One of the things I love most about my job is traveling. I get to experience various cultures while I make a living. I’ve visited Miami many times, and I have always loved the Cuban culture that is so prevalent there. Especially the food! Cuban coffee and Cuban sandwiches are two of my favorite things. I live in Denton and while I have yet to find a decent Cuban coffee here, I may have just found my go-to place for Cuban sandwiches. Based on Unilocal reviews, I headed up to Weinberger’s for an Italian Beef. Only a few people in there when I walked in at ~1pm on a Monday, so I went straight to the counter without a wait. My brain was about to order that Italian Beef when my mouth said«do you guys make a good cuban?» The nice girl behind the counter said«yeah but which kind? We have lots.» I fumbled to think of which traditional type I’d prefer this time… «Medianoche?» I replied. «Coming right up!» Now this wasn’t the exact same medianoche that I fantasize about any time I am reminded of Miami. The bread is different, the meat is different, and the sauce(mustard?) is different. They use salami instead of ham and a much lighter, softer bread. The mustard is some sort of a deli sauce instead of the thick plain yellow mustard I’m used to. I’m not 100% sure since I kinda scarfed it down in a hurry, but I think there may have been some peppers on there with(or perhaps instead of?) the pickles. That said, the sandwich I got was absolutely delicious. The key ingredients where there, and the overall feel of their version of the medianoche is similar to the norm. It wasn’t what I was expecting but it was close, and honestly… I may like it better than my dream sandwich. I kinda want another one right now… I can’t wait to try their versions of other classics. Even if they deviate a bit from the traditional, that foundation is still well within sight and at least in today’s case it was IMO an upgrade. The price is very reasonable, the location is great, and the inside looks exactly like what a deli is supposed to look like. Supposedly they have about 150 different options on the menu — it should be a lot of fun finding my favorites. I need to see if they have a loyalty punch card because this may become a regular habit.

Great sandwich shop! They have a plethora of sandwiches to choose from and I appreciate the variety. I’ve only ever gotten two different ones. The California club and a reuben. Both outstanding! Quite large so perfect to split with someone. Sandwich comes with a bag of chips which is always a nice touch. The workers are usually young kids but they are always really nice. The last time I went I tried one of their chocolate chips cookies and I was blown away! Wasn’t expecting much but these were super fresh(they had them sitting out on the baking tray so they were still WARM!) and I was highly impressed. Cookie was huge and the chips were plentiful and still a bit gooey. Perfection.

Very disappointing. this place is about as close to a real delicatessen as Subway is. Very little meat on the Reuben, the corned beef tasted like it was made by Oscar Meyer. I should have just stopped by the gas station and picked something up. Don’t waste your time or money on this place.

I ordered through Unilocal for pick up. They were out of thr bread that came with my sandwich, and immediately called me about hate they could do. I picked up the sandwich and it was exactly what I wanted. I’m excited to try more sandwiches on the menu in the near future.

Don’t listen to the negative reviews. This place is amazing. Looks great from the outside and has an awesome environment inside. The staff was also very friendly and helpful with trying to help me pick out what to try. I got the cheese steak and it was one of the best I’ve ever had. A must stop if you’re in town.

I didn’t get the Cuban sandwich I ordered, but I did get a delicious sandwich that had similar ingredients so I ate it anyway. Next time I’ll be sure to get the Cuban. My husband’s Reuben was perfect and delicious. He says he would give them four stars.

This place gets 2 stars only for their ingredients. Everything else was just boring or bland. The bread is chewy and the employees were just… there. There’s nothing special about this place. Just go to schlotzkys if you want better food for a better price.

This place is a pile of burning garbage. It is absolutely terrible. The food is insanely disgusting. They’re from Chicago so they think they’re God’s gift to meat and food. That’s not it though. The staff is extremely rude and and unhelpful. The entire place is just completely filthy. It seems as if they’ve never once cleaned the place their entire existence.

This place is so good. I haven’t been here for a few years and I am glad to have returned. I got the Hot+Sweet+Wet Italian Beef and man it was so good. The bread soaked in all that juice and it had such a great flavor with the sweet peppers and the hot giardiniera mix. My wife had the New Yorker sandwich and the corned beef was the best we’ve had. The staff was nice enough to make me a custom salad even though they don’t have it on their menu. It was a really good salad — perhaps they should add it to their menu! I will definitely eat there again.

Wow, wowwww, WOW! Delis are ok, but this place is incredible! Best Italian beef sandwich ever… with Italian sausage and their very flavorful Marinara & pepperoncini. … I wolfed it down like there’s no tomorrow, it was THAT good! Wish this place was in my town… no, wait, I’d weigh a ton… can’t wait to return to Denton to eat here again!

Really amazing sandwiches and for the price you can not beat it. The place is very spartan, lightly padded chairs and discount tables but the food more than makes up for it. Everything I have ever gotten here has been fantastic and more than I could finish in one sitting. I am slowly working my way through the menu and cant wait for my next go, I’ll post some pictures as soon as I make my way back.

One of the best sandwiches in Denton! I get the Italian Beef Combo almost every time, but I’ve sampled my friend’s orders before and haven’t had anything not amazing. I’m glad I’m not any closer to it otherwise I’d eat there all the time!

The first thing that was said to us: «just so you guys are aware, we close in ten minutes.» We don’t feel the need to go back and inconvenience them anytime.

Simply the best place to grab a sandwich in Denton. Weinberger’s has a fantastic sandwich selection that has something for everyone. It’s also priced really well, and most sandwiches are about $ 8 and include chips(the sandwiches are huge). Oh, and pretty much every day they have a chef’s special, which is a sandwich someone threw together that day. They’re always delicious.

I came in today with the sole purpose of getting a hot and wet Italian beef sandwich. I wasn’t let down. Up to this point, when I wanted this sandwich, it took me fours hours to roast my own beef and make it at home. No more. This place is the real deal.

My husband and I ate here earlier tonight. As usual, the food was FANTASTIC. But also, as usual, the place smelled as if the sewage drains were backed up… Two years later and the place still smells like this. On top of that, one of the employees thought it the right time to organize all the tables and chairs in the place; the obnoxious scraping of the chairs was enough to drive any patron away. So, I give the food 5 stars… But I give the atmosphere and service 1 star…

My past review can’t get much better, but yet here I go. Weinberger’s was the starting point for a little event I hosted this past weekend and I want to say Thank You to Jarrod and his staff. Our group shrunk by quite a bit, but the guys whipped up five sandwiches for us to try and everyone was thoroughly impressed. A Ruben, an Italian beef with peppers, onions and cheese, California Club, Dragon’s Breath cuban and a turkey sandwich along with chips and pickles and drinks. They also took the time to tell us about each sandwich. These were they five most popular ones at this location and they were perfect. I enjoyed the ruben and the Dragon’s Breath. Great food, great hospitality. At this point I’ve been here well over 20 times… I don’t plan on stopping. Support Denton businesses!
