Love this place! The food is good and the service is always friendly! I would recommend to anyone who is looking for a good breakfast at a good price

My kind of place! Great hole-in-the-wall diner with down-home-style cooking’ just like I like it! PLUS, donuts! What? No way! Yes way! Yeah, we know that doughnuts aren’t good for us, but one, here and there can’t kill us! Such a delight! Weekend mornings are packed(with good reason), so get there early, and stay away if you are impatient. trust me, if you can wait, it’s worth it.

The donut was good,. Even for buying donuts you have to contend with people who are dining and come up for refills on soda. I dont know if I would go in during the breakfast rush again.

Love this place. Yes, service is slow depending on when you arrive. Its obviously a family run business, and to keep costs low(which they are), they don’t have a huge staff. If you want an honest breakfast, at a great price, and you are not in a hurry, and in the Thornton area, this place is great. They also have gone away from Styrofoam. If you’re not in a hurry, and like a great value, this is the place.

Great place… If you want to wait more than an hour for food that is sub-school lunch grade quality. Do yourself a favor and don’t. No redeeming factors.

This place is getting 5 stars from me because they do what they do very well. And what they do is make good breakfast food, not fast food, that isn’t too expensive. This place has that small town classic feel with plenty of regular customers, which someone like me loves, but other people that I might consider snooty might not. The service is always wonderfully pleasant and the coffee is actually pretty good.

This is a classic place for guys to hang out for morning coffee and breakfast and talk about politics and the weather. The food is always good, coffee warm and service very friendly. The décor is something out of the seventies, but the prices are like something out of the eighties so I won’t complain about the décor too much.

Was not impressed. The food was average and the prices reasonable but the wait was terrible. The place was maybe 2⁄3 full and we waited over 45 minutes for our food(4 two egg breakfasts). Wish we would have got a donut while we waited but they were basically sold out at 10 am. If you don’t mind waiting and your not with kids you can get your fill on coffee and conversation. At least the food was hot.

I’ve only bought donuts here, so I can’t really review the breakfast options. The donuts are pretty basic. Prices are reasonable for a basic dozen cake or raised round donuts(personally, I love the white frosted donuts with the chocolate drizzle — cake, please!). However, the prices for their ‘rolls’(which include the yummiest apple fritters I have ever had) are a little steep and are not included in the dozen donut price. Customer service is iffy. I’ve never been treated rudely at all, but you can tell there are ‘regulars’ here, and I’m clearly not one of them. So, it’s pretty much a come in, get donuts, go away scenario for me. Honestly, I would be willing to pay a little more if the donuts were on par with Lamar’s quality, but they aren’t. Still, it’s a convenient stop on the way to work, so I can’t complain. Not my favorite place or top choice, but we stop here occasionally and will continue to do so.

Completely out of donuts at 1pm… what?

Sorry, folks. You are nice enough, but I am sorely disappointed. It just wasn’t…good. This is post 1960, so time to ditch the Styrofoam plates and plastic utensils. The earth is polluted enough.

On weekend mornings when you get a craving for a good cake donut, rosepetal or cinnamon roll to drink with your coffee, you need to stop by this place. No pretense here. Just good eats and good people. Breakfasts are also worth a try.

Daylight Donuts is an unexpected find nestled in a suburban strip mall. This quiet classic midwest diner for breakfast and lunch is a throwback to simpler times — with friendly service, worn wood paneling on the walls, eclectic coffee cups stacked on the counter and simple yet delicious food from the big grill. If you’re looking to escape the chain restaurants with clutter-filled walls, dubious fast food, and $ 5 coffees, this is the place.

This place looks like a cross between 1970’s high school cafeteria and a Walmart lunch room. The menu is simple, basic, unexciting, uninspired. The food is flopped down in front of you on a Styrofoam plate with flimsy plastic forks and knives. Too lazy to do dishes are we? Have we heard of «going green»? My son hated his french toast, my food was blah. The coffee is served in what seems to be leftover mugs from the swap meet. Honestly, it’s hard to mess up eggs and bacon, but McDonald’s is right across the parking lot. This is one of the few restaurants that make McDonald’s seem like a step up. Pros: The credit card slip does come with a «TIP» line, almost like they surrendered to the idea they run a shit hole. The place seems clean. If «Restaurant Impossible» ever comes to Thornton, you might see this place. Cons: The décor is so ugly it’s unsettling. The food isn’t very good and it’s served up on plastic plates with flimsy cheapo plastic utensils.

It was good… Took the wife and kids here for breakfast last saturday. It was only $ 22 for the four of us to eat. Pros: It’s very affordable and has a cozy feel to it. Coffee is very good! Doughnuts were fresh. Cons: Delivery of food was a bit slow. The biscuts and gravy needed more grease(Waffle House has the best by far!).
