The food is good but there are a few other places around town that are better. It didn’t have that wow factor and the whole restaurant feels a little cheap. It is obvious that they are new at this restaurant thing and don’t have a good system for running smoothly. The waiters always seem distracted and overwhelmed. I haven’t been once where I didn’t have to ask about when the food would be ready. Definitely not a good choice if you are in a hurry or only have an hour for lunch.

Love love love this place. My wife and I recently moved to Denton from Houston. And we saw this place and decided to give it a try. Fell in love immediately and have gone back several times sometimes almost twice a week. We love the Panang and pad Thai. Full of flavor and excitement in every bite. We will definitely continue at khao son for our Thai cravings.

This was my first dining experience at Khao San, and I really enjoyed it. I ordered take out, but was quite pleased to see that the ambience was simple yet elegant. The food was made fresh, tasted great although not too spicy for Thai food standards. Maybe I should’ve asked for high spice level. Overall great tasting food which doesn’t break the bank.

Nice place and staff super friendly. Fast and willing to help. Center it’s located in us a bit busy so you’ll need to compete with starbucks for parking but it’s a nice addition to the Thai food scene on this end of town

My pick for best food discovery of 2015. Friendly service, hip atmosphere, and great tasting and expertly presented food; Khao San is a new entry in the competitive Thai restaurant scene in Denton. I love watching food emerge from the semi-open concept kitchen, watching the cooks at hard at work. My recommendations are the chicken tom kha, ginger salmon, pad see ew, fried calamari and anything off the dessert menu. Dine-in or takeout, Khao San’s food has been consistently on point and high quality, making me a repeat customer for life.

It might seem absurd to say it’s tough to open a Thai place in Denton, but it is. This is still a small town, in many ways, and while a good Thai restaurant should be expected to thrive, Denton has so much good Thai food, it’s highly competitive. I didn’t know what to make of Khao San at first, a small place tucked inside a strip mall next to Starbucks and a few doors from Radio Shack. But they’re on my way home, and I’ve come to appreciate how fresh their noodle dishes are and how complex their curries remain even for take out. This kitchen improves over time, an unusual trend in Denton, and they’ve gained a loyal following from their own neighborhood and beyond. Try the Pad See Ew or the red curry with chicken. Pineapple curry and pineapple fried rice are wonderful too. The service is always friendly and fast, a fine complement to a smart, upscale interior that rates as our classiest among Thai restaurants. I had my doubts whether or not Khao San could survive in a town this size with at least three very good kitchens doing much the same thing, but they seem destined to succeed.

I’m visiting Denton TX for business regularly and trying to find a good Asian spicy food. There’re a lot of Asian Resturants here but they’re all like American style Spicy. Getting coffee at Starbucks and come across Khao San Thai kitchen next door so here’s my review. Very nice and clean interior Great services Foods are great. Spicy and tasty Price are not bad Menu options they have the real traditional or original Thai E-San food Definitely recommend if you like spicy and tasty foods.

Ate here today for the 4th(or 5th?) time, and had much better service. The waiter worked with me again to find out which dishes could be modified to gluten free, went and talked to the chef, and showed me which specific ones(any of the top 3 or 4 vegetarian dishes) would be safe. Very kind and went out of his way to get correct information. I’ve had the lemongrass tofu and the ginger tofu with salt instead of soy sauce. Both great. They even offered to make a special batch of the yellow potato curry gluten free. I’d probably suggest calling ahead if you have special allergies, but I’ve had good luck so far with modifications, and everything’s tasted great. I got the Thai spicy(level 5) and could handle it… spicy good fresh food!

New Thai place in town! I love Thai food so I decided to give it a go. It smelled weird when we got there… Not good weird or bad weird, just weird. Normally that would freak me out but I was starving. I had the pineapple curry and my be had the pineapple fried rice. The curry comes in a good portion size and it was really delicious. My bf liked his pineapple fried rice, but said Andaman’s version is better. We had a shrimp appetizer, but I wasn’t really impressed with it. Service was great and the décor is nice. I’ll definitely be back for some more of that curry goodness.
