place pop up on Unilocal and just had to venture there to give it a try, I’m a sucker for a really great sandwich. Parking can get a little hairy in this area so be proactive and grab the first spot you see. Upon entering Drew’s Denver Deli I was immediately greeted with a big smile from the guy behind the counter. I perused the menu although I had already looked at the menu on line — I know, it’s a Unilocal thang. I decided on the Lincoln Street which is grilled chicken, avocado, lettuce, tomato, onion, sprouts and ranch dressing. I think I have all the ingredients on that one, all from memory! I also opted for a side of potato salad(Grandma’s Recipe he said). He told me the sandwich tasted best on the sourdough but he offered up some other varieties as well. Sourdough it is, who am I to turn down a recommendation. Sat down and munched on the potato salad, a solid potato salad with eggs, onion, and a mayo/maybe mustard base. I couldn’t quite put my taste bus on it. Tasty indeed. He brought the sandwich out to me and it was picture perfect(see picture). I already know the recommended bread was the way to go. I dive right in and start submerging my teeth into the bread and crunching through the layers to take a bite. Crispy bread, succulent chicken, fresh sprouts, smooth avocado and fresh greens and I’m delighted to finish this sandwich. Completely worth a little drive and a great sandwich shop added to the neighborhood. Support your local businesses and stop on by. You should order off their specialty board — I imagine everything is on point!

I am such a sucker for a really good family business that does it right. Drew’s Denver Deli is a triple D of deliciousness. I ordered a fantastic Thanksgiving sandwich that had savory turkey, cranberry sauce, stuffing, cheddar and a wonderfully unexpected but delicious addition of coleslaw. This was a fantastic amalgamation of wonderful flavors all served warm and on a really nice soft French roll type bread. The very nice owners gave me a sample of a delicious peanut butter brownie that was also fantastic. It managed to really find the sweet spot of chocolate and peanut butter goodness. I just love these wonderful family entrepreneurial enterprises and will definitely support this delicious local deli.
